Five star hotel
Have to say staff were outstanding and the food only reason I didn't give five stars is there pool was out of action the whole holiday and the only thing we had wanted in a holiday was to relax by the pool They gave a alternative which is like a ice bucket challenge ruined the holiday I have to say But hotel food and staff were lovely

Great hotel
My husband and I stayed here for 8 nights in May and we had a great time. We stayed in one of the premium rooms that had recently been renovated, it was lovely & had everything we needed, lots of wardrobe space etc.
The outside area is lovely, lots of sun beds and never had to get up early to save a bed. The only downside is that the pool wasn’t heated so we didn’t use it at all for our holiday as it was absolutely freezing. It does say online about it being heated so I’m unsure why the hotel didn’t heat it up.
All the staff were amazing and extremely friendly. They couldn’t do enough for you.
The breakfast has a great selection of food.
We had lunch in the restaurant a few times and again it was lovely. We ended up sharing a baguette as they are really big and come with chips. Cocktails at the pool bar were also great.
It’s a 1 minute walk to the beach and there are sunbeds you can lay on. There is also a beach club you can also get free access to as your in the hotel, it’s called well.
There’s also a few restaurants just outside the back of the hotel by the beach, sandbanks is a nice relaxed atmosphere right on the sea. There’s also a lovely cafe on a roof top where they sell drinks and cakes which are very reasonably priced. There’s a beach bar which is also very close and really nice for an afternoon drink.
There’s also a roof top bar called the roof that opens around 5/6pm which looks out to the sea which we went to a few times before dinner.

Overall we had an amazing time and would recommend to family & friends.
The hotel is around a 30min uber ride from the airport and about 20 minutes to Vilamoura so it’s a great location.

Great Hotel in Vale do Lobo
This is my third stay at this hotel and I can highly recommend it. We had an initial problem with our room when we arrived thanks to the hard work of the recption staff this was sorted finding us an alternative room very quickly. A big thank you to Jennifer. All the staff are friendly and nothing is to much trouble. I smashed a glass of wine in our room and housekeeping responded within 10 minutes. A big thank you to Lanca and Raquel in the resturant who made our dinning truely memorable

Best food so far we tried all the top dogs this one is under the radar Kamala restaurant in hotel by the pool is a must and very competitive absolutely brilliant

Lovely to be back again at the Don filipa, everything wonderful as always, well serviced room , beautiful fresh breakfast, attentive staff . We noticed the improvements to the pool area ,new sunbeds , decking ,and the refurbished bar area adding a nice feel to the outside space , well serviced by the staff . However adding to the experience for us now is the new re launched menu at the kamal restaurant, delicious food , great service, and a menu to suit everyone, please give it a try . We will be back soon .
