Hotel Zodiaco has a privileged location, 10 minutes away (walking) from the “Forte Novo” beach, 3 km from the biggest tourist and golf centre in the Algarve, Vilamoura. Great value hotel close to the beach
Great value hotel. Spotlessly clean, comfortable rooms, quiet with a nice pool. It’s only about ten minutes walk to the beach and four euros in an Uber to the Marina. Good coffee at breakfast, very limited choice for breakfast but what they had was good quality.
Downsides for me were no kettle in the room and no balcony.

Good basic hotel
Good value stay. The room was spacious and very clean although it felt a little basic and dated. The bed was large and comfy. The whole hotel was very clean and we saw several cleaners throughout our stay.
The breakfast was ok - it was continental style and there was a decent amount of choice including breads, pastries, fruit, yoghurt etc
The pool is large with plenty of sun beds.
Shame there’s no balcony or fridge in the room.
The location is great. A 10 minute walk to the beach/one end of the promenade. If you turn right you can walk all the way along the promenade through Quarteira and on to Vilamoura. If you turn left you can walk along the beach to Vale do Lobo which was a lovely walk. It’s also really cheap and easy to get Ubers.
You can pay to hire pool towels (€2 per towel for 24 hours) and you also have to pay city tax upon arrival.
We stayed for 2 nights and the hotel was ideal for us but I’m not sure I would want to stay for a week without a balcony or more amenities.
Would recommend for a good value basic stay.

Poor Customer Service
We had a late check in and realized when we were going to sleep that the air conditioning was not working.
We asked the front desk to check and tried it himself and acknowledged that it was not working.
We asked for another room or a portable air conditioner/portable fan, but he said that the rooms were full and he did not have a portable air conditioner/portable fan. Since it was already late, we did not have any other option but to try to sleep in this hotel only.
We checked with the front desk (new person) in the morning, and they mentioned that they have portable air conditioner/portable fans, which makes it even more disturbing that it was not just a technical issue but a customer service issue.

Pathetic Service
Pathetic service was by the night front desk, least interested in customer concerns. Very poor breakfast
Nice hotel near the airport
Just stayed a couple of nights at the start of our trip, but for this it was ideal. Nice room, very nice (often empty) pool area, plenty of parking, good breakfast. It was also exceptionally clean! Only two bad points:
- the cleaner came so late in the day to clean our room we had already returned from our day out and just wanted to relax
- the restaurant is not open in the evenings, but there is a really nice and reasonable place very close called Happy Andorinhas (4min walk)
