We were regular customers and the staff were familiar with us, “senior citizens”. This is about health and safety, coupled with noise pollution caused by the staff, it’s also about failure to compensate. We were kept awake on the first night by what we thought was external music, it sounded like the call to prayer and was on repeat. On the second night it repeated and at about 2am I went down to reception, on entering I identified the source of noise, it was a speaker that was fitted into the ceiling, directly below our first floor room. ( room 105 ) A young man sympathised but informed me that his boss did not permit him to interfere with the volume. I emailed this to the hotel, along with other issues, hazards, being the slippy bath with no shower mat, very poor lighting, a metal towel rail that caused my partner to bang her head, a wet floor due to overspill from the shower. I questioned the room security as the window lock did not engage, so the room having an easily accessible outside patio, made this an easy access for burglars. To date the hotel has offered us 15% discount on a higher room, we feel this is not compensation, this hotel undervalues its customers, just be aware of this fact.

Certainly not a 4* hotel. No more than 3 at a push. Very dated - don’t go by the pictures on their website- not even close in reality! Sold sea view suite - yes we could see the sea but it was overshadowed by derelict buildings. Didn’t want to look out ! Looked like a slum. Ants everywhere. I wrote to their complaints dept and basically was told there’s nothing they could do. Ridiculous considering I paid extra for suite with a view. Also pool very dated and run down - it’s also overlooked by residents living on hotel site.
