Pure Formosa Concept Hotel

3rd time in this fabulous hotel . Location is great in centre of town but only 10 minutes walk to seafront marina and all the restaurants etc . Decor and style is very natural and minimalist.
Pool area is lovely but quite small and sunbeds can get full quite quickly at peak season.
Staff are fantastic and friendly . Only downside this time was I had a room at the front which can get noisy at night.
I prefer rooms at the back . Will definitely stay again.

We have just had 8 nights at this beautiful small hotel. We have been coming here since its opening. We have also visited other properties in the same group. Pure Formosa is a stand out hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable with good quality bedding and beds are very comfortable. The staff, without exception are second to non. Staff remember that we are repeat guests and welcome us like family. They have a good rapport with customers being informative and highly professional. The rooftop terrace is the jewel in the crown. Albeit small and at times sun loungers are hard to come by there’s comfortable seating by the bar area whilst awaiting for sun loungers to be vacated. The food at lunchtime is of a good quality and competitively priced. The views across the Ria Formosa are stunning as are the sunsets at night. The hotel is located across from the church, and the streets leading to the marina are quaint and and have some lovely restaurants. We will return again this year and will also try another property in the group Vila Loreto in Fuseta. Thank you.

The Pure Formosa hotel in Olhão is a short 20 minute Uber ride from Faro airport and should cost you around €12 so you can relax into your holiday sooner rather than later.

Checking in was quick and efficient and soon in my superior room which was located on the 4th floor facing the town and the port. Superior rooms have a narrow balcony on which you can sit out on if that is something that appeals to you.

The rooms are bijou but everything is thought of to make the best use of the available space. The open wardrobe had 10 hangers so just enough to share between 2. There is not a lot of storage space but it's all manageable. There is a kettle and fridge, a complimentary bottle of filtered water which does not get refilled during your stay - why not ?

The bed was clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was perfectly serviceable but again a little tight on counter space so not much room for your toiletries and the like. The shower was easy to use and the gels & shampoos had a lovely smell and felt luxurious, towels were of good quality too. Sadly, the balcony table was chipped and in need of replacing otherwise everything was spotlessly clean and tidy and well looked after. The AC worked well as did the wifi.

Breakfast is excellent so it is worth booking the bed & breakfast rate. Good quality O.J.and smoothies. Scrambled egg and bacon was available in the bain-maries and pretty good, the egg was not overcooked and had a lovely texture. Great selection of cold cuts, cheeses and fruit. The selection of breads, pasties and rolls was impressive too, a great start to your day. Coffee machine was easy to use - just select your language first.

The rooftop was amazing and a great spot to relax at anytime of the day. There is a lot of loungers and no-one seemed to be "reserving beds" as sometimes is the case. The views over Olhão were great and the drinks reasonably priced. The location is second to none, you are a short walk to the train station and to the port area for the bars, restaurants & ferries to the islands, a great place to stay if in looking to holiday in Olhão.
