Set in the heart of the Algarve’s vibrant town of Lagos, Tivoli Lagos is a charming resort-style hotel offering a blend of Portuguese character and comfort. Designed like a traditional Algarve village, its whitewashed buildings and cobbled paths create a relaxed holiday atmosphere. The hotel is just a short stroll from Lagos’ historic centre, where guests can explore shops, cafés, and local landmarks, while the golden sands of Meia Praia beach are easily reached via a complimentary shuttle service in the summer months.
Tivoli Lagos offers a variety of facilities, including an outdoor swimming pool with sun loungers and a terrace, as well as a seasonal indoor pool and a wellness centre with massage services, sauna, and a fitness room. Guests can enjoy a range of dining options, from relaxed poolside snacks to regional Portuguese cuisine.
Guestrooms are decorated in a classic style, each with air conditioning, a balcony or terrace, satellite TV, free Wi-Fi, a minibar, and a private bathroom with a hairdryer. Upgraded rooms and suites offer extra space and enhanced comfort, some with views across the gardens or pool area.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We did have enjoyable stay in the hotel which is very tired & could do with a complete revamp. The breakfast was good & our room was very small. The pool area was very good The best asset to the hotel was the staff especially around the bar & pool area with a special mention for RENU who really excelled in serving us. Be prepared there is a 7.5% service charge on food & drink which is optional.
This hotel is in the perfect location. It’s near the marina and old town. However, it’s an old hotel! For example, the blow dryer is on the wall and you have to hold the start button down the entire time you blow dry your hair. The bathroom doesn’t have hooks for towels and the air conditioning unit is a single remote control unit. The breakfast is very good and all I can say is it’s okay. Not the best, but it’s worth the price if you pay under $250. The hotel has a shuttle to take you to the beach. I would give it 3.5 stars because of the outdated design, but 5 stars for location and the breakfast.
Stayed here for two night on a tour of Portugal. Lots of deferred maintenance here which needs to be addressed. Common areas are better than the rooms. Bathroom had been updated but still had a broken hand held shower sprayer …definitely NOT a four star property.
Terrible hotel, smelly rooms, safe not working, concierge room smells putrid. Staff not helpful when asking to change rooms. To get to our room we had to go into 2 lifts & up & down a few floors to get to our room which was facing a busy street.
WE WONT BE BACK. TERRIBLE HOTEL, A MAZE OF DISAPPOINTMENT. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. 🤮🤢😷
Room cleanliness and helpfulness of some staff not all. The entire facilitaty is a bit run down and does not look like the pictures online.
