Amazing stay
Amazing stay at Belmar. 1br apartment with an amazing view on the pool and beach. I just wish they had a bigger bar and additional shops.
Lagos Resort
Belmar Resort & Spa has a great location and very good facilities, friendly staff, and the overall setting is very nice. However, for a 4-star property in Portugal, the service felt more limited than expected and lacked several small touches that comparable hotels often provide.
For example, complimentary filtered water was limited to a single bottle on arrival, rather than being replenished during the stay. Face tissues were not provided in the room, and there was no assistance provided upon request with parking or luggage. Daily room service limited to 1 visit for 4 night stay.
Minor details, but these basic guest-service extras were all provided in 4 other 4 star hotels in Porto, Lisbon, Douro Valley, along with small gifts of pasties and wine.

⭐ 1 Star – Extremely Disappointing Stay
Our experience at Belmar Resort was extremely disappointing and unfortunately took away from what we had been looking forward to as a special trip to Lagos.
From the moment we settled into the apartment, we had a serious ant problem. There were ants throughout the apartment—including the bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms, and living room. This was not just a few ants here and there; they were everywhere, and they even got into our personal belongings. It was extremely uncomfortable and upsetting.
I understand that the ants may have been coming inside because of the extreme heat outside in search of a cooler environment. However, what disappointed me most was how the staff handled the situation.
I reported the problem to reception and was told the manager was not there and would contact me. Unfortunately, no one ever followed up. The only resolution offered was for the housekeeper to spray a solution, which did nothing. The ants continued to be throughout the apartment.
We also couldn't enjoy the balcony because of the bugs, which was especially frustrating since relaxing on the balcony and enjoying the surroundings was something we were really looking forward to.
What bothered me most was the lack of urgency, communication, and genuine concern from the staff. I understand that unexpected issues can happen, but I expected our concerns to be taken seriously and for management to make a real effort to resolve the problem.
We were so excited to visit Lagos, and unfortunately, this experience took away from what should have been a wonderful and memorable vacation.
The ants were frustrating, but the lack of response, urgency, and customer care was what disappointed me the most. I hope Belmar Resort takes this feedback seriously and improves both its pest control and the way guest concerns are handled.

Nice location but could be improved to be worth the price tag
The location is perfect, only a couple of minutes to a lovely beach and its about a half hour walk (or 10 min 5 Euro in a bolt) into the old town.
We stayed in Apartment B2A which was 3 bedrooms and had views of the pool and beach.
The communal areas were a little shabby in some places and needed better cleaning and also our terrace was in need of tidying.
We had 2 bathrooms but 1 shower was un-usable as it flooded the bathroom, in fairness they did offer to re-seal it but that would not have helped and would have needed time to dry and we were only there for a week.
The breakfast was really nice although expensive at 22 euros each per day and the evening meal was ok but could have been hotter, we ate there twice.
Overall nice but not worth the money we paid (£4k for 7 nights for 4 people including breakfast)
