The hotel is set in an ideal location, situated on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and offers spectacular panoramic views of Senhora da Rocha Beach, which is sheltered and directly accessible from the hotel. The hotel is a short 3-minute walk from numerous shops, cafés and restaurants. There are plenty of shopping venues, restaurants, bars and nightclubs 1 km from the hotel. Convenient public transport links may be found within 100 metres of the hotel. Faro Airport is at 55 km driving distance. The hotel offers guest rooms with sea or garden views for guests to freshen the day in the morning. All room are well-equipped with modern bathrooms, television with cable channels, air conditioning, hair dryer and mini bar. Guests can dine at two restaurants and a bar. Room rating overpriced
Ended up having a great week due to the area and the beaches . Basically we were offered an upgrade and had to pay 300 euros more to be put into what was called a Superior room which basically turned out to be the floor above were we had booked . What is not made clear is any room that you see in the picture of the hotel facing the sea is a suite anything else is side view or the other side by the front door garden view .I was under the impression we would be front facing the sea after a conversation with the hotel via whattsap when really it was never going to be there .Side view is where we were put and fortunately had an amazing view of Eco Beach well worth a visit but do not be fooled into booking more for these rooms as all side view had this view and the same generic layout as shown all over the website. Save you money and just book a side view room as the 300 euro extra we paid to be on the next floor made our holiday get off to a disappointing start and we felt cheated. The rooms have a kitchenette however no utensils, plates etc or even cutlery were provided . We muddled through but feel after paying nearly 2000 euros there should off been more on offer.The hotel was acceptable but in parts in need of modernising and general maintenance needed in the room we stayed in .

Hotel
Listed as a 4* Hotel, I would say it makes that rating, room bathrooms maybe need a facelift but otherwise we had a great stay, beds very comfortable, we had a sea view suite (434) so lots of room. We went B&B and breakfast was plentiful and tasty, I can’t comment on other meals as we went out every day but looked nice. Staff very friendly and helpful, even the room cleaner had a smile everyday. Reviews say towels left on sun beds but we didn’t see that and always got a couple regardless of time we went down. If I had to find a negative, prices at the pool bar are a bit steep. Great Hotel & staff, already planning return next year. Well done Viking. Simon & Helen

Great stay!
Great stay for our anniversary. Staff on check in were friendly. We booked a superior, deluxe with Sea view. It was more like a 1 bed apartment with kitchen facilities, very spacious. Bathroom was lovely and modern. Had a lovely chocolate cake delivered on our 1st day wishing us a happy anniversary. Location was wonderful and relaxing with 2 beaches either side. No issues getting sunbeds either. We stayed bed and breakfast. Great choices and always managed to get a seat overlooking the gardens. Entertainment 1st night was poor and another night it was advertised but didnt see any when we checked but it wasn't a priority for us so didnt dampen our stay. Did the caves from Armação de Pera which was fantastic. Great steakhouse in Armação de Pera (A Piri) and the Italian next to the hotel was also very good. Definitely stay again if visiting that area.
Lovely holiday
We had a lovely stay here, just what I wanted! I found the resort to be relaxing and peaceful but also suitable for children. The room was well appointed for myself and 2 children. Sea view was a lovely bonus. We enjoyed the food at the hotel and the chance to try some new dishes (fish stew yum). The pool area was lovely with plenty of sunbeds. Beautiful beaches just a short walk away. The hotel was clean and provided a good value stay.

A dated hotel
A dated hotel and that lacks any atmosphere. The whole place needs a urgent refurbishment. We had a Seaview suite which wasn't cheap and while it had all the basics, it lacked comfort, so just a huge empty living area with a pointless kitchenette (no cutlery or plates etc) While I found the bed comfortable, the air conditioning wasn't, not getting cool enough and noisy, so left it off and windows open. The door to the balcony was also an issue with no handle on the outside, so easy to be locked out. Breakfast was OK, haven't tried the buffet dinner. Bar was poor, lacking a good drinks selection and waiting staff looked like they hated working there. They couid do with been thought a few manners and learn how to smile occasionally. On the positive side, the location is fabulous, with gardens and lounges overlooking a cliff top and excellent beaches nearby. Also a good Italian (Bellamondo nearby). Is the hotel has a major renovation I may be back but otherwise I won't be returning.
