The hotel is set in an ideal location, situated on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and offers spectacular panoramic views of Senhora da Rocha Beach, which is sheltered and directly accessible from the hotel. The hotel is a short 3-minute walk from numerous shops, cafés and restaurants. There are plenty of shopping venues, restaurants, bars and nightclubs 1 km from the hotel. Convenient public transport links may be found within 100 metres of the hotel. Faro Airport is at 55 km driving distance. The hotel offers guest rooms with sea or garden views for guests to freshen the day in the morning. All room are well-equipped with modern bathrooms, television with cable channels, air conditioning, hair dryer and mini bar. Guests can dine at two restaurants and a bar. Other facilities include swimming pool, spa, gym and kids club.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Loved our stay at Pestana Viking Ocean Resort. The suite was well equipped and requests for additional supplies were addressed timely. The beds were firm, they supplied toppers which made them more comfortable for those who are not firm sleepers. The views from the balcony and pool were amazing. We were concerned about parking but had no issues finding spots up the street each evening during the busy season. Would return to this resort.
Second stay at Pestana Viking and was not disappointed. .it's a beautiful quiet location and would stress that this is a hotel for those seeking relaxation yet caters efor young families well in the daytime.
Rooms are comfortable and our room (312) was pleasantly located close to reception with a nice side sea view. Felt like room had been recently freshly painted also!
I stayed with Jet 2 and felt I got a great deal when evaluating alongside other similar 4 star hotels.
Special shout out to housekeeping they are very friendly, kind and do a really lovely job!
I was quite disappointed with my visit to this hotel. The photos are very deceiving in a lot of aspects around the pool, the rooms and especially the beach. Drinks, snacks and any added bits are extremely expensive in the hotel, costing 4.50 euros for a soft drink from the bar met with very rude staff. Staff overall except for reception are rude and avoid giving service as much as possible. One of the most disappointing parts was how salty the water was in the pool, my partner and I had been in the sea, and it was less salty! We both had red and sore eyes the entire day after the pool water had got splashed in our faces. The location of the hotel is very inconvenient to walk anywhere in terms of restaurants/shops, having to walk up a long steep hill just to get to a small convenience store. Food at breakfast is on the lower scale of quality with days old fruit, stale bread and juice served warm that is also not fresh. Rooms are clean, aircon is sufficient and area is relatively quiet although this may depend where in the hotel you are staying.
We had a deluxe sea view room and were very happy with our stay. The room has some wear, but the pool was great, the breakfast was great (made to order omelets!) and the location was great. Easy walk to plenty of restaurants and easy walk to two beaches separated by a limestone tunnel. There is a lot of seaweed on both beaches, but it is still swimmable.
Yes, a four star hotel. Yet, the service from the front of house staff was definitively five star! The other most noticeable point of this hotel are the cleaning staff. I have never in all the five star hotels we have stayed in had such a clean room every single day. Beautifully done exceptionally clean, thank you. We will visit again because of the front of house and the cleaning staff. And to make the most of the beautiful surroundings around the hotel. There are many beautiful places to visit.
