MOSTLY GOOD
Just returned following a 7 day stay on a bed & breakfast basis. We stayed on 4th floor of 5. Have not been to this hotel for 10 years. SUMMARY OF OUR OPINIONS HOTEL Positives : Great location almost on the beach. Lovely gardens. Views from rooms with a sea view excellent. Good sized pool. Pool bar serving drinks and snacks. (TIP: Large beers are 5 euro but about 5 minutes away at Suica Bar a large beer is 1.5 euros. Other cheap bars are available !) Local bus stops right outside (10 mins to Praia Da Vau where you can walk up to Praia Da Rocha, and 30 mins to Portimao) A short 15 to 20 minutes walk from hotel into town centre depending which route you took. The boarded promenade being the nicest but longest. ROOM Positives : Maid service everyday. Quite roomy. Just about enough storage space for clothes (though we had to request more hangers) Balcony. Air con. Free safe. Negatives: In Bathroom, some visible mould along bath. Shower not the best pressure, took a while to heat up and often went from cold to scolding. Not too much space for toiletries. Standard hairdryer with no styling nozzle. Lots (too many) mirrors though no magnifying one. In lounge, not too many sockets (TIP : Good idea to take a extension lead) Beds were softer than we're used to and pillows very soft. Even though we were only B&B there are no plates or cutlery and more importantly no tea/coffee making facility at all. I believe a kettle can be hired for 10 euros a week. Small fridge in wardrobe but not very chilled at all and no freezer part to it. BREAKFAST Positives : Breakfast very good. mostly everything you could want. There was bubbly on most mornings so able to make a nice refreshing Bucks Fizz. Excellent omelette making chef, though being very popular be prepared to wait about 10mins or so for one (I'd say worth the wait) Staff are all excellent. Negatives : Breakfast didn't deviate in any way at all. Same everyday. (Sausages are the small frankfurter type and bacon is the streaky type) Quite a lot of options (the porridge is a nice touch - though there maybe should be a better choice of cereals for children as none of their usual favourites are available) For some reason there were no teaspoons. Staff throughout the hotel are helpful and friendly - special shout out to reception. Did we enjoy our stay ? Yes. Would we return ? Maybe.

9 night stay with family
Lovely hotel, great location, spectacular views from superior room, really comfy beds and spotless. Staff so friendly and the food good, definitely one of the better buffet style dinners I have had in hotels abroad.
I am just back and I believe it will be closing over the winter for a refurb.
As all older hotels do, could to with touch ups here and there ( toilets off lobby probably more so) but hopefully they don't turn it into a really expensive 5 Star. It is a really good 4 star.
Disappointing
Unhappy with our stay…pools are cold and not heated, not child friendly or stroller friendly have to carry our baby or find someone to help with the stroller throughout the hotel, amenities are very poor, room service menu is below average,, coffee tastes terrible had to order coffee from outside.. not like the images.. only has a beach view but we pay extra for using sunbeds,, hostesses aren’t friendly or hospitable at all,, won’t come again for sure

Good hotel in an excellent location.
Just had a 4 night stay here with friends. Great location right on the beach, next to the boardwalk within easy reach of Alvor village. Rooms are nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable, with air con thankfully as we were here during some very warm weather. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
The pool has plenty of sunbeds available with plenty of shade under the trees or parasols. There is a gate which leads out to the beach and boardwalk.
The pool bar has a great choice and is very reasonably priced - especially during happy hour (4-6pm) when all drinks are 30% off.
Breakfast is plentiful. The queue for the omelette station can get quite long, but the omelettes are delicious so it’s worth the wait.
The only thing I would say is that the hotel could do with a little refresh here and there. The carpet on the stairs is long overdue replacing for example but it’s an excellent location and lovely staff. I would stay here again.

Family holiday
We are a family of six who stayed here for a week on a b and b basis in September 2026. We really enjoyed our stay and would come again. The hotel was clean and well maintained, although apparently some refurbishment is being carried out later this year. The location on the beach is excellent, and the walk into Alvor village along the boardwalk is lovely. The staff are friendly and helpful. There was plenty of choice at breakfast although it did get busy at about 9 o’clock. The pool area and bar is very nice. Our only minor complaint was that at times in the evening there were not enough staff on duty in the bar, so there was a bit of a wait to get served.
