- Urban Hotel Santa Eulalia

This family-friendly hotel is located in Santa Eulália, near the city of Albufeira. Situated in a quiet and well-known area, the charming residence is just 600 metres away from Santa Eulália beach. The famous Oura strip with numerous restaurants, shops and discos is only 2 km from the hotel, and the nearest links to the public transport network are just 1 km from the resort. Decorated in an Arabian and Moorish style, this residence is fully air-conditioned and comprises a total of 24 rooms. The pleasant lodgings all come with an en-suite bathroom and individually regulated air conditioning. Some have a private balcony and soundproofed rooms are available upon request.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
This is our second time at this hotel and it did not disappoint.
However, it’s a 4 ⭐️ this time due to having an upgrade to our chosen room (I’ll explain)
We had stayed in the main building the first time and we LOVED IT! Room was small but clean and cosy.
This time we booked exactly the same however we got a free upgrade sale and were bumped to a suite.
The suites are independent from the main building and have a direct access to the pool (which is pretty fancy) and the rooms are significantly bigger.
NOW…
The suite has floor to ceiling windows which have only got the curtains to keep the light out and they don’t cover all the way (which for me was bad because I need pitch black to sleep well).
The suite bathroom features a smaller bathroom with a tiny shower box that we weren’t able to close the door all the way and the shower kit itself is not very well positioned. (This was one person in the shower and not two)
And lastly the rooms being so close to the pool & main road, the noise is a much bigger factor than it was when you stay in the main building.

It is still a VERY nice hotel that we will come back to every time we land in FAO since it’s only à 30 min drive and inexpensive. I will however stick to my lovely double room in the main building!
DO NOT STAY HERE!
This is singularly the worst hotel experience I've ever had in my life. My mother and I booked the Deluxe Superior single. When entering, it was clear that the room had no sea view (blocked by a massive building in front) and was exactly the same as every other room. We noticed also a strong sewage smell inside the room, which continued for our entire stay, to the point where we couldn't sleep with the door closed because the smell was too much.
The sheets were not changed when the room was cleaned until we asked them. Both myself and my mother woke up with bites all over our bodies, which could have been due to red ants which were constantly crawling all over the floor of the room.
The hotel has no kitchen, so the breakfast is extremely minimal and the 'cooked food' has been left there cold since 7am when it is brought (presumably from somewhere else) into the dining area. That dining area is so small there is only two tables inside, so in extreme heat customers are made to eat outside as there is no alternative.
The pool is just by the roadside and the noise from the dual carriageway is deafening. Furthermore, I would not advise bringing children here because the pool is just open to the street where cars are travelling sometimes 70kmph! Also it's very strange to sit by a pool in your bikini and be visible on the street with a glass screen - very disconcerting and I wouldn't be comfortable again if there were children in the party because of the area's dark background (Madeleine Mccann).
This is not somewhere you go to relax. The hotel is so small and in such a stressful location that you cannot escape to anywhere calm. We immediately asked to leave on our second day, after learning the hotel was nothing like the pictures. They said as policy they do not offer refunds. We asked to speak with the manager (and this was a thursday) and they said she was not available and we would have to email her. I have emailed her every day since then and there has still been no response. We are now back home and she has ignored our complaint ever since. We were not allowed to see the manager, get a refund, or terminate our stay and therefore our entire holiday was ruined.
The hotel are looking to scam you in every way possible. We asked for towels for the pool and they charged us 20 euros per towel as a deposit. When we asked for the money to be returned, the member of staff could not find the receipt to return the money. He finally retrieved a receipt which was clearly from another customer as the card number didn't correlate with mine. I tried to point this out and was clearly becoming stressed and upset that they were saying they would not return our money, and then he threatened to call the police on me as I was disturbing other customers.
I have since found out that the management of this hotel is called Daniella Ferreira. You will never see or speak to her because she is hiding from accepting that this hotel is a total shambles. There are many other reviews online where customers have tried to contact her and have had no luck. If you have a problem, they will direct you to an email address which supposedly leads to her, but you never get a response.
A hotel without a manager is not only unsafe, but disrespectful to customers who are paying hundreds a night to stay here - YEP it costs over 230 euros a night to stay here. And that is more than the 5 star resort just across the road. Save yourself the absolute horror of this hotel and do not stay here !
Nice little basic aparthotel rooms recently renovated. Initial room offered had strange smell in checking in told staff and got a better room. Had mini bar in room, but no kettle which would be a good touch . Pool area really nice with chilled vibe. Location wise 10 min walk to shops and restaurants and bars etc. Great italian called paulus in santa Eulália. Staff all really friendly at hotel and 9 euro breakfast good too. Would definitely go back for short break without kids
WOW !!! What a hidden gem in Albufeira. Paid £60 for a night just as a lay over not expecting much but I would go back in a heartbeat. We were greeted by a lovely lady at 11pm who was so so kind. The rooms (the basic ones) are not huge but the amenities are super nice. Bed and pillows are foamy and nice it’ll give you a very good nights sleep. Good water pressure and mini fridge in the room. All rooms are fitted with AC which helps a LOT! We had a lower floor room - 107- and we had a small balcony overseeing the adventure park with chairs and table to relax outside. Free parking onsite. Huge balcony on last floor with sun beds and chairs. Pool was lovely but what really won us was the cleanliness of the WHOLE place. À MUST MUST stay while in Algarve.
Fab hotel beside some great beaches. Lovely, friendly staff, especially Sonya on reception & Patricia too 🩷🩷 Spotlessly clean, lovely breakfast & outside pool though I didn't use it. Met some nice folks passing through. Wd definitely stay again
