The hotel absolutely exceeded our expectations. We only had time to go away for a few days so wanted something that was relaxing and comfortable. The staff from beginning to end were super friendly, welcoming and went above and beyond to help us. They prioritised our room at check in since our flight was so early, helped us secure reservations at the specialty restaurants throughout our stay and let us use the facilities on our check out day before our transfer arrived. Staff in the restaurants and bars were also wonderful. Our room was spacious, clean and had amazing facilities including kitchenette, double balcony and a bath. The all inclusive package was great value for money; there was a wonderful range of cuisines to choose from in their speciality restaurants and we took great advantage of this. We also appreciated being able to use the other hotel chains in the area. The pool facilities were lovely and the daytime entertainment at the hotel was always great to join in with. The location was great, super close to the beach and only a cheap taxi ride away from the old town. Had great atmosphere but still not too noisy at night. Overall we had a fabulous stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone. Thank you!
We have been all inclusive a lot but this was the first time we haven't been able to get food in our hotel (apart from the sushi restaurant which was open a few evenings). To go for meals, the closest option we had was to go to the hotel nextdoor which meant going through reception, downstairs, past the pool, through a gate, across a road & through a car park. Not enough to ruin our holiday but a little inconvenient & found it strange! Also the buffet restaurant there was very small & could be very busy & crowded at times. We ate at the Italian restaurant one night which was buffet starter & dessert but table service for mains & drinks. We also couldn't get a drink in our hotel once the pool bar closed at 6pm. Evening drinks & entertainment were at the hotel nextdoor too. The queues at the bar could be quite long with only one member of bar staff trying to serve guests from 2 or more hotels. There weren't enough chairs & tables to sit & have drinks & watch the entertainment so had to sit on sunbeds. We tried to get a drink at a different hotel bar one night when we'd been to Jacs restaurant, but were told we couldn't use the bar. So it was quite confusing what you could & couldn't use as part of your all inclusive. Someone said there's a sky bar & a beach bar but we never discovered them! Location is good, close to shops, bars restaurants & not too far from the beach. Cheap for a taxi to the old town. The room was spacious but the sofa bed/pull out bed were not ideal for our teens. We had to pay €100 deposit in case we damaged anything, again never experienced this before, it's always been holding credit card details if anything. There are signs saying you can't reserve sunbeds & items will be removed but there were plenty of times, especially at the pool at the hotel nextdoor, that there were no beds available. Staff were helpful with finding you a parasol if you found beds but no shade. The music round the pool......awful mostly! I love music but the volume was ridiculous & the music was not pleasant or family friendly at times. We asked several times a day for it to be turned down as our autistic daughter was struggling. It was turned down briefly then turned back up or the staff said they didn't have control over it. In the end I went to reception because the only beds we could get on that particular day were in-between the speaker blasting music out & a group of men playing their own music. Not relaxing in the slightest. Reception were very sympathetic & apologetic & said they would ask the staff to sort it. They clearly did because for a couple of days afterwards, a member of staff who had been lovely, friendly, cracking jokes, started being really "off" with us. The food was really good. I'm a very fussy vegetarian & there was always something I could eat. Good choice of all inclusive drinks & generous measures. We thought the pool looked small on the pictures but we were pleasantly surprised to find it was a decent size. Staff friendly & helpful for the most part. Cleanliness good.
Lovely food and great service from Chetan. We really enjoyed our meal at El Mexicano and would definitely recommend it!
