We stayed in a two bedroomed penthouse apartment with a fabulous large balcony. Everything was high quality and the apartment itself was larger than we expected so we had loads of room for everyone.
We took the option of purchasing breakfast at check-in (€20 per head) and this was a good way to start each day - although a little variety would be welcomed.
Parking is free and easy enough to get. A hire car is a necessity as you are a bit away from most places.
The wellness hub classes in the adjoining Marriott hotel were the highlight and the single biggest reason to come back. Thank you Marta, Karla, Raquel and all involved for a superb experience. I could not speak more highly of you.
Thank you to everyone - highly recommended.
Well … It’ a good place if you are looking for pool parties with loud music in the morning (before noon). We called reception and complained. Nothing happened. We were asked for a 10% tip after a buffet dinner. Getting accurate directions for the beach from the staff was impossible. Not coming back.
Overall, we had a great experience. Like any hotel, there were a few minor issues, and not everything was perfect. We occasionally needed to ask about our room, housekeeping missed a few standards, and there was some noise during our stay. However, the friendliness, professionalism, and helpfulness of the team more than made up for these small shortcomings. Every issue we raised was resolved quickly and efficiently, and the staff were always approachable and eager to help. Thank you to all the team, especially Ricardo, Lauren, Bernardo, Juliet, and all the reception team—I could not catch all the names. Your excellent customer service made our stay an enjoyable one, and we would be happy to return.
A lovely looking resort with a lot to give and a few snags.
We had a great time and would say that the resort is generally well maintained, peaceful and relaxing.
Positives: serene luxury grounds. plenty pool space and sun loungers, great children’s pools and the Marriott Hotel adjacent has a fun splash zone for kids with a pirate ship/slides, and another play area. Breakfast service was very welcoming and served a good selection and high quality foods. The nights with music at the restaurant were the best, it created a warm fun atmosphere 🙌 The dinner food was good, the fish dishes and desserts were nicely made, it felt like the food was simple and unpretentious. Kids club: fun bouncy castle, great bubbles, slime!
Negatives: a few of the pools were out of order, this let down the appearance of the pool area and detracted from the luxury feel. The kids play park was partially broken, though our kids still played on it. The dinner service sometimes lacked a good welcome from the staff, we felt this improved over our stay but it wasn’t consistent. The dinner food was also a little underwhelming, it was normally good to eat but the presentation was a little flat and the food wasn’t very hot. The restaurant felt too quiet at nighttime and more music would’ve been nice. The live music nights really were best, even some louder background music would’ve been nice. The kids food selection was poor, would’ve been good to have pasta and pizza on more. The starters weren’t good, many nights it wasn’t fresh food (fried gyoza and pastry’s), it felt lacklustre. Generally more effort to make the dinner service would’ve lifted our rating as we were half board. No evening entertainment, it’s not a hotel. The kids club welcome wasn’t consistent, some days they seemed happy to welcome us and hang out, other days we were ignored. We weren’t sure why there was a fee to use it, no one was using it so why not make it free? The beach train was broken on a day we wanted to use it. Some housekeeping issues, no replacement bin bags, empty dish soap containers and often no hand towels being replenished. The pizza restaurant was shut for renovations unfortunately.
We weren’t really sure water kind of resort we were going to when we booked, I would’ve hoped for a little more sparkle throughout our stay. That being said it was a nice environment for a break. We hired a car and went to the local beaches a few days. They are stunning! The pool’s were refreshing and pleasant. We made lunches in our large apartment and enjoyed the spacious balcony and room.
My advice: fix the broken bits immediately. Review the dinner service. Ask people for their thoughts on how to improve it and make sure the staff are happy!
A wonderful hotel. Was full but never felt that way. Luxurious pools and so clean everywhere. Staff were always attentive (a special shout out to Mariana who took time to provide several places for us to visit. Hired a car through the hotel contact and excellent. The food was lovely and the drinks were always expertly poured and flavoured cocktails or juices. No need to grab sunbed as always plenty available. It was an absolute delight to stay at this hotel and we will definitely be back to sample it again.
