Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

The hotel is clean, cheap and cheerful. The pool area is exceptionally clean and well maintained, and the gardens are beautiful, thanks to a very hardworking gardener. The hotel is dated, but the rooms are clean and well equipped. The staff are friendly, professional and happy to help with reasonable requests. The maids were especially eager to please, particularly when given a small regular tip. There’s no entertainment and the poolside menu is limited, but there’s a quiet bar with reasonable prices and a lovely swimming pool. Everything you need is close by: the shopping mall is opposite, and nearby you’ll find shops, restaurants, cafés, a pharmacy, KFC and McDonald’s. A taxi costs around €5 to get to the Old Town, the beach or the Strip, with its shops and nightlife. We stayed in late September and early October 2026. Go with realistic expectations: the price is inexpensive, and the hotel is simple and a little dated. We wanted for nothing and were treated very well by the staff. A positive attitude and realistic expectations helped us enjoy our trip.
We stayed at Luna Miramar from 23–28 August 2026 with our young baby. Unfortunately, our experience was seriously affected by a toilet that would not flush from Tuesday until Friday.
Despite two visits from staff, the problem remained unresolved. We were told to use a bucket to flush the toilet, and no alternative room was offered. My partner had to use the reception toilets at night. Having to manage this for several days, particularly while travelling with a baby, was extremely inconvenient and unacceptable.
Housekeeping and cleanliness were also inconsistent, adding to our disappointment. Given the price we paid, we expected basic facilities to work and reported problems to be dealt with promptly.
When I complained afterwards, the response referred to “occasional and isolated situations”, without adequately addressing our experience or offering a specific remedy or compensation. I subsequently requested a formal escalation and a compensation or partial refund review.
A functioning toilet is a basic expectation of any hotel stay. The failure to resolve the issue or offer another room, followed by the disappointing handling of our complaint, left us very dissatisfied.
Luna miramar is a lovely hotel in a very central location. Within 15 minutes walk to old town and half hour to new town or taxi only 5 minutes around €5. The apartment was clean and spacious with fresh towels and housekeeping each day. Staff were pleasant and any requests we had were dealt with no problem. I would not fault this hotel and reading some of the reviews would be off putting. I think it deserves better rating.
Our recent stay was an extremely disappointing experience, and unfortunately there were problems from the moment we arrived.
Upon checking in, We were told we were being given an “upgrade”, which honestly left us wondering what the original room would have been like. We had booked a double room but were given twin beds instead. The room was extremely dated and poorly maintained, with stains on the couch and shower curtain. The shower thermostat was literally being held in place with a toothpick.
The most serious issue, however, was that €200 went missing from our room during our stay. We reported this to the hotel, expecting the matter to be taken seriously. Instead, we were repeatedly told that we should have used the safety deposit box. That response was incredibly disappointing. We were also told we would have to pay €100 to replace the room key, which seemed an absolutely ridiculous charge.
Booked through LoveHolidays which gives the impression that it has gym facilities, but we subsequently discovered that the gym was actually located at their sister hotel approximately 20 minutes away.
Overall, the stay was a catalogue of disappointments: a supposedly upgraded room that was anything but, a room that didn’t match the type we booked, poor maintenance, an absurd €100 replacement-key charge, misleading expectations around the gym, and most seriously, €200 going missing from our room with what felt like a complete lack of concern from the hotel when we reported it.
Power cuts during the day and at 4am in the morning. Staff did not care after complaining 3 times. Beds were like a brick wall. Unable to lock balcony door. Dodgy lights hanging by a tiny wire from the ceiling, looked like it would collapse at any point. Staff told us that an engineer would come to fix power but did not show up. Reception staff repeatedly played with the fuse box and stated that “it’s on its way out”. We were offered no room change and no refunds. Even though the fridge had stopped working due to the power resulting in food wastage. Staff simply did not care at all. Do not book. Avoid at all costs.
