Helpful staff
Check in smooth with helpful Amna, we knew about charges for towels and safe etc and had the high floor we asked for. Room was large with a few issues sorted quickly( air-conditioning unit leaked and bathroom light blew the fuses). No porter available making things a bit awkward as wife had broken foot. However reception were wonderful and lent us a chair to get around in. Restaurant quite small and food warm at best, pool bar ok, pool itself bit small. Very easy to get to strip about 350 yards away and old town a short taxi ride. Any questions answered with help offered including Nelson the GM re places to eat or things to do Overall would recommend if you want easy access to town

Honest review
Just left from 5 nights here as a group of friends Pros
- pool gets sun the majority of the day - this doesn’t open properly until 10:30 so never got down to all reserved sunbeds
- food is available around 17 hours of the day - selection of meat, fish and vegetarian
- Close to sister hotels and can use their amenities easily
- Close to beach (10 minute walk)
- Close to the strip (5 minute walk)
- Close to the airport (40 minute taxi)
- Clean rooms
- Easy to book restaurants
- Entertainment isn’t actually that bad
- Staff were polite and always helpful
- Water always available throughout the hotel - also pop machines for Coke, iced tea etc
- Pool nice and clean
- Shower pressure was amazing
- Wine, beer, cocktails as part of AI
Cons (ish)
- not a massive amount of food choice (what is there is good quality and refreshed constantly breakfast was great!) just keep a close eye if you are vegetarian as the signs aren’t very clear on what is a veggie option
- Rooms are dated (beds are super comfy) fridge and decent kitchen also
- They cut off your all inclusive band on check out (they did give us a voucher for one meal but we were leaving the hotel 9 hours later, never had where they stop your inclusiveness until you actually leave BUT we did have places to leave our luggage and shower/change)
- Balcony door was broken, didn’t lock. We didn’t mention as we were third floor so not sure if they would have done anything about this
- As there was eight of us over two bookings - I had emailed three months prior and asked if we could have our rooms close and they couldn’t have been further apart (he also confirmed they had received my email)
- There is €100 deposit per room on arrival, not abnormal but we were not made aware of this before traveling.
- There always seemed to be abit of a struggle to get places to sit of an evening to watch the entertainment and it resulted holiday makers dragging chairs and tables from other sections to watch.
I do feel this hotel could be amazing with some small changes. I seem like I’ve badgered it a little bit but we got what we paid for, certainly isn’t a 5 star but a good 3. If I was to go back for a girls trip again I would consider going back here. I don’t think the hotel is a place to take children, with it being so close to the strip it did get abit rowdy at times.

An Okay stay! Food was a let down
I travelled as a group of 4 females, varied ages from 20’s-50’s!
Good things about the hotel Location - fabulous, 5 minutes walk from the strip however was quiet enough to get sleep at an acceptable time.
Choice - you can visit the other neighbouring hotels to visit their restaurants bars which is great so you can change up your scenery rather than visiting the same place daily. However - your key card doesn’t work in the actual different hotel gates which left us in a tricky situation of not being able to get out of another hotel grounds to get to the beach. So good concept but doesn’t fully work.
Hotel - the hotel is clean and tidy and generally in good repair for an older hotel. Pool area is an okay size and we managed to get a sunbed no problem when we went to the pool area. Staff friendly at reception, dining and bar areas.
Not so great things Food - The food was often rather cold and this included food from buffet and the Al A cartes. We visited the Tapas and Chinese restaurant and both times the food was disappointing. Tapas starter was meat on French bread and the main was .. more meat on bread! Both cold. Chinese, starters were cold and the mains although hot were dripping in oil. Breakfast was good though! English sausages I was very happy with! Also, I was poorly on the last day with an upset stomach (may have been down to food, but unsure)
Cocktails - an average selection which they are trying to offer a wide range however there was only one I liked as they were quite basic.
Rooms - are clean however they are dated and tired now. Ants on the side of the kitchen and very stained bath. Plus we didn’t receive any new towels during our 4 nights here, nor any house keeping.
Overall we had a good time in Albufriera
