California Urban Beach Hotel

My friend and I stayed at Hotel Indigo Albufeira from 30th September to 7th October, and I cannot speak highly enough of the hospitality we received throughout our stay. From the moment we arrived until the moment we departed, the staff were absolutely exceptional. Every member of the team we encountered was friendly, welcoming, helpful and genuinely interested in making sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves.

A special thank you to Flavio, who was such a lovely, warm and accommodating person. He was always checking that we were okay, asking how our day had been and taking a genuine interest in what we had been doing. Those little conversations made such a difference and really added to our experience.

Gopal at reception was another standout member of the team. He was one of the first people we met and immediately made us feel welcome. He was incredibly helpful and accommodating, and whenever he saw us, he would check that everything was okay. His friendliness and attentiveness were greatly appreciated.

And then there was Lizandro — my absolute favourite! From the moment we met him, he was welcoming, attentive and so helpful. Whenever he saw us, he made sure we were looked after and that everything was okay. He really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and I cannot thank him enough for the care and attention he showed us.

I also want to give a special mention to the spa team. The ladies were so sweet, friendly and helpful, and our spa experience was fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed our massages, which were excellent, and it was a real highlight of our stay. A huge thank you to them for making the experience so enjoyable.

What really stood out to me was that the exceptional hospitality wasn't limited to just a few individuals. From reception and housekeeping to the pool service, spa team and even the maintenance staff we encountered around the building, everyone was pleasant and welcoming. It takes a great team to create that kind of atmosphere, and the staff at this hotel should be incredibly proud of themselves.

As for the hotel itself, it is a lovely, cute little hotel in a fantastic location, right on the doorstep of Albufeira's Old Town, with everything conveniently close by. The pool is small, but the hotel suited our needs perfectly for a short stay. I had expected there to be a gym, which unfortunately wasn't the case, but that aside, we had a really enjoyable experience.

My biggest takeaway from this stay was the people. Good customer service is one thing, but genuine warmth, kindness and a willingness to go the extra mile are something special. The team made us feel welcomed, cared for and comfortable throughout our stay, and that is something I will remember.

It is convenient for walking to the old town and heading down to the beach. The room itself was a good size and generally comfortable. However, the bathroom layout was quite awkward when sharing the space with another person. Additionally, the pool area was a bit of a disappointment. It is relatively small and was so packed with guests that it was difficult to relax and properly enjoy the facilities.

We knew the hotel was near the Strip and expected some ambient noise, but the live music from the pub downstairs was exceptionally loud. It blasted until around 3 AM, and even the earplugs provided by the hotel did very little to block it out. While we understand the lively atmosphere and late-night entertainment appeal to some, the noise was simply too much for us, and we really struggled to get a good night's sleep.

Stayed here for a week for the first time . Checking in was very easy we were welcomed by the reception staff they were very helpful and friendly. Room was very nice and big we had a balcony on the ground floor which lead straight out onto the pool . We did upgrade to this thu Breakfast was lovely plenty to choose from . Staff were very helpful especially Reeta . Pool area was clean and plenty of beds to chill out . Location was spot On . Down in the lift straight to the night life . When we arrived there were ear plugs on the side and that got us a bit worried. But it was fine don’t hear anything at night hotel was very quiet . Very close to all restaurants bars and the shops . Five minutes walk to the beach . Beach was lovely and clean . Ubers were cheap and easy to get around . Would definitely recommend this hotel and would return here again .
