This luxurious apart hotel is conveniently situated in the centre of the popular holiday resort of Albufeira on the breathtaking coastline of the Algarve. The historic old town and the famous strip with its large variety of restaurants, bars, pubs and nightclubs are within a few steps, the beach is just a short stroll away. The international airport of Faro can be reached within 30 minutes by car.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
This hotel is ok, no way a four star but could go for a good three star.
Pros: Cleaners very helpful and did a good job every day. Shower very good Lots of hangers in the wardrobe Lady who checked us in was lovely and kindly gave us a free upgrade to a pool view as we were there for our anniversary. Good sized balcony. Air con worked well. Found a lounger no worries each day.
Cons: Hard beds - if we were for more than three nights I would have definitely asked for a mattress topper. Ants - these are apartments so you have some food, we were very careful and didn’t leave any food lying around. No kitchen bin so we wrapped any food in a bag before putting it in the waste paper bin. We still had a few ants though, on both the bedside tables and some on the balcony. No kitchen cloth to clean/wipe anything or basics like washing up liquid etc. We came home one night to a HUGE cockroach in the room. Barman quite rude in the bar, only had drinks one night due to this, got drinks for the room the other two nights and sat on the balcony.
Area info: Most restaurants closed near the hotel even in August - for tea you have to walk into old town unless you want a McDonald’s/KFC/Taco Bell’s etc, it there are some cafe’s open and the cake shop next door which also does toasties and some meals. Cake shop was nice for food and sangria, but obviously you wouldn’t want to eat the same place every night. Beach was not that close and not that nice, sea was freezing! Sand was sharp. Supermarket right next door so very useful. Old town wasn’t very old! All a bit Benidorm in vibe but does have some nice restaurants if you sit in the rooftops out the way. No historical areas to speak of or culture.
Immaculate hotel and very friendly, helpful staff. We stayed in a studio room with a pool view with our 11 year old granddaughter. Excellent hotel for family's. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Just back from the brisa sol and once again as returning guests we had a great holiday was in a studio pool view room was cleaned every day and was very clean sea view as well walk in shower was great beds were comfortable and air con was brilliant. Got to mention the staff the young lady at the reception never got her name was brilliant very helpful and so was the lady manager at the desk who both recognised us from being there before witch was nice. And the bar staff are a absolute credit to this hotel lovely people had some great chats and laughter 😂 with them .Overall what a fantastic holiday and thanks to all the staff once again. Just returned from a very relaxing week staying at Hotel Brisa Sol. As a family we had a lovely stay and I wanted to give you an insight into a couple of areas within the hotel. RECEPTION On arrival the reception area is spotlessly cleaned and a great amount of seating. There is a small shop within reception which was handy. There is also a small bar which was a great asset. We paid for a safe of which was 20 Euros, You got this payment back on your departure when returning the key. The reception team were always extremely helpful. ROOMS We stayed in a one bedroom apartment and it was such a spacious area. The main bedroom had two single beds together, there is ample wardrobe space and there is a safe in this room. A TV is also on the wall with British Channels. BATHROOM The bathroom was a great size with a very powerful shower. There was ample towels of which were provided daily. LOUNGE AREA/KITCHEN Such a big space spotlessly cleaned. There was a TV and sofa bed which was comfortable. The cleaners came in every day and were very friendly. POOL AREA Always plenty of sunlounges available. The pool was cleaned every night. The pool bar was excellent with a good menu. Please be aware that they do not accept cards you have to pay at the pool bar by cash. CAKE SHOP NEXT DOOR Not great for the diet but wow a wonderful selection of cakes at very good prices. LOCATION The hotel is in a wonderful location, 10 mins from the old town and the strip. Opposite the hotel is KFC and McDonalds. There is a great bar called Net @ Cafe which does great breakfasts and this is opposite Brisa Sol. As a family we spent the majority of our time in the old town as there was plenty of bars and restaurants. We also got a taxi to the Marina and ate at Fat Cats which was lovely. All in all, A great week. I would have no hesitation in staying and recommending Brisa Sol. Well done to all the Brisa Sol team.
We have just returned from a 10 day stay at the Brisa Sol. The hotel location is fabulous, a ten minute walk to the old town and far enough away from the strip not to be disturbed of an evening. There is a supermarket 2 minutes away, where you can get everything you need for a self catering holiday. The hotel is spotlessly clean in every area, the rooms are cleaned daily and the pool and snack bar are very clean. The hotel pool is great and very relaxed. They allow inflatables and balls. It doesn’t open til 9am so there is not that horrible rush for sun beds. There was always plenty of spare sun beds ( we did go before school holiday though). We visited a local waterpark called slide and splash, which was one of the best water parks we have ever been to (and we’ve been to lots). We booked the tickets for the waterpark through our Jet2 rep and got an uber there. The journey was about 25mins and cost €20. I recommend you use Ubers rather than taxis for all trips out there. It is a much cheaper option. We got an uber to the marina one evening and it cost us under €5. Now just a couple of negative points but they should in no way put you off booking here, just some things to be aware of. The hotel likes you to pay in cash at the bar and snack bar. If you don’t have cash, you have to put it on your room account and settle later, reception is the only place that takes cards. It is not really a problem but take plenty of cash with you. While the staff at the hotel are all very professional, informative when asked something and polite, I would not say they were friendly, almost stand off ish at times. We made it a daily game of ours to make eye contact with reception to get a hello. It didn’t distract from the wonderful time we had but more friendly interaction with staff would have been nice. We would 100% go back again to the Brisa sol.
