The Local Area
This elegant and comfortable hotel overlooks the sea at Sesmarias. It is less than half a mile to the nearest beach and about two miles from the centre of Albufeira which offers a wide variety of bars and restaurants. The well-tended gardens of the hotel offer a scenic backdrop of lawns and palm trees to a large outdoor pool. The Algarve's varied attractions are within easy reach of the hotel.

This is a lovely hotel . We holiday 6 times a year and by far the best breakfast I have ever had on an overseas holiday. Don't do half board as expensive compared to bread and breakfast, hotel your doing yourself no favours. Don't listen to moaners saying it's in the middle of nowhere , if you want the old town then book old town it's clear when booking that it's out of the way , do your research . The location is ok , just get an Uber at 5 euro into Gale or albufeira. No sunbed wars just peace and quiet which is bliss. Reason for 4 stars is there is damp in the room and around the hotel. Book if you don't mind cheap Ubers to get to tourist places in the heart of it.
Relaxing stay!
We have had a very chilling time here at the Baía Grande. The staff have certainly made it warm and welcoming. Their friendliness and humour has not gone unnoticed. Ingrid, Sergio, Andre and Kavan. Thank you!
Misleading "Suite" and Uninhabitable Room (Room 336 Q) – Zero Service
Do not be fooled by what this hotel calls a "suite." It is simply two small connecting rooms, one of which was completely unusable due to a severe, nauseating mold smell. Our daughter was supposed to sleep in the second room, but the stench made it impossible. We reported this to reception immediately, but the staff completely ignored our complaint and offered no solution whatsoever. As a result, the three of us had to share one bed. To add insult to injury, the bed wasn't even a double—just two single beds pushed together with separate bedding. Paying suite prices for a moldy, single-room experience with zero customer service is unacceptable. We have requested a 50% refund for Room 336 Q. Avoid this hotel if you expect basic hygiene and responsive service.

Lovely hotel
Wonderful stay at the Baia Grand. Beautiful room with sea views, great shower and comfy beds. Breakfast was very good, lots to choose from and all very tasty. Staff were friendly, special mention to Lucas who gave us great advice about the getting to the cliffs, such a friendly, helpful guy who always had a smile and greeting for us. Bar was a bit pricey but to be expected in such a lovely hotel. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway then this could be the place for you but it is out a bit from the towns. We didn’t mind as we just walked to the local eateries, all mostly within 1 km. Overall, a very nice stay which we really enjoyed.

Check your receipts
Please check your bill before you pay . We think we where overcharged but couldn't prove because we were not given copies of the individual charges and the reception staff had thrown them away. The food was very bland . The entertainment equally boring. The room was clean .
