Amazing hotel - a must stay!
We have absolutely loved our stay here and, honestly, I’m surprised this isn’t a 5-star hotel because it really does feel like one.
We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, and the breakfast was an easy 10/10. There was a fantastic variety of food every morning, everything was fresh and great quality, and there was something for everyone.
The pool area is one of the best we’ve experienced. We never once struggled to get a sunbed, no matter what time we went down, and there was always plenty of space to relax. The pool itself is lovely, and the pool snacks and drinks are excellent quality while still being really affordable.
The rooms are immaculate. They’re modern, spotless and incredibly well looked after. We also loved the hotel’s eco-friendly initiative where, if you don’t need your room cleaned every day, you receive a £5 voucher to spend at the pool bar. It’s a brilliant idea that rewards guests while helping the environment.
The cleanliness throughout the hotel is exceptional. Even the poolside toilets are kept spotless all day, which says a lot about the standards here.
Every member of staff we met was genuinely friendly, welcoming and happy to help. From reception to the bar staff, everyone made us feel at home and nothing ever seemed too much trouble.
The absolute highlight has to be the rooftop bar. The views are breathtaking, the atmosphere is so relaxed, the drinks are reasonably priced, and the staff there are just as fantastic. It’s the perfect place to watch the sun go down.
One thing to mention is that there are quite a few seagulls around during the day. If you’re not a fan of birds, it’s worth knowing, but we actually found them quite entertaining and they added a bit of character to the place!
Being an adults-only hotel makes such a difference too. The whole atmosphere is calm, relaxing and peaceful. Whether you’re here for a chilled holiday or planning to enjoy Albufeira’s nightlife before returning somewhere quiet to unwind, this hotel is ideal.
The location is perfect – it’s close enough to Albufeira’s Strip if you fancy a night out, but far enough away that you can still enjoy peace and quiet. It’s also really easy to get to the Old Town with an Uber, which costs around £6 at most. (Top tip: if you’re heading to the Old Town, set your destination as the escalators of old town)
Without a doubt, this is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. I wouldn’t hesitate to return, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, relaxing, friendly and fantastic-value stay in Albufeira.

Excellent Hotel in Albufeira
This hotel is very clean and modern. The staff are really helpful and friendly. Very nice pool area and dining area. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in Albufeira.

If you're over 30 don't bother
This is the third time we have stayed at Aqua Pedra dos Bicos and it will be our last. The hotel has transformed from a lovely couples hotel into a just a stop over place for the nearby nightlife strip.
On our visit groups of men horded the pool, drinking supermarket cans of beer, and getting louder by the hour. When I ( and others) reported this to the main reception we got a shrug of the shoulders,
This is now a youth hostel not a hotel. 18-30 year old's come and go throughout the night until 06.00 when the nearby strip closes. With Kebab boxes left outside rooms, noise levels, and the general behavior of the guests, the whole experience was probably the worst I have ever had at a hotel.
The hotel is surrounded by its own apartments which house even more young people screaming , shouting and drinking until they fall asleep at 7.00am.
If you are looking for a relaxing stay, I suggest that you go somewhere else. Its a shame as this was once a lovely adults hotel.
Classy hotel , few negatives
Excellent hotel and in a good location. Our rooms were nice and large with excellent air con. The Free safe is a nice touch plus the bottle water on arrival. There was the wife and I (chez and Nick) and our friends , Niki n Gaz . We both had the same vibes about the hotel tho. It is a bit of a retreat for stag n hen parties. Altho noticed that Portugal has changed over the years to cater more for this.Breakfast was lovely and so was the hotel. The room service was first class. Although Both our towel rails on the balconies were hanging off the walls ! But this is more of a maintenance issue ! The thing that really lets it down are the bar prices ! Any wonder people nip over to the supermarket for their beers ! Would defo return to the area but would check out the pool prices next time. As the wife says”it’s not all about drinking Nick “! But this time, r chez mite agree with me !

Enjoyable stay.
Not long back from a 10-night stay at this hotel. I can echo what a lot of people have already said. Very classy feel, spotlessly clean, superb breakfast, great pool area, bar areas all excellent with amazing views from the rooftop bar (pics attached). Rooms spacious with a massive, comfortable bed. Overall throughly enjoyed our time here.
Sadly, there was one day at the pool with a large group of young lads who were being quite loud and generally disrespectful. Bar staff did come and have a word with them but they didn’t really take notice.
Staff worked tirelessly to make sure everything was ok for their guests. Thank you to them for that and thank you for a nice visit.
