Alfagar I Village

We loved all the entertainment activities that Bellux provided during our stay. We were fully entertained from pool games, to grass games, the evening shows and mini discos.

We love staying in Alfagar we have been coming for over 30+ years with different family generations and we wouldnt go anywhere else. The restaurants, pools, apartments, gardens are brilliant.

Excellent place for all the ages in our family.

We will be back next year, as usual.

We had an amazing time as a family on this beautiful resort - 10 mins from albufueira town centre. Lots of pools, access to a hidden beach, great food and the Bellux entertainment team (Nuno, Christian, Helio, Joana, and Ines) provided excellent fun and games (archery, water polo, Molky, volleyball and some other games with prizes) which kept kids AND adults engaged and entertained everyday (except Mondays). Thanks again to the Bellux team and hospital staff.

Stayed here for a week as a family and as our first time in Portugal, the resort itself is very large and has plenty of pools for the kids and adults to enjoy, also has plenty of food places to enjoy everything from a buffet to an individual meal choice.

The entertainment advertised, music wise seems to let it down, bar the Sunday night in the Burganvilla bar nowhere else seemed any good, the female and male duo they had in the Cafeteria on the Saturday night was nice to listen to while eating though, the kareoke that was advertised in Burganvilla was no good either, seemed mostly kids bar one women for the length i was there even bothered, also talking about the Burganvilla bar, unless you seem to sit outside and have a meal it takes quite a while to get served at the bar if you sit inside for a simple round of drinks as the outside public seem to take priority.

Back to first checking in though, had to wait only a short while mind to be checked in and have access to the rooms which luckily was still before the official check in time which was good, also was provided transport to take us to our apartment which was good also, however to one of the minor downfalls now is the rooms themselves, very dated as others have said before, everything down from the colours of the walls to the flooring itself, also lack of attention to detail really, small things that make it look worse, stuff like scruffed paint around the interior doors and door frames, also paint missing off the walls where its been chipped off, small things where if just painted over would improve it greatly.

Had breakfast included with our holiday but only used it twice as it wasn't really anything to shout about, the coffee thats included via the machine was poor, the orange juice also from the machines was very poor, however the sausages on the breakfast were good though!

We also tried Giovanni's restuarant and this place is decent also, the seafood linguine i had was beautiful and would highly recommend, the main event though was the food from the Cafeteria restuarant, absoultely stunning i went for the steak and it was cooked beutifully to how i like (mid-rare) and everything from the taste to the presentation was spot on, the Orange pie was lovely also and the Rose portuguese wine was spot on.

A spa is advertised on site yet myself i wouldn't call it a spa, i paid €10 for 45 minutes for the spa to find out it consisted off a Sauna and a Steam room in an area with 3 showers and the Steam room wasn't on and when i quieried was told you have to individually pay €10 to use both which i find a bit cheeky considering noone else was in there and they are literally next door to one another, i now know why noone else was in there because of the need to pay separately.

Also being a family resort i was surprised to see some women were able to be allowed to sunbathe topless without noone saying anything.

Also the Red Bar, Saturday came and there was 3pm Premier League games being played and the Red Bar being a supposed 'sports bar' was shut! how does that make sense? best league in the world and not showing the football in a sports bar.

Overall, nice place for families that just requires some TLC in the rooms, maybe a job during the winter time when the place isn't as busy? also entertainment options need to be better and also use a sports bar as a sports bar.
