This superb beach aparthotel is located on a small hill overlooking the majestic ocean, close to Albufeira. The complex is a mere 1.5 km away from the sandy beach, and enjoys private access by steps through the touristic village of Alfagar. Guests will find themselves in close proximity to a host of attractions and entertainment venues and is just a few minutes' driving distance away from the bustling town of Albufeira. Guests will appreciate the relaxing environment and beautiful surroundings, and are always close to the heart of the entertainment. This charming complex invites guests into tastefully-decorated surroundings which exude a sense of calmness and tranquility. The guest apartments offer a relaxing home away from home in which to completely unwind in comfort.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Overall, not bad but not good.
The rooms are badly in need of renovation but they are clean but very basic. The wi-fi is terrible and lasts only a few minutes before cut-out over and over again.
The pool is a good size and fine for kids big and small. The beaches is 20mins walk away.
Firstly, do not go Full board nor Half board. The dinner buffet was awful. It's made for kids- chips, pizza, spaghetti etc - but adult food is sadly lacking. The quality is poor and bland. Steaks are all fat no meat, pasta overcooked and lasagne was like rubber, fish looked unappealing. Horrible so don't bother. We waited 45mins for a drinks order that never showed. €22a head was a complete waste of money.
However, in contrast, the breakfast buffet is really good. Lots of choice, freshly cooked. Fruit juice is cheap rubbish but plenty of other options.
The worst thing of all are the entertainers. They are beyond awful and very annoying. 10am, 12pm, 3pm the guy comes out, plugs in his speaker and starts yelling utter gibberish non-stop for an hour in broken English. It's the same 10 songs every time on a loop blasted out. There is NO peace by the pool at all.
At night the entertainers are just as annoying. My son and I were playing pool when the female African entertainer interrupted us three times and ask us to play music² bingo. She took my son's cue off him saying "I'm good at pool!". I told her to F off as 'No' clearly didn't work three times over.
There are 2 pool tables and an air hockey but it needs more arcade games as kids are running around at night bored causung mayhem. As the World Cup was in there was only 1 TV in the bar.
Overall, I won't stay there again.
Highly recommend for families.Safe, clean, good location, spacious apartment, variety of pools and restaurants.
We visited this hotel in July 2026 for five nights as a family of four with a 5 year old and 2 year old.
Overall we found this to be a great hotel for our age of children and in five days we didn't really have much reason to leave as the overall complex with sister hotels is huge.
We only used some of the many pools available but the kids splash park and pool with the slides was a huge hit with our two. The little baby pool was great for toodling around with our 2 year old and the bigger pool was a nice size to have floats in. We were always able to get sun loungers AM and PM and staff were really good at enforcing the 'no sunbed reserving' rule. We thought the pool bar was also great with a selection of drinks, snacks and ice creams. Having a good kids playpark on site was also fantastic although in the scorching sun it did get too hot to use in the afternoon. Our eldest went to the kids club for a 2 hour slot one afternoon and had a great time despite it being just him and one other child - they did lots of arts and craft type things. There were a few arcade style games dotted around. We didn't really use/experienece any of the entertainment.
The location was fine for us on a relatively short trip - we got a bus in and taxi back from Albufeira, both were about 7euros once and went to the beach once - this was a bit of a walk back for little legs but you can see that on Maps.
Food wise we were half board. We used the great kitchen facilities in the room for lunch most days and ate in the Tavern bar twice which had a fine selection for lunch. We thought breakfast and dinner were really good. There was a really big selection of kid friendly and adult friendly dishes, a big fruit and veg selection and a lovely choice of desserts in the evening. We liked the little touch of having kids bowls and cutlery availble and that the kid friendly part was lower for them to reach. There were no drinks included with dinner, it would have been nice to have complimentary tap water or maybe refillable fizzy drinks or similar.
We were in a first floor room overlooking the main pool. The bedroom with two singles was comfortable with lots of storage and enough spare bedding to cushion the floor in case of the little one falling out of her first big bed! There was an in room safe. The sofa bed in the living room was disappointing as it wasn't fold-out - it was sort of dismantled into two singles so a) we had to sleep separtely b) there wasn't a sofa to sit on to watch tv etc c) the sheets got all covered in crumbs/suncream because they were always out. I also found the sofa bed very soft and had a sore back after a couple of nights. We found the room to be quite noisy as during the day it was above the pool entertainment and at night above the little stage and near the end of the corridor where the door to the stairs slammed late into the night. The balcony was enourmous and the kitchen really well equipped. The aircon was much-needed and effective. We thought the wristband-come-room key was a great idea to avoid constantly trying to find/remember a keycard!
Staff were generally friendly throughout.
Just done the quiz at alfagar resort
Good fun came second
the host leo was amazing fab energy good fun for us and the kids
The hotel is very good and the room is spacious and comfortable. The pools are very nice and perfect for our family and just right for kids. Waterpark is a bonus as the girls and even us adults enjoyed. Breakfast was great, a lot of choice and food is tasty. The beach is a bit far but is nice, besides there was a lot of seaweed but the water was so warm and had great waves! The negative part was that for 5 nights that we stayed there, the cleaning lady only cleaned once. This was a big failure and should not happen.
Besides this point, I recommend this hotel to any family looking for a great hotel, great location and with young children.
