Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Just returned from our second stay at Ap Adriana - we had a fantastic 8 nights and would consider going again.
We ate lunch at the grill restaurant every day and the daily BBQ there was a highlight of our trip! We loved it - also the coffee at the bar near the grill was the best on site, worth the walk down there.
We love that the hotel has a lively pool but also a quiet alternative a 5 minute walk away. The hotel is spread out over a large area, something we like as we enjoyed walking around the beautiful grounds (high five to the gardeners - they do an excellent job).
Beach access is great and on such a stunning part of the Algarve, cliff top walks in both directions I would recommend too (not with children mind!)
Entertainment staff were brilliant! Something for all ages to get involved in if they wish to, but also no pressure.
Finally, we had a medical issue whilst there and the receptionist was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, thank you.

BEST AVOIDED-DO NOT RECOMMEND Hugely disappointing AI Resort, claimed 4T Rating on TUI -utterly Unbelievable.
Does not meet any elements of achieving a 4-Star hotel status. Staff very curt with guests in dining areas, actual rudeness experienced myself.
Arrived 27/7 at 00:30 and given a double room (booked and paid for twin), deeply inappropriate as travelling with my late Teens Son. Lost a day to the fuss and inconvenience of waiting to move to room that was booked and paid for -“Twin Superior”, with small balcony.Had to separate beds by moving furniture, room small and dated, shower room equally needs a refurb. Noisy AC, noisy room fridge in Wardrobe. Dining -food very poor choices, poorly cooked (raw chicken), regurgitated from prev dining session. Breakfast very poor. No GF options (Coeliac), (had to “ask” and given poor offerings, no GF cereals, fruit mostly brick hard, lots of very poorly cooked, prepared and presented options, no skill or flair. Large buffet dining room like a zoo, rude staff clearing, extremely noisy and poorly stocked. Breakfast clearing starts 30 minutes before close advertised time, staff unfriendly and abrupt whilst doing so.
Large area hotel -17 acres , but mostly accommodation blocks. Poor entertainment for adults, Pools small and loungers insufficient for hotel capacity. Hotel seems oversubscribed-nothing much to do and in a remote area with only Albufeira /Vilamoura as reasonable taxi options.
Booked an Algarve Mall trip via TUI App, was cancelled and re-scheduled for 2 days later, no real apology or explanation
I think this hotel presents itself as something it simply is NOT Not a 4 star/T rated hotel-NOT the level of a proper AI resort either. Its a poor offering (quite costly, poor value), spoke with several others who felt quite cheated by this hotel, and would not return. My advice -stay away , from what I have heard from experienced others-AI in Portugal is a total waste of money, if you want to come here-simply book self catering, or fine out, least you will know what you are eating etc.
Cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired here, grounds maint whilst necessary, is AM intrusive several days out of a week stay.
We recently stayed at AP Adriana Beach Resort and, unfortunately, it didn’t live up to our expectations. Having stayed at several other 4* all-inclusive resorts, this was one of the most disappointing experiences we’ve had.
The biggest let-down was the food. There was very little variety, and it became repetitive after just a couple of days. There was no dedicated children’s section, which made meal times more difficult for families. Oddly, lunch often had more choice than dinner. The restaurant also struggled to cope with the number of guests, with not enough tables available at busy times. Food options weren’t topped up quickly enough, meaning popular items were often empty. There was a grill restaurant, but it was simply the same food as the buffet presented in a different way, rather than offering anything different. Breakfast was also disappointing, with hot food frequently being cold.
There were also no themed evenings throughout our stay, apart from one Portuguese night. Ironically, this was the one evening where there was a noticeable improvement in both the quality and variety of the food, showing that the hotel was clearly capable of producing a much better dining experience.
One thing we did notice was that the restaurant seemed to run much more smoothly whenever management were present. There was a noticeable improvement in the organisation, tables were cleared more efficiently, and the overall dining experience felt much better managed. Unfortunately, this level of organisation wasn’t consistent throughout the rest of our stay.
The outdoor bar area was often left untidy, with dirty tables covered in used glasses, cups and plates that weren’t cleared promptly.
The pool areas themselves were lovely, and the direct access to the beautiful beach was definitely one of the highlights of the resort.
Unfortunately, the atmosphere created by many of the other guests wasn’t enjoyable. We regularly saw people pushing in front of others in queues, reaching over children to grab food, being loud and inconsiderate, and reserving sun loungers early in the morning despite not using them for hours.
Our room also fell below the standard we’d expect from a 4* resort. The blackout curtain was in a disgusting condition and clearly needed replacing. The bathroom also lacked a decent level of cleaning throughout the week, with standards not improving during our stay.
The entertainment for children had some positives, including the mini disco. Unfortunately the character meet and greets and reptile encounter was disappointing that you had to pay if you wanted a photo with the characters or animals.
Another frustration was the arcade. Several machines took our euros but didn’t work, which was disappointing for the children.
If you’re planning to get out and explore the area, we would highly recommend a visit to Zoomarine. It was one of the highlights of our holiday and well worth a visit, especially for families.
Overall, while the location, pools and beach access were excellent, they weren’t enough to make up for the poor food, cleanliness issues and overall experience. Sadly, we wouldn’t recommend AP Adriana Beach Resort, and we certainly wouldn’t return.
We stayed as a family of 3 adults and a 3yr old . Firstly positives review. Always able to get a sunbed around splash pool and main pool plenty of umbrellas also. Resort is very clean and staff are very helpful and polite, reception team are always helpful and informative. We stayed in block J and room had 4 beds with adequate space and large bathroom. Plenty storage so overall pleased with room. Only slight issue was ants which if you are ground floor is to be expected. Restaurants are as expected for AI , mainly aimed at European palate as lots fish and meat {mainly pork & chicken) , Salad bar very good . Only niggle is very repetitive and lunch time more choice and better than evening . negatives are no burgers/nuggets or pizza or sausages for smaller children, pizza only at lunchtime and burgers only as snacks in between restaurant times so struggled to find anything in evening other than pasta. Wine awful cider lovely all on tap in restaurant . Overall lovely hotel but needs to cater more for small children . Nothing outside of hotel so you need an uber to go anywhere as no bars or restaurants within a 15 min taxi ride, Beach steps are about 90 in total fine going down hard with a toddler coming up and no facilities or shade on beach, sea very choppy and cold but is Atlantic, Would I go back yes if all I wanted to do was sit by pool and not venture out but only for a week
Honestly the biggest suprise I have ever had when booking a hotel. I was not expecting that kind of quality, at all! This hotel is amazing! The pictures do not show you how great and big the hotel is. But by far the best two things about the hotel are the food and the staff! Absolutly world class. From the cleaning lady to the guy working at the bar, what an amazing staff! By far also the best entertainment team I have ever experience in a hotel! We will be coming back for sure!! So but so worth it!
