The Vincent Boutique Suites

Just got back a couple of days ago after a four night stay at the Vincent Boutique. Located on the quieter end of Replublic street, it is close enough to all main sights without being stuck in the middle of crowds. When leaving the hotel to explore, instead of turning right and heading up Republic street, we found it much better to turn left, then right on your Merchant street, nicer walk. Atmospherics decorated with stone walls, tiled floors in main areas, lovely spiral stone stairs, and roof area with a plunge pool. The views up here are breathtaking. We stayed in a junior suite with a small balcony, plenty of room and quality furnishings, big comfy bed. The only little issue was the shower floor would be soaked and came into the main room, we mopped up after showers, this was only a little problem for us as we were busy enjoying each others company and Valletta, so a wet floor wasn’t going to be a big problem for us. The hotel staff were great, and a special thanks to Julie, she was awesome. Well recommended

A truly beautiful hotel, completely newly refurbished to a beautiful standard, located in a 17th century townhouse. Situated right in the heart of Valletta, but very calm and peaceful, no noise at all. We stayed in the ‘Mediterranea’ suite, which was so beautiful, with a really comfortable bed and AC, and sparkling clean bathroom (the shower tray does flood a little bit but just put the mat down and all is ok!), and the highlight was a traditional Maltese enclosed balcony overlooking the street, which was nice to have a morning espresso and look out over the hustle and bustle. The staff are very friendly and accommodating too. Special mention: the rooftop pool- small but so peaceful and zen, with the most amazing view out over the bay, we had it to ourselves for one whole afternoon and it was bliss!

What an absolutely charming little hotel! From the unique rooms (every one was different), to the mini pool with the stunning view, and the quiet, cool (very important in the September heat), outdoor breakfast area. Located in the heart of Valletta, this hotel had everything! Walking to distance to all the major attractions in the area (or a quick walk to the ferry), a cute little shop on the corner for supplies for impromptu balcony picnics, quick shopping for clothes after the airlines misplaces your luggage (thank you Marks and Spencer), and abundant dining choices just up the street (Locanda Toscana was a favorite). Our room was the Quindicesima deluxe room. With stone arches, a balcony over-looking the quiet street (and a bonus door to open to check the weather each morning), and one of the biggest bathrooms I've seen in a hotel recently, we couldn't have been happier! We made a lot of use of our balcony, sipping coffee, snacking, watching the little cat peek out from the opposite gallarija, watching the workmen impressively setup and take down a whole crane assembly in one day, and just people watching. There was also a complementary mini bar (unexpected and a nice surprise!) and coffee service in the room. Definitely request a deluxe room when booking. We also made more use of the rooftop pool then we expected to. It was such a nice way to end a hot day touring Malta. And the views at night are just stunning! Seeing every building light up as the sun goes down was the best way to end the day. I cannot praise enough the people working at this hotel! I feel so bad that we didn't write down anyone's name but I would like single out the young woman who checked us in and the man from Slovenia who worked the night shift (?). The young woman was so helpful when we were having our lost luggage issue. She helped us get into contact with the Malta airport when we were having trouble and helped us navigate through the system. Everyone was so very friendly and helpful, greeting us every time we came in and answering our multitude of questions. They had umbrellas for use on the day it rained and towels to borrow for our boat trip to the Blue Lagoon. The service here was impeccable! We are already talking about returning to Malta and when we do, this is where we are going to stay.

(Just a heads-up: Double and triple-check your reservation. I accidentally put down one person instead of two on the reservation and we were charged an extra €50 per night for the second person. The extra €350 unexpected expense was a hit to our budget and we wound up really reducing our dining out and souvenir shopping.)
