Welcome to Domus Zamittello, a restored 17th century palazzo, ideally located at the beginning of Republic Street, just as one enters the cultural capital city of Valletta. Domus Zamittello invites guests to enjoy the vibrant and cultural baroque capital along with its high-end shopping addresses whilst appreciating the architectural beauty of this prestigious building. The hotel offers accommodation in different elegantly designed classic rooms, some overlooking the hotel courtyard whilst those on South Street overlook the open theatre.This comfortable Hotel is located in Valletta. This elegant 17th Century home had originally been part of the earlier estate of the Auberge D'Italie, one of the langues of the Order of St John. Recent research dates the palazzo back to 1633 when it was used by various knights of Italian descent. and was then known as Casa Pensa. In 1805, after the departure from Malta of the Knights of St John, the British Governor granted ownership of the palazzo to Sir Giuseppe Nicola Zamitt, for services to the Crown. In recent years, the present Count of Mont'Alto, a descendant of Sir Giuseppe Nicola Zamitt after whom the palazzo is now named, embarked on a project to enlarge it and restore the entire property to its former glory. Opened in 2018, Domus Zamittello has 21 elegant and comfortable rooms, out of which six suites, five of which are spacious duplexes. The spacious 125 sq m sun terrace on the third floor overlooks Republic Street, as well as the entrance to Valletta, the Triton Fountain and beyond. Reception service is available 24 hours a day.

Great hotel
The hotel staff provided wonderful service from morning breakfast to evening recommendations for meals. Truly one of the most friendly and helpful hotels we have ever used. Rooms were comfortable with good appointments and comfortable temperature controls. It was an outstanding stay.

An Exceptional Stay in the Heart of Valletta
An Outstanding Hotel in the Heart of Valletta
Domus Zamittello was absolutely outstanding and exceeded our expectations in every way! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the beautiful hotel, exceptional service and attention to detail.
Our room was spacious, with air conditioning and an oversized king bed that was incredibly comfortable. The nightly turndown service was a lovely touch. Breakfast was delicious, with an extensive variety of hot and cold options, including freshly squeezed orange juice.
Every member of the staff, from reception and housekeeping to the bar and restaurant team, was friendly, polite and attentive. A special mention to Maria, who was exceptionally kind, offered wonderful recommendations for exploring Malta, and was such a pleasure to talk with.
The service extended right through to checkout. We were told to leave our luggage in our room, and the staff took care of everything until it was time to leave. The airport transfer was convenient, punctual and luxurious, with a spacious electric van.
One of the hotel's highlights is its terrace, with spectacular views overlooking the main street on one side and an open-air theatre on the other. We were fortunate enough to be there on a Saturday evening during a festival celebrating the end of summer and the beginning of winter. With live music throughout the streets and restaurants, marching bands parading down the main street, and an orchestra and vocalist performing in the theatre, it was an unforgettable evening. We enjoyed dinner on the terrace while watching the crowds and taking in the wonderful atmosphere. With beautiful weather, it was simply magical!
Domus Zamittello is more than just a beautiful hotel. It offers comfort, luxury, exceptional hospitality and a wonderful location right in the heart of Valletta. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Malta.

Spectacular customer service in a beautiful hotel, ideally located for visiting Valletta. Wonderful breakfast. Everyone at front desk was warm and helpful. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Beautiful Hotel with Incredible Staff!
Cannot say enough about this amazing hotel. The staff is insanely skilled, so warm and friendly and wonderful. Our luggage was lost on a flight from Greece...we had it forwarded to the hotel BEFORE WE EVEN CHECKED IN, and our host (I believe his name was Mohit) monitored the luggage situation for a full 48 hours until it safely arrived. The hotel did not have to make this kind accommodation for us, but they did so with kindness and professionalism. The breakfast was delicious, the location is fantastic, the room is lovely. But it's really the staff that makes the hotel exceptional...they went to great lengths to make sure we felt at home in Malta. Don't even think about booking anywhere else, and thank you thank you thank you to the entire staff at the hotel for being so phenomenal at your jobs.

Friendly, comfortable hotel
The hotel has an excellent location in Valletta. Central but quiet. The staff are very caring and are anxious to please. They are very good at making recommendations and suggestions. The room was very comfortable with all the necessary amenities. Breakfast was made to order with a good selection available. We had the hotel's private chauffeur for the day who showed us things about Malta we would not have been aware of. As part of this the hotel organised a private wine tasting at Ta Betta vineyard which was lovely. Overall we would highly recommend the hotel.
