Welcome to Domus Zamittello, a restored 17th century palazzo, ideally located at the beginning of Republic Street, just as one enters the cultural capital city of Valletta. Domus Zamittello invites guests to enjoy the vibrant and cultural baroque capital along with its high-end shopping addresses whilst appreciating the architectural beauty of this prestigious building. The hotel offers accommodation in different elegantly designed classic rooms, some overlooking the hotel courtyard whilst those on South Street overlook the open theatre.This comfortable Hotel is located in Valletta. This elegant 17th Century home had originally been part of the earlier estate of the Auberge D'Italie, one of the langues of the Order of St John. Recent research dates the palazzo back to 1633 when it was used by various knights of Italian descent. and was then known as Casa Pensa. In 1805, after the departure from Malta of the Knights of St John, the British Governor granted ownership of the palazzo to Sir Giuseppe Nicola Zamitt, for services to the Crown. In recent years, the present Count of Mont'Alto, a descendant of Sir Giuseppe Nicola Zamitt after whom the palazzo is now named, embarked on a project to enlarge it and restore the entire property to its former glory. Opened in 2018, Domus Zamittello has 21 elegant and comfortable rooms, out of which six suites, five of which are spacious duplexes. The spacious 125 sq m sun terrace on the third floor overlooks Republic Street, as well as the entrance to Valletta, the Triton Fountain and beyond. Reception service is available 24 hours a day.

Fantastic experience
What’s wonderful experience. The hotel is perfect stay , from the central location to the nicest staff and hospitality of the attentive manager greeting all guests every morning with a great smile and helpful conversation. The room is spacious and very clean with a nice strong A/C during summer season. Breakfast is with a great variety à la cart with eggs fresh juice etc. They arranged airport transfers and transportation to boat tour . Perfect stay at beautiful facility. Will definitely be back and recommend to friends and family. Thank you for the Malta cross gift upon departure

Everything we could have wished for, and more
We loved everything about the hotel. The lovely elegant decoration and furnishings, the excellent breakfast served to your table, the amazingly peaceful roof terrace, and mostly the staff, who just couldn't do enough for you. A calm and peaceful Oasis in a beautiful historic City.
A gem of a boutique hotel in a wonderful location
This is truly a gem of a small boutique hotel. Wonderful location, right on Republic Street, the main pedestrian street of Valletta, and next to the rebuilt Royal Theater, the open air opera house. Short walk to the co-cathedral, museums, and many restaurants and shops. Despite its location, my room (and the room of my friends) was quiet. A pleasant verandah on the third floor overlooking Republic Street, and we so enjoyed listening to the symphony and singers practicing for an upcoming performance. The staff were very gracious and accommodating, and housekeeping was excellent. I couldn't recommend more highly.

Wonderful Hotel
This was not our first visit and it won’t be the last we are very lucky to have found such a beautiful hotel.The staff go above and beyond to make everyone feel at home.Their knowledge of the island is amazing and they make time for everyone especially during breakfast helping guests as required how to find places of interest.Many visitors may have never visited Malta before. All staff are very helpful nothing was too much trouble. The bedrooms are all superb with lovely cotton sheets the towels are nice and fluffy and if you need extra pillows you only have to ask.As you walk through the door you notice a beautiful relaxing hotel with no waiting to check in the reception staff immediately get up from their desk to greet you and help with the luggage. As this is a small hotel you will notice straight away that you are a valued visitor to their establishment and not just a name like you find in larger hotels.

A 4 day break in Valletta.
The hotel is in a great location. Our room was well appointed and getting a king bed was much appreciated. This is not a full service hotel but anything you might need that they don’t have is available just a short walk away. The greatest thing about this hotel however is the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. They didn’t just respond to requests they anticipated your every need.
