3 day break staying at the George Urban hotel
3 day break. Location had good access to transportation but not picturesque by any means. Atmosphere surrounding hotel busy,messy, lively. Inside quiet. Rooms were very standard although large, we had to change our room as there was issue with damp smell, cleanliness. All felt a bit worn out and not well maintained. Value for money I suppose. The saving grace were the reception team who when confronted with any issue resolved them promptly and were a source of knowledge and experience of the are. They were a delight. Credit to hotel. The spa experience was just that! Not great, not organised and again not clean. All a bit dark and dingy. The roof top pool was ok served a purpose but again worn and a little unkept. It has its place for a pit stop but that would be it.
Central hotel in a side street.
Location is on a side street in St Julian. That means building works, street itself is a bit drab. But don’t let that fool you. The hotel is very nice, and staff could not be more helpful and accommodating (even when patrons are unreasonable…). Terrific simple breakfast, with some local additional pastries, but continental and British otherwise. Nice, though, really nice. Rooms are good sized, towels for pools provided on request, as are robes and slippers. Quite large hotel for what you’d think as ‘boutique’, with a modern cool atmosphere.
In terms of noise (this being party-central St Julian…), it’s actually quite quiet. The advantages, I suppose, of being on a side street. But particularly na can be noisy ( we were here four nights, but me night woken up by late revellers arriving in room next to ours). But hey, you’re on holiday, let people be happy.
Upper floor has also a terrace pool, with an adjacent bar. The bar could be a little more developed, but then we noticed that we (middle-aged) were the only ones paying attention. All other much younger patrons were more concerned with being by the pool to see and be seen (bless…).
Ok value wise, but I suppose it’s the location that makes this a little dearer. Happy to have come here, though. And a shoutout to Sheila at reception — organised our own one-day tour so well, kept us right all the way.

Hotel perfect for party goers not families
Booked mostly because stated family friendly hotel and that it is a boutique 4 star. Not a family friendly hotel. Perfect for 18 year olds and up who want to party but not for families. Way too noisy throughout the night once the party comers return back to hotel this can be from 2am to 5am... Hotel based in party Central of St Julians. No resturant in hotel no bar area in hotel, bar roof top pool which closes early evening. So leaves you that you have to leave hotel to get a drink or if you return home early when the party goers have left you can only go to your room. Doesn't have the feel of a 4 star hotel bar the reception area. Rooms are spacious.

Nice hotel, clean, spacious room, great breakfast and lovely staff who were all very helpful. Now for the down side - if you’re a family think twice about staying in St Julians it’s very lively and attracts large numbers of young adults and teenagers who are drinking in the bars, clubs and streets to 4:00 to 05:00 in the morning so you can imagine the noise in the streets outside the hotel. The place is like a building site - construction going on everywhere with dirty unkept streets. The hotel was full of young people who were mostly lovely and respectful but you always have the rowdy one’s as well. A couple of rooms up from ours was s group of young lads and girls who played loud hard core music from their balcony which we complained about several times, it wasn’t until our fourth day that the staff managed to put a stop to it but by this stage between noise during the day by the music and the street noise we were ready to walk out so be aware what you are booking if you book this hotel or any other in this area. I would go back to Malta again tomorrow but would stay no where near St Julians. If your looking somewhere a bit quieter but still close enough to the night life Sliema is perfect and still within walking distance,
Excellent Hotel Despite an Unexpected Stopover
Our flight was cancelled, and the airline booked this hotel for us for one night. We were pleasantly surprised by the experience.
The hotel is located in the heart of Paceville, surrounded by plenty of bars, clubs, and restaurants, making it a great choice if you want to enjoy the area's nightlife.
The hotel was very clean, the staff were welcoming and helpful, and the room was spacious, modern, and very comfortable. We honestly didn't expect such a high standard from an airline-arranged hotel, but it exceeded our expectations.
Overall, it was a very pleasant stay, and I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Paceville.
