Radisson Blu Resort St Julians

TripAdvisor Review
Malta and Gozo, Europe
St Julians

One of the many things that draws people to Malta is the beautiful views – and that's one of the hallmarks of the Radisson Blu Resort St Julian's. Take a look out of any window and you'll see the wide open expanse of the Mediterranean. Panoramic views take in St Julian's too and give a real sense of space and freedom.

One of the major draws is of course the water – not just the sea itself, but the indoor and outdoor pools that fill the resorts. No wonder then that the Radisson Blu Resort St Julian's is so very popular – not only is there easy access to the seashore, but it boasts three stunning outdoor pools (two at the water's edge), as well as a heated indoor pool. Add to that a diving centre and there's plenty here to keep water babies happy.

Relish the wide open views and endless seascapes from the Radisson Blu Resort St Julian's:

'Immaculate' sums up the Radisson Blu Resort St Julian's. Approaching the hotel for the first time you'll be impressed by its perfect frontage and impeccable reception area; its three restaurants and two bars, including a seasonal lido bar.

Your room will continue the same high quality – wood panelled floors, rich furnishings and those spectacular views to Gozo in the north all help to remind you that this is a five star hotel in every respect. Rooms feature a private balcony with country or side sea views, en-suite bathroom, hairdryer, free toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities, mini-fridge (available on request), air conditioning/heating, in-room safe, cable and pay TV and free Wi-Fi.

Check out the leisure centre and you'll discover the indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna and supervised gym. The Spa offers a full range of treatments and it's a 'must visit'. It also features a hair salon and beauty parlour.

The right hotel will significantly enhance your holiday experience. So if you're looking for a hotel that is as much a feature of your holiday as the sea, the sun and the Maltese island lifestyle; a hotel that will keep you in wonderful luxury, you've found it.

Another wonderful stay

We have stayed at the Radisson Blu Resort, Malta St. Julian's many times and had a wonderful experience, this time was no exception.

Beautiful location with attentive and pleasant service throughout, allowing for us to have a thoroughly relaxed and enjoyable holiday.

Special thanks to Marisa and Yashoda, who greeted us daily with their warm and welcoming smiles. Yashoda went above and beyond to make my wife's birthday extra special at breakfast!! Thank you Yashoda! Also, a big thank you to Marvie and Suraj who looked after us all poolside...fab cocktails chaps! No hesitation in recommending.

Just about ok hotel for the price, better hotel in the centre for similiar price.. Good if you want to stay a bit away from the St julian centre( to avoide noise, crowds) but great sea views from the balcony( if you hafe the right room). 10 min walk down to the centre with beach and resturants . Clean rooms, friendly staff, good service in general. Good breakfast( did not eat at other restaurants at the hotel) . Airconditioning didnt work at night 2 out of 3 nights( was working during the day). Not much help when informed the reception . Our friends had to change the hotel as their air condition didnt work at all for first night.

Honest family review

We stayed at the Radisson Blu St Julian’s and overall had a lovely holiday. The hotel itself is beautiful, spotlessly clean and well maintained. While some areas are a little dated, we actually felt it suited the culture and character of Malta rather than taking away from the experience. The staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough for you throughout our stay.

The only real downside for us was the half-board dining, which wasn’t made clear before we arrived. The hotel doesn’t have an evening buffet. Instead, you’re given vouchers to use at a selection of restaurants, all of which need to be booked. If, like us, you prefer to play things by ear, you’ll struggle to get into some restaurants during peak season unless you’ve booked in advance. There is a great choice though, from family-friendly restaurants to fine dining. Our favourites were Henry J. Bean’s (American) and Don Royale (Italian). One tip: when you arrive, let the staff know you’re using half-board vouchers, as some restaurants have a restricted menu for voucher guests.

The hotel seemed to attract a younger crowd, especially from Thursday to Sunday, with lots of 18–25-year-olds around the pool. Unfortunately, some were smoking poolside and flicking ash onto the surrounding areas, which wasn’t ideal. We also noticed quite a few guests who clearly weren’t fans of children enjoying the pool! If a beach ball landed anywhere near them, it was likely to be launched as far away as possible, and we definitely got a few disapproving looks whenever the kids were having fun! 😂

The location is great if you enjoy being close to the action. It’s only around a five-minute walk from the bars and clubs. You can hear the nightlife while sitting on the balcony in the evening, but once the patio doors are closed, it’s surprisingly quiet and we had no trouble sleeping.

We weren’t particularly impressed with the local beach, St George’s Bay. It felt more suited to the younger party crowd and, unfortunately, there was quite a bit of litter including wine bottles, cigarette butts and even condom wrappers. We noticed similar rubbish on the rocky coastline near the hotel too, which was disappointing.

The absolute highlight of our holiday was our trip to Gozo. We hired a private boat with a skipper for €400, and it was worth every cent. Our skipper, Mark, was brilliant. He shared the history of the islands, took us to explore the caves, and stopped at the Blue Lagoon where we spent time snorkelling in the crystal-clear water. It was an unforgettable day and the highlight of our holiday.

Overall, we’d definitely recommend the Radisson Blu if you’re looking for a clean hotel with excellent staff in a lively location. Just be aware of how the half-board dining works and what the surrounding area is like, especially if you’re travelling with young children or are looking for a quieter beach holiday.

We would do it again!

Booked a day at DeeSpas Wellness centre at Radisson Blu in St Julians. We were treated to a good face massage then spent time in a quiet and cosy relaxation room with complimentary Prosecco and chocolate truffle. We made extensive use of the indoor pool before going up to The Bridge for lunch. We ordered a chicken thigh burger which was delicious and sumptuous. The waitress, a woman named Tania, although very busy made us feel at home especially since we had to wait for the food longer thsn usual. Overall a positive experience. My only negative comment is about the uncontrolled shouting and jumping in the indoor pool by kids.

Lovely hotel to spend time in

I spent 7 days at Radisson Blu, St Julian's and highly recommend it. Check in was swift and on entry to my room I found a lovely card and a bottle of red wine from Marika. I had contacted her earlier to ask about restaurants nearby as I was celebrating my retirement and birthday and she had sent a card and the bottle of wine- thanks! Marika gave me some good tips on where to eat and they were close to the hotel. The room itself was big with a sea view and a balcony. The cleaning was to a high standard and water was replenished daily. The room we were in had bathrobes and toiletries and the bed was comfy. The pool area right next to the hotel was great and had lots of sunbeds when we stayed- towels were also available. There is also another three pools of varying sizes along the path from the hotel- this pool area was called The Edge. It also contained access to the 'private beach' but it was very rocky. Both pool areas had food and drink facilities. The local area was very vibrant and was more for the young clientele but there was lots of places to eat and there was also a big shopping mall. When we visited Malta there was building work going on for a new Hard Rock Cafe but hopefully it will be finished soon. Saying that, when we were by the pool, we did not hear any noise- it was only on leaving the hotel that it became more apparent. We did not have daily breakfasts but did opt to do a pay as you go style. The breakfast was 18 euros but there was so much choice and it was of good quality. Between 5- 7pm there was a happy hour and drinks were half price in the bar called The Bridge. I will be returning to Radisson Blu, St Julian's in the near future and would recommend it.
