Hyatt Regency Malta is located in the heart of St Julian's, Malta's premier resort. It is an ideal pied-à-terre from which to explore the island's eight thousand years of history. Set within walking distance from some of the finest lifestyle alternatives in the city and a mere stone's throw away from the pristine beach on St George's bay, you are never far away from the next memorable experience.
Modern spacious hotel. A two-level rooftop pool area with food and drink service, to say nothing of fantastic 360-degree views. Full spa with a 24-hour indoor pool. Large, well-appointed, well-designed rooms; excellent bathrooms and showers. Sea-view balcony rooms on the upper floors have 180-degree views of the coast. With Club access, you can partake in an aperitivo on the exterior plaza between 5-7 pm. Water refill stations on every floor. Super-friendly staff. Grandiose breakfast selection for all tastes and needs, simply superb. Every night there is themed entertainment by the pool area or on the plaza - a movie night, a live music show, etc. Location in the heart of St Julian brings a lot of outside entertainment close by.
Devendra is very good in service always smilling and asking in breqkfast what we need. He make very good coffee. Thanks once again.
We stayed here for 4 nights from the minute we got to the door, the staff were polite friendly, the rooms are very spacious and very comfortable, the location is perfect everything is on the door step would definitely stay here again
Really do not want to tell anyone about this hotel and keep it for myself. It is amazing and the staff are excellent. Cannot praise them enough. This was my second stay and it was even better than my first. They really do above and beyond for the guests. Well done to everyone there.
We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Malta in St Julians Bay, Malta for 10 days in July 2026. We were a family of 5, 4 adults and 1 child. I would not class this hotel as safe or clean for families with allergies/young children.
The issues we had that led to a 3/5 star review were:
Unsafe allergy practices - on 3 occasions through our stay the food we ordered was swapped out without telling us. It is only through my careful looking and questions to staff that I realised this on each occasion and staff were very unbothered and clearly couldn’t see the danger and issue with this. I have a child with allergies who will suffer anaphylaxis and carries an epi pen. Swapping food out is NOT safe or acceptable without asking or notifying. Not once did a manager approach us to discuss or reassure, no effort at all. Even after I complained at the front desk and asked to speak to a manager there were none available.
Green Algae in the rooftop swimming pool - (pool not being maintained properly!) this was an issue throughout the stay. We notified 3 staff members and even brought a cup of water to show. The algae bits were stuck to us and the towels after each pool session. Only 1 staff member was bothered to actually look properly, a female staff member at the bar. Not once did a manager approach us to discuss/apologise.
Room extension - we asked early on to extend our room, happy to pay for this of course. Told several times to come back a different day. Ended up asking again on the final day and were told no, and that there were absolutely no rooms spare. Ended up asking to speak to a manager, again, no manager was available. However a room miraculously became free after I asked to speak to a manager.
Planning - we were put on two separate floors despite booking rooms at the same time. Not ideal for a family with a child. Also not ideal putting a family with a child on a higher floor.
Things that were good:
Sadly I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. We have family in Malta and visit fairly frequently over the years, but would not come back here again.
