Puran the best Staff member
Puran is an excellent asset to the business. His cleaning skills are impeccable and willing to above and beyond. Cleaned our room perfectly and also left us the cutest towel dog.
Hostile reception staff, noisy, facilities poorly maintained.
There is a real problem at the Hugo with hostile and aggressive male staff on the front desk. Several female members in our party were very upset following interactions with Hakim and others. This really spoils the whole atmosphere, in what is already a problematic stay, many facilities out of order, including steam room, television and coffee machine. Loud music from the bars outside is day and night. Nice views from rooftop pool and decent breakfast, but no fresh fruit juices. Would not want to stay there again and would not recommend. Rooms were clean and the housekeeping staff were helpful and friendly.

Amazing stay
I had an absolute splendid stay over this weekend. Can’t complain about anything. Lovely rooms, amazing staff and I special shoutout to Maw the lady at the reception she was great along with all the other staff members.
Stylish room and great staff, but be mindful of the lively location
The hotel room itself was spacious, stylish, and very comfortable. We also found the staff to be extremely friendly and attentive throughout our stay.
However, our overall rating is mostly impacted by the location. To be fair, part of this was on us for not researching the exact area properly beforehand. The hotel is located right in the heart of a very busy and loud nightlife/party district. Because of the constant noise and the rowdy, unkept surrounding area, we found ourselves spending as little time at the hotel as possible, so I cannot comment much on the breakfast or other hotel amenities.
While the noise and cleanliness of the surrounding streets are obviously not the hotel's fault, I feel it is important to mention for future guests who might be looking for a quieter getaway. If you are visiting Malta for the nightlife, this place is ideal—otherwise, just be aware of what the immediate area is like.

Great dining experience and a service-minded chef.
After a 10-day stay at Hugo's Hotel in Malta, I am very pleased with the experience. The food has been incredibly good. I require a gluten-free diet, and there was a great selection of gluten-free options for both meals and desserts. The chef named Aravinthan is very enthusiastic and friendly—waving and smiling as soon as you arrive for breakfast—making the experience a 10/10. Thank you:)
