Thinking of holidaying in St Julian's, Malta? You're in for a treat. One of the island's newest resorts, it's already one of the most popular. And partly that's because of some of the fabulous hotels here – in fact there are more luxury hotels in St Julian's than there are anywhere else on the island. And the Cavalieri Hotel is an easy recommendation.
The Cavalieri Hotel is the ideal choice for so many reasons: its facilities are top notch, and its location is perfect – quietly tucked away, but only a few hundred yards from the heart of St Julian's Spinola Bay.
St Julian's promises the quintessential sunshine holiday. Long, hot days at the water's edge or, if you're staying at the Cavalieri Hotel, you can enjoy the hotel lido too. At night, you can explore along the harbour-front discovering tucked away restaurants and cafes, or just taking in the heady evening air. The bright lights of adjacent Paceville draws younger travellers to the entertainment centres' many clubs.
With the Cavalieri Hotel as your base, you've got the best of both worlds; all that St Julian's and the Cavalieri have to offer. Comfort is definitely on the menu; the wonderfully cool, air conditioned rooms boast twin beds and en suite bathrooms (with shower and bath, all deluxe rooms include a walk-in shower). Each has satellite TV, radio, direct dial phone, safe, (unstocked) mini bar and tea/coffee too. Hairdryers are available upon request at no extra charge.
The hotel also boasts two bars and a TV room. And with live entertainment on offer most nights, you'll soon be busy having the time of your life.
As you'd expect with a hotel of this quality, there are so many extra amenities, including a GP on call, an on-site laundrette and dry cleaning service; even a souvenir shop. And, with its solarium and second pool (which is heated through the colder months), the Cavalieri Hotel is just as popular in the winter too.
St Julians is one of Malta's most vibrant and popular resorts, and the Cavalieri Hotel is one of its most popular places to stay. So if you are really thinking about a holiday in St Julian's, why not come and see the best that this island has to offer?

This hotel is located just over 200 yards from Spinola Bay, in the heart of St Julian's, and no less than 400 yards from Paceville. The hotel is right on the water's edge and has its own private lido with a large outdoor swimming pool, a children's pool and a sundeck with solarium containing a second pool, enclosed and heated in the winter and open during the summer.
A great 3-night stay. Good location. Staff helpful and friendly. Room spacious. Lovely views. Good food. Surprised my daughter with a card and a cake for her 18th! Would highly recommend!
We had a week here from the end of August 2026 to the start of September. The hotel is lovely and clean. The pool is nice and you can walk down a ladder straight into the sea. Ideal for snorkelling and I would recommend buying a mask and snorkel as it’s actually pretty good. I snorkelled every day and saw a vast variety of fish, an eel, sea urchins, and shoals of small fish near the rocks just around the corner of the hotel. The hotel food was of a good standard. We had a beef cheek and mushroom pasta for lunch which was so delicious and rich. Breakfast has a large selection, the omelette station was a particular favourite. The hotel would benefit from a free water refill station. You are able to book trips from the hotel lobby and there is a small shop inside the hotel. The spa was nice, we visited for a massage which was very reasonably priced. The hotel would also benefit from some evening entertainment as there wasn’t anything going on, although there are many bars near by. Overall I would stay again mainly for easy access to the sea and the close proximity to the casinos and bars and restaurants.
Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing and certainly not what we expected after paying for a Superior Room. To begin with, we actually found 3 cockroaches in the room, which is completely unacceptable in any hotel. There were also several other issues that made our stay very uncomfortable: One of the lampshades was missing, making the room look incomplete and poorly maintained. Several electricity sockets were not working properly. The air conditioning did not cool the room sufficiently. We set it to the lowest temperature possible, but it still didn't cool the room properly. There was no ashtray in the balcony. The bathroom was particularly disappointing. For a room advertised and paid for as a Superior Room, you would expect at least a small cabinet or storage area where guests can put their toiletries and personal belongings. Unfortunately, there was nothing. Despite paying for a Superior Room, we found two single mattresses pushed together instead of one proper double mattress. The ladies' restroom near the outdoor pool area was absolutely disgusting, with dirt and grime, a very unpleasant bad smell, and clearly inadequate cleaning. The service at dinner was also disappointing. We went to get dessert and, while we were away from the table for a short time, the waiter cleared our table even though we had left some of our personal belongings there. We found this very inappropriate and careless. A table should not be cleared when guests' belongings are still on it without first checking with them. I have stayed in many 4-star hotels, but honestly, this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. The problems were not limited to one isolated incident — there were multiple issues with cleanliness, maintenance, basic facilities and service. For the price we paid and considering this was supposed to be a Superior Room, we expected a much higher standard. Unfortunately, the room and the hotel's facilities did not come close to what we expected from a 4-star hotel. Finding a cockroach in the room, inadequate air conditioning, faulty sockets, missing basic amenities, poor bathroom facilities, two single mattresses instead of a proper double bed, an unacceptable public restroom and careless service at dinner made our stay extremely unpleasant. Very disappointing and definitely not the standard we expected from a 4-star hotel. We would not recommend this hotel and certainly would not consider staying here again.
We stayed in August for a few nights for our Honeymoon and it was ok. The hotel is in a great location, however our room was very basic, and our bathroom was tiny and there was a stale smell in the room and corridor due to the heat. I did request beforehand that we get a room with good air conditioning and that is what we got and were thankful for as it was very much needed. Reception staff were fine, could be a bit more welcoming, not much interaction. Upon check in, the hotel congratulated us with a small cake which was a nice gesture. The rooms were cleaned well and daily. The breakfast was a lovely buffet full of variety, omlettes were especially tasty. Happy with pool area, comfortable and plenty of seats and nice atmosphere. The lifts were frustrating to say the least. One was out of service so there as only two on the go which took ages, especially at busy times. We found where the stairs were and used those ok instead, much quicker. Our stay was fine as we didn't use our room much but it wasn't anything special.
Great location. Clean. Good service from all the staff. Comfortable rooms with cleaning and fresh towels everyday. Free pool towels and plenty of sunbeds. Nice variety of food at breakfast and of a high standard. Wifi was quick good when it worked. The AC in the rooms was basically a fan so it was very warm.
