This hotel is located just over 200 yards from Spinola Bay, in the heart of St Julian's, and no less than 400 yards from Paceville. The hotel is right on the water's edge and has its own private lido with a large outdoor swimming pool, a children's pool and a sundeck with solarium containing a second pool, enclosed and heated in the winter and open during the summer.

3 night stay at the cavileri art hotel
Lovely clean hotel. Good breakfast, Staff very helpful, lovely pool and easy access to the sea for a dip. Room was pretty basic but nice with a great view from the balcony. Massive let down was the poor AC in the room. Made sleeping almost impossible. Other than that I’d highly recommend.
Amazing Location & Seaviews, But the Poor Air Conditioning Let Cavalieri Down
We stayed at the Cavalieri Art Hotel for a week in July during the 42°C heatwave 2026, and our experience was very mixed.
The hotel’s biggest strengths are definitely its location, views and the sea. The views over Spinola Bay are stunning, and the sea was one of the highlights of our holiday. The water is crystal clear, beautifully warm, and so salty that floating is effortless. You can even wear goggles and see fish swimming beneath you. It gets deep immediately in front of the hotel, but there’s also a shallower swimming area just a minute away.
The staff were excellent throughout our stay. Everyone was friendly and helpful, especially when we reported the air conditioning. Maintenance came to our room immediately, cleaned the unit and tried to improve it. Unfortunately, we were told the hotel uses centrally controlled air conditioning, so there wasn’t much they could do.
Sadly, the air conditioning completely ruined our stay. Our room stayed around 28–30°C with very high humidity, making it almost impossible to relax during the day, and sleep comfortably at night - we woke up countless times because of the heat and sweating. It was frustrating because the lobby and restaurant were lovely and cool, yet the bedrooms felt like saunas. After spending all day in the Maltese heat, you expect your room to be somewhere you can cool down and recover.
Breakfast was excellent with a huge variety every morning. Dinner was tasty too, but compared with breakfast, the choice was limited.
Furthermore, the shower pressure was very weak on the top floors making showering a much longer process than normal, especially hair washing. Also the single bed in our room was extremely uncomfortable, with a soft unsupportive mattress and unstable frame swaying with every movement. Double bed was good.
The outdoor pool was also disappointing. It often looked dirty, cloudy and uninviting, so after trying it once we chose to swim in the sea for the rest of the holiday. The indoor pool was clean but quite small and shallow - more for kids. In addition, there was no daytime pool activities or evening entertainment during our stay, which we were aware of before booking, but it would have significantly enhanced our experience.
Overall, this hotel had so much potential. The location, sea, breakfast and staff were all fantastic, but the ineffective air conditioning and poor water pressure on the higher floors, during a Maltese summer, overshadowed the entire stay.

Great hotel if it weren’t for the aircon.
Great location, this hotel would be great if it weren’t for a few problems.
Very old aircon, we set it at 16° but felt more like 30°. Absolutely no cold air coming out during 27° nights. Unbearable. When we asked staff they were quite dismissive saying ‘it’s what we should expect for a hot country’.
The elevators were very slow, but not a major issue as the stairs were ok.
No cold water from the taps, having to wash faces/brush teeth with scorching hot water in an already sweltering room. The shower would constantly flood.
I think for the value it was alright, if it weren’t for the air con I would’ve been very pleased. The free breakfast in the morning was great. Rooms kept regularly clean.

The hotel is in a good location .. good breakfast however shower dosnt work properly .. air conditioning does not work .. Multiple Hair found on mattress protector.. water flood in shower … floors are vynl not even tiles . Dirty bedding with stains ..
