The Waterfront is one of Malta's most popular 4-star hotels. Occupying a prime location on Sliema's seafront promenade it has excellent guest facilities and spectacular views across the harbour to Valletta. The local ferry connects over to Valletta regularly and is just a few minutes walk from the hotel. Close at hand are the shops and restaurants of Sliema and the lively centres of entertainment in Paceville (a short bus ride away).

The Waterfront Hotel in Sliema sits right along the sea promenade, making it an ideal base for exploring Malta with friends. Our room had a balcony with views of the marina, Manoel Island, and the gorgeous skyline of Valletta across the water. It is a short, scenic walk to the Sliema Ferries (super convenient for hopping over to Valletta), local restaurants, bars, and shopping centers like The Plaza and Tigné Point.
Rooms & Comfort
Our group found the rooms to be spacious, modern, and clean. Each room came well-equipped with comfortable beds, air conditioning, a fridge, safe, free WiFi, and a private balcony. Housekeeping kept everything spotless throughout our trip.
Food & Drink
Breakfast: Served as a generous daily buffet in the Regatta Restaurant with plenty of hot and cold options to fuel us up before a day of sightseeing. Drinks & Dining: We enjoyed casual evening drinks and snacks at the Lobby Bar, and the rooftop Cielo Lounge offered a great atmosphere with nice views.
Amenities & Service
The staff across the board—from reception to the bar and housekeeping—were genuinely welcoming, polite, and helpful. For downtime, the hotel features an indoor pool, a gym, and access to the nearby AquaLuna outdoor pool area, which was a big plus for relaxing.

Waterfront stay
Currently staying at the waterfront hotel in Silema. The hotel is in a wonderful location and easy to get transport across the island as well as close to boat trips (A stones throw away). The highlight of the hotel is not the location it’s the people, despite my girlfriend knocking over her welcome Prosecco all over the front desk, we were still treated exceptionally well. A big shout out to Puja, Mashud and Vikas for being so attentive at breakfast. The breakfast is 10/10! The only thing I would change about my stay is having the option to chose a sea view room when booking. The rooms are lovely but it would be magical with a sea view and we didn’t see an option to book this. A shame to not have one! I highly recommend nonetheless!

A very good hotel with great staff
We have just returned from a week's stay at the Waterfront Hotel.
The hotel is ideally located on the harbour front in Sliema. There are bus stops close by to travel to different places on the island, and the ferry terminal for ferries to Valletta and boat trips is a few minutes walk away.
We had a side sea view room and it looked over the harbour to Valletta. The room was a good size, the bed very comfortable, as were the pillows. It was cleaned to a good standard. We were provided with one bottle of water on arrival, and a glass bottle to refill at the water station in the corridor - this is a great idea.
We were on half board, and dinner each night is at a different restaurant, so we experienced all 3 of the restaurants. Breakfast in the Regatta restaurant was very good, with barista made coffee and a good choice of food. We had the evening buffet in that restaurant one night - plenty of choice but unfortunately there were only a few dishes to our taste. The Maurice restaurant is good with a varied menu and again plenty of choice. Service was very attentive and well timed. The food is very good, however portions are very generous so we couldn't manage all the courses. Our favourite however, was the 1Olive restaurant on the 10th floor - served starter and dessert and buffet main course. We went to the Maltese night and the barbecue nights - fabulous. For those on half board they offer a drinks package on these nights which is very good value. Two highlights - firstly the excellent service from Rikta, Siddik and Amrit - they really looked after us. Secondly the wonderful musicians who entertained us. As part of this they go to each table and ask what song you would like - they have an extensive repertoire! They weren't sure of the song we asked for and even went away and learned it for the next time we were there.
We didn't go to the Aqualuna lido which hotel guests can access for free, but we heard other say it was very good. We used the indoor pool every day - towels are provided.
We found all the staff to be helpful and welcoming.
Overall it was a brilliant holiday - thank you Waterfront Hotel.

The Waterfront hotel was a lovely hotel Our room was brilliant overlooked the amazing harbour our cleaner Mamata keeped our room very clean she was very friendly Great choice for breakfast everything you would want ..Olena Pujoi (as all the staff) was very helpful and friendly If we were to come back to Malta we would definitely return here

I lost my ID card at the airport and, as I do not speak English, I was in a very stressful and difficult situation. Tanku went above and beyond to help me. He personally called the airport to investigate, and he even accompanied me to the police station to ensure everything was handled correctly. He did all of this with incredible kindness, patience, and professionalism. Such outstanding dedication to guest welfare deserves to be recognized.
