With a fabulous location a few meters away from the Sliema promenade, the ST Blubay Apartments offer a great location for your holiday. Sliema's popular shopping centre with its cafes and restaurants is close at hand, offering a wide variety of entertainment and relaxation. Being part of the ST Bayview Hotel, guests are able to share the facilities and in fact, meals are served in the Bayview Hotel’s restaurant which is located approximately 350 meters away. Additionally, the Tria Restaurant offers a tasty set menu or buffet daily (based on hotel occupancy). Conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from the property.
Air-conditioned studio apartments are spacious and comfortable. All apartments are en suite complete with a walk in shower, and some have a french balcony with an inland view. They also feature TV, living area and self-catering amenities and free Wi-Fi (within the apartments). One bedroom apartments which have a balcony and 2 bedroom apartments are available at a supplement.

Most of the staff were kind and helpful, and the cleaning staff came every day and provided clean towels. However, the overall experience was still very disappointing.
The terrace door in our first given room could not be closed, which meant the room was basically open the entire time. We reported it, but maintenance never came.
We were also asked to pay a €100 deposit even though we had already paid for the whole week in advance. The money was only returned after I emailed them more than a week after we had already arrived back home.
The toaster in the room didn’t work. We received a replacement, but that one didn’t work either.
The “terrace” was about 0.5 m² and contained all the outdoor air-conditioning units from several other rooms. Whenever other guests used their AC, the noise in our room became extremely loud and almost unbearable.
At one point I was literally crying from exhaustion because I couldn’t sleep due to the noise. When we asked to change rooms, we were told the only available option was in another building. When we finally agreed to move, we were suddenly told we might be charged extra for the change. Interestingly, shortly afterwards we were given another room in the same building (next to the elevator), and the next guests who arrived were given our original room. I appreciate thenhelp of that nightmanager btw I could see henfelt shame and wanted ti help us.
Another unpleasant surprise was that we found dead cockroaches in the room, despite the fact that the cleaning staff came every day.
The shower cabin could not be properly closed, so the entire bathroom floor was flooded with water after every shower. There were also several places where mold had been poorly covered or painted over.
Overall, this experience was very disappointing and poorly handled.
Ah. The pool in the adverisement is not the hotel's pool , it is in another building, for 30 Eur. However, they have an unheated mini pool on the roof.
We had a lovely week here. Had an apartment: huge airy living-room/kitchen with a balcony; comfortable bedrooms (one ensuite with balcony), comfortable family bathroom too. Kitchen is basic but perfectly functional (microwave, toaster, kettle, etc.), uses UK plugs, yahoo! There's lots of different buildings in this complex; we found ours to be very quiet, comfy and kept immaculately clean (the cleaners were lovely and SO hard-working). Reception were helpful and friendly. Area is really well-served both for places to eat and for groceries and produce shops, so eating out or in are equally easy. It's close to the water-front, so accessible for ferries to other bits of the islands, boat-trips, also buses, taxis - it's a good location to explore Malta. This place is not luxurious, but sound and serviceable, particularly for the prices: for Malta it's very good value for money. We had a very good stay and can recommend it.
Just don’t go there!!
Noisy, dirty and outdated. Full of noisy student 24/7.
Before travelling, I contacted the property directly to confirm specific requirements due to mobility issues within our group. I was clearly assured we would have a sea view apartment with a balcony and pool access. Had I been told otherwise, I would have booked alternative accommodation.
After landing in Malta, we were informed that we had been moved to completely different apartments away from the main hotel area. The accommodation provided was nothing like what had been promised or advertised. The “balcony” was essentially an enclosed window space, there was no sea view, no pool onsite, and it involved approximately a 400-metre uphill walk to access the main hotel facilities.
The apartment overlooked a street with continuous building work. My bedroom had a door opening onto a service shaft area with pipes, air conditioning units and constant running water noises day and night from surrounding units.
There were constant sewage smells coming from the drains, ongoing construction noise, and the overall condition of the accommodation was extremely disappointing. We also found the location very unsuitable for the two people in our group with mobility difficulties, which added unnecessary stress and upset to what was meant to be a relaxing holiday.
The most frustrating part was the lack of communication and follow-up from management after we raised concerns. We saved hard for this trip and genuinely feel misled by the listing and the promises made before arrival.
I stayed at Blubay Apartments in Malta as part of a group booking with friends and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish.
Just before arrival, our apartment was changed despite specifically booking an apartment with a sea view and pool access and a balcony. We received none of theses. The apartment itself looked at least 5–10 years older than the photos shown on Booking.com and was very worn throughout.
There were several safety and maintenance issues. The electrical sockets made buzzing noises whenever chargers were plugged in. The kettle and toaster both had two-pin plugs even though the apartment used three-pin sockets. The kettle malfunctioned and caused my friend to get burned because it failed to switch off properly. The toaster blew up after a single use and tripped the electricity for the entire apartment.
There was also a door in the apartment that did not lock and led to an area filled with air conditioning units constantly leaking water, which felt unsafe and unpleasant. Instead of the balcony we had requested, we were given a small enclosed area with three office chairs.
The bathroom situation was unacceptable. Every shower caused strong sewage smells from the drains, and the shower leaked water all over the floor. As someone who uses a crutch, this created a genuine safety hazard.
We asked to change rooms, but the alternative shown to us was also in poor condition and smelled strongly of sewage and damp mop water. After further complaints, a handyman was sent, but very little was actually resolved.
As compensation we requested a pool day at Aqualuna, but we had to repeatedly chase staff about it and it was only finally provided on our last day, leaving us just a couple of hours to use it before leaving Malta.
Overall, this was a very stressful and disappointing stay and did not match the standard advertised online.
