A very comfortable hotel in a good location near to the promenade and local shops and ferry terminal. My wife and I stayed for 4 nights on a b&b bases. The room was small but had a very comfortable bed with a very good sized shower. Breakfast was very pleasant with a good selection of food, juices and hot drinks. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool was a welcome way to cool off after a day's sightseeing. Overall, it was a very pleasant, relaxed 4 day break.
Much preferred staying in this beautiful boutique hotel, away from the noise, but just a short 5 minute walk away from the beach. Diego was incredibly helpful arranging for car transfers to our various adventures! There is a beautiful courtyard where you can eat your breakfast and go for a swim. The perfect mix of historic with Air Conditioning in the rooms! Would love to stay here again :)
The location of this hotel is not suitable for in our view over 50s or anyone who is not extremely fit , the walk down the hills to the main front takes around 20minutes and if you are planning to walk uphill it’s very very steep and if you were to visit in the summer months totally exhausting . Up around this hotel there are no amenities in the vicinity so would be isolated at the hotel, we had to get taxis back up from the front every time we ventured out at around €9 a time.there is a pleasant atmosphere around the hotel, the rooms are pleasant, value for money is fair, cleanliness is ok, unfortunately for us the noise levels were shocking with building work going on at 2 locations close to the hotel with banging and drilling starting at 6.30 am . The staff were very friendly and helpful. the amenities at the hotel were poor with the pool area only having 7 sun loungers to accommodate the whole hotel , it is a very small pool due to the type of building, there is some tables and chairs in the adjoining courtyard , due to extreme heat it was necessary for us to attend the nearby Lido at a cost to us of €30 per person per day for our 3 days stay cost us €180 plus taxis that we hadn’t factored for, the food was of a decent quality.
The hotel was lovely but they gave us the worst room I have ever stayed in (101). The entrance is a lounge with settee, next to that is the bathroom and toilet with glass wall and door, it was partly frosted but there was just no dignity for having a shower and more importantly sitting to use the loo. The bedroom was on the first floor via a really narrow spiral staircase, so narrow we couldn’t get the cases up and had to leave them in the lounge area and live out of them for 3 days. Coming down the staircase in the middle of the night was not pleasant and potentially dangerous. My wife has a sight issue and found it so difficult she actually had to come down them backwards. The AC pointed into a vast open space so we couldn’t feel the coolness when in bed and thus struggled to sleep at night due to the heat. Such a shame the room was so badly designed, it let down what is actually a nice hotel.
A beautiful authentic hotel, very clean and great facilities. All staff are very attentive, nothing is too much trouble and a special thank you to the brother and sister bar staff who stayed after their shift ended to serve us drinks. The pool area is well maintained/served. For anyone wondering about the pool size, it's ideal for cooling off after a day of sight seeing. Guests were not selfish re sunbeds. There's only 8 but plenty of chairs/tables to leave your things whilst in the pool. We didn't find it an issue. The hotel provides pool towels as a courtesy, freshly laundered. Hotel room was lovely and equipped with tea/coffee facilities and mini bar. All very reasonably priced. Poolside food was lovely and good value. Bullata Bay is an easier walk back up to the hotel then Sliema waterfront in the heat. Would highly recommend this fabulous hotel.
