There are many ways to relax or stay active at the hotel, including a gym, a spa, a sauna and a steam bath. Guests can also make use of the wellness area where aromatherap. In the evenings, guests can unwind with a refreshment drink at the bar, or kick back and listen to the live music.
Should you wish to soak up the sun, an outdoor infinity pool is just 200 yards away from the hotel which also features a poolside bar, sun terrace and sun loungers/parasols (subject to availability). Dine at the hotel's restaurant which offer delicious European cuisine as well as a lounge bar should you wish to enjoy a glass of Champagne in the evening.

A great stay
What makes this hotel is the attentiveness of its staff - so kind and friendly and on top of things (for example one day we put our room on DND and in the evening housekeeping called to see if we needed anything. A lovely touch) it was a great experience. The beach club is also a great bonus and a truly beautiful place.
We booked a junior suite and whilst this was a lovely room with a huge bed a suite it was not - there was little space for our bags and wash bags (in the bathroom) and nowhere to sit once we had two suitcases in the room. The view from the balcony was beautiful but I think to claim this a suite (of any type) is a bit of a stretch.
The check-in process could be made much quicker to avoid a longer wait upon arrival and the soundproofing (especially on 11th floor) could be improved.
Overall a great stay that we enjoyed and thank you to all for being so kind.

We have just returned from the 1926 , our third visit. It is a lovely hotel, but found the noise outside the hotel hard going. Lots of sleepless nights. The staff at this hotel are some of life’s loveliest people Sohel and the lovely colleague he works with at Breakfast and the evening restaurant are a absolute credit to the 1926, I can only apologise can’t remember her name. The guy behind the bar also makes a great cocktail. The food in the restaurant is just superb. We ate there quite a few nights. Our room was kept spotlessly clean. Thank you 1926 it has been a great break. Time to catch up on some sleep 🤷♀️
A great base for visiting Malta, if you are happy to accept a hotel which promises much and delivers about 75%
Let's start with the best bits:
- The staff are amazing. So welcoming and attentive. You worry a little that some of them are putting in very long shifts.
- The food. Talking here about the restaurant in the evening. Did not try the Michelin-starred Le GC. No need. On conversion from breakfast room to restaurant, the food in Margaux was exceptional.
- The gym. Off-site, but only across the road. Limited equipment but also little-used, a great way to start the day.
- The beach bar.
The less good bits:
- Upgraded in advance to a deluxe room. Either the standard rooms are very, very standard or this was not a deluxe room. Small. No wardrobe, nowhere to sit other than on the bed. Cramped bathroom. Oh, and nearly decapitated by some strange wooden wall fitting which decided to fall on me.
- Breakfast. It’s a buffet, so you get what you expect. It is more the attention to service. Forever running out of plates, cups (which are miniscule) and food/drink.
- The lifts. There are only two, the third reserved for staff servicing rooms. Except the staff also monopolise the other lifts. So expect to hang around on the higher floors for a good while.
- The offers. Tried twice to book the exclusive use of the spa after 9pm. Successful first time, only to be telephoned when out and told they were closing it for maintenance. Gave up trying second time.
All-in-all, a great base for visiting Malta, if you are happy to accept a hotel which promises much and delivers about 75%.

Lovely stay in a nice hotel
Lovely hotel , really friendly staff, clean , and a very good breakfast. When we raised a concern it was dealt with professionally and to our satisfaction. Lovely Gym . The Dinner in Margeaux restaurant to a very high standard, and happy hoor cocktails were delicious
