Right at the heart of Qawra, right at the heart of the action, the Santana hotel has to be one of Malta's most desirable spots. With its light sea blue livery, the hotel signposts its location – just a minute from the seafront itself.
The Qawra seafront is a favourite spot for holidaymakers, with its many shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. Beyond the promenade is another of its main attractions, the rocky beach, a haven for swimmers and sun bathers – and a great place to explore. Qawra is also home to some of Malta's most prized cultural sites too – no visit is complete without a trip to the historical towers and the church of St Francis of Assisi.
Even with such a perfect location, the Santana Hotel is more than just a base for exploring and enjoying Malta. It is, after all, a four star hotel with four star facilities to match.
There's a Wellness club offering over 80 health & beauty therapy treatments (at a fee ) and adding to the spa feel is a sauna and the opportunity for a massage (at a fee), plus a superb wellness centre with over plenty of treatments available.
After all of that, you can pick and choose one of the bars or restaurant's to while away a few pleasant hours in the evening.
Guests of the Santana Hotel often like to round things off by staying to enjoy the hotel's own schedule of entertainment – it does make for a very sociable end to the day.
Finally to bed. All rooms feature an en suite bathroom, most have a bath/shower and some just have showers. Rooms also feature tip top amenities like satalite TV (with pay TV), radio and hairdryer. Another bonus – keeping the temperature just right is a cinch with the centrally controlled air conditioning. Rooms were fully renovated in 2019 including the bathrooms which all rooms except Studio's feature a walk-in shower. Please note. All rooms free Wi-Fi and free use of safe. Most rooms feature a balcony – so you can look out at the twinkling lights of Qawra. Please note 'Economy Rooms' do not feature a balcony but only a window.
The Santana Hotel is as much a reason to choose Qawra for your Maltese holiday destination as the towers of the Knights of St John, or the beaches or the accessibility to other locations. Choosing the right hotel really is that important.

Just a minute from the picturesque seafront at Qawra, the Santana is at the heart of one of Malta's prime tourist areas with excellent shops and entertainment. Guest facilities include an indoor freshwater pool with jacuzzi, a sauna and massage (at a fee) and fitness room. Meals are served in the main dining room.
Really great service from Binod, he went the extra mile to provide us with a masala dosa one evening. Keep up the great work. 😀
I found the service provided by everyone, from the reception team to the restaurant staff, to be exceptional. They were always polite, attentive, and quick to assist whenever needed.
I would especially like to thank Binod from the restaurant. He made us feel genuinely welcome, relaxed, and well looked after throughout our stay. His friendliness and dedication to meeting all our needs made our experience even more enjoyable.
Lastly the environment, food and room was as expected for price paid.
The hotel looks good on arrival and the reception area looks really good as its going through renovations. We stayed in a Comfort room on the 4th floor. As you leave the reception it starts to come clear that the works have not been completed to the extent advertised. You start to walk along the 4th floor and if your not careful you will trip over the floor tiles that are not stuck down properly, there are cables hanging from the ceiling and door frames missing on a couple of areas. We were told before that the spa and pool was not finished but not that the Massage parlour was also closed. In the room it looked nice, it was cleaned every day and the shower was lovely. The only fault with the rooms is that the Air Con goes off at 0800hrs and comes back on at 1400hrs which when it was as hot as it was when we were there makes the room unbearable if you just want to relaxed. We was not told before we arrived that this was the case if we were we would have properly changed hotels. The pool area was stunning with 3 pools and every time we went up there which was every day we almost had the pool to our selves. The breakfast buffet was very average food wasn't that hot but there was plenty to choose from. I would like to say that the staff were exceptional considering the hours they worked. So over all i would not put this as a 4star hotel at the moment its more like a 3 Star.
Where it is situated is fine,10 minute walk from Bugibba but the bus station is 1 minute away, which gives you easy access to the whole island. Staff wise it is what it is,not really a fun filled atmosphere full of conversation and banter type place, when your staff don’t have the required training or simply the right types of personalities, with such a diverse mixture of backgrounds what do you expect. I would employ Maltese, but the key here is that businesses want to save money, customer service and satisfaction is clearly irrelevant, profit first. Rooms ok,simple things,tv remote broken, easy to replace but haven’t. Biggest problem and annoyances is having no air con,and not just myself, many “PAYING” guests, and the first 2 responses were that it’s ok,it’s working when it clearly wasn’t,moved me to another room,4 days later, stopped working, next day working again, last 3 days not working, absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. Overall, good location, decent looking, staff not the best,(some great too) but generally no,response to customer issues? Hopeless. I could go on but I won’t. Would I stay again? No, if all of these issues were fixed? Definitely. But don’t let this put you off coming to Malta, the Maltese are brilliant and Malta is just the best,so come and enjoy, just pick a better hotel.😉. P.s. I took a pick of the floor outside of the lift on level 3,if anyone cuts their foot on the sharp ages they could be in trouble. And so,to the Hotel Santana? You MUST do better.
