First impressions ..modern open plan seating area adjacent to the bar .Go down steps into the foyer to the reception desk (there is a disable lift so no worries about the stairs ).small reception area checked in had to pay tax (standard when visiting alot of countries now) they also took incidental paymeny which is still pending back to my account .we stayed on the 2nd floor could take stars or they do have a small lift .The room on entery went straight into a kitchen ,cooker ,fridge ,kettle ,coffee maker and toaster the cupboards contained 4 of everything all you needed if you were self catering in the kitchen ac unit and tv on the wall great first impression fridge and oven both clean inside .next room had a wardrobe and a so called day bed which was quite hard (for us it was suppose to be our seating area but it was very comfy and quite warm as no fan or ac unit so if you were using as a extra bedroom it wouldnt of been a comfy stay the balcony over looke the back of other units nit a great view .but we didnt use it so didnt bother us ,along the corridor 2 more bedrooms one twin great size room with ac unit and a wall mounted fan .clean bedding could do with a mirror in that room as my daughters couldnt see to get ready .main bedroom was a double bed quite a small double bed so if you and your partner are on the large size you wont be comfy. Room had wardrobe ,bedside table ,dressing table and mirror, ac and wall mounted fan all very clean .balcony leading off this room you can see the bay through the apartments . Bathroom a decent walk in shower with shower curtain (enough room that you dont get caught up in the shower curtain😉)decent size sink, mirror and hairdryer all very good would of been nice to of had some kind of shelf near the sink to put some of my extra toiletries (but great that they do have a shelf in the shower). So far all good clean towels and bedding the only downfall was the mattresss were all really hard by the end of the week my back hurt. We stayed half board .Breakfast was great couldnt fault it the usual bacon, eggs, sausage ,beans etc all very hot and they kept it all clean .Evening meal was the same all hot and the area kept clean only issuse we found was it was very mish mash choice of food but we found something ,if you are a picky eater may not be for you ..(the potatoes they did at every dinner were fantastic) pudding was a selection of 3 cakes or you could ask for ice cream .drinks were not included the staff brought you a drinks menu which you ordered ,brought to your table then you settled up the bill on leaving .staff friendly and kept the tables clean. Could fault the whole dining experience.. The bar area staff great ,good selection of drinks . The hotel has a mini mart onsite great selection of food espically if self catering or just for snacks . The Hotel is near other resturants and about 10mins walk to the beach its all down hill ,so its a slight inclimb goin back to the hotel . This is our first time to malta and this hotel was a great base for us we would stop here again if we stayed in mellieha. I would recommend this hotel based on my experience. Thank you (We used buses and volt to get around .From the hotel to silema on the bus it cost €10 for 4 of us were as it was about €20 by volt. Popeye village isnt that far away from the hotel .)
Luna exceeded our expectations this week. Our room was well positioned with everything we needed including A/C, a wall fan, kitchenette, fridge with freezer compartment and a smart TV. We stayed on a self catering basis and made good use of the supermarket (which is better priced than other local shops). We were very impressed by the food and ate at either the Sky bar or Don Tonino most days (either snacks/ lunch/ eve meal). Great range of options and plenty for veggies. We found all the staff to be helpful and approachable. The hotel has a great green pledge and this commitment is visible to guests. We found the shared spaces to be very well maintained and serviced (it’s clear the hotel has a rolling programme of maintenance - roof jacuzzi is being refurbed at the minute). There were always sunbeds round the pool and plenty of umbrellas for the current scorching temperatures!
It’s located within easy walking distance of the beach (take wet shoes) and other restaurants as well as bus stops. Public transport in Malta is really easy!
Would return without hesitation - for value for money and overall experience this has been great!
Lovely hotel clean and tidy.. breakfast was very good .. room just what you need except bed was too hard for me and shower could have been better but it was all good… In walking distance to beach too
All staff were lovely except for one in particular a bar man his name is Henry, he is very rude to all, he definitely hasn't got a personality for a bar man, but all the rest are lovely
What can I say ,first time in Malta (won’t be the last ) had a great time. the luna is lovely ,the staff are amazing always polite and very friendly (shout out to presica on reception first contact when we arrived such a lovely lady) The breakfast is first class plentiful and a very good choice from cereal to cooked hot food The rooms are very big and spacious and the bed very comfortable everything you need for a decent holiday As for the roof top pool and bar it’s first class the large jacuzzi was great just to chill chat If your looking for a great beach and not a 5 minute walk from the hotel then mellieha beach is perfect in every way ,very shallow and warm great for the little ones Overall we had a great stay and will be going back at some point in time I would advice anyone who asks to go to the luna it’s great P.s if you do go hire a car and go over to Gozo the ferry port is 10 mins by car ,it’s an amazing island and worth 2 days
