When you really want to get away from it all, the Ramla Bay Resort is an ideal destination. With its own 350 metre stretch of coastline, it occupies a secluded spot on the northern coast. It all feels very exclusive and when you're sipping a long, cool drink on the private sandy beach you'll appreciate just what a special resort this is.
Exclusivity doesn't mean being cut off from the rest of the island though. Not a bit of it. Mellieha is nearby– a charming hilltop village – and a popular destination for sightseers. Further along the coast, you'll find more fantastic beaches and places to explore.

There's a moment in every good holiday when you really start to relax. Sometimes it only happens a day or two before you're going home. At the Ramla Bay Hotel, it usually comes very quickly. With its superb facilities, enviable location and out-of-the-way exclusivity it's easy to give in to the feeling and relax completely.
So it's a good thing the accommodation is so conducive to relaxing. It's fair to say that the rooms are larger than average. All rooms feature a balcony/terrace. Rooms at the Ramla Bay Resort are complete with en-suite bathroom, hairdryer, air conditioning, flat-screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities, telephone and free Wi-Fi. Your room also includes a complimentary safe, ironing facilities, pool towels, and a mini bar stocked once upon arrival. Seaview rooms are available at a supplement.
As well as the splendour of its own private beach (May to October), the Ramla Bay Hotel features three outdoor pools and an indoor pool; they also run outings to the local watersports centre. In addition, you can play a quick game of tennis, tone up in the gym, followed by a spa treatment or a visit to the snack bar.
A choice of two light, airy hotel restaurants maintain the same levels of quality, ensuring your relaxation and your contentment levels stay topped up for the duration of your stay.

fab hotel, amazing food but no entertainment
Located right out of the way, lovely views and an island within arms reach (almost!) Hotel fabulous, clean, freshly decorated, huge rooms, massive bathroom but a shelf missing for your things. Swimming pools all five of them beautifully clean and maintained daily. all the sunloungers were 'all in one style' which means no finger trapping and were all new and plenty of stock. Thick fluffy towels allocated, bar very nicely sticks, loved the strawberry fizz. Food was absolutely superb, i'm a real fussy eater, the tacos were very tasty, good quality fish and pasta, loads of salad, loved the bread n butter pissing and apple crumble for breakfast!! yes very unusual but well made. The pannacotta and fruit pies were a delight - all that was missing was cream - they did offer Chantilly cream but that was a bit sweet for me.
staff friendly and polite, nothing too much trouble. everything appeared to be 5 euros, ice cream, drinks, coffee etc.... I didn't like their alcoholic coffees, very bitter coffee, so chose a latte and put a Baileys in it!
Bus pick up located 500 years away - went to Valetta for the day which was lovely.
Hotel - no entertainment not cards,games pool table, bingo or music.. that's the only disappointing thing. The English staff on reception were very helpful.

Slightly too expensive but good
Ramla Bay Resort Junior Suite, sea view, breakfast and dinner included, 7-day stay during the second week of October. Location – The hotel is situated in the northern part of Malta. The surrounding area is quiet. It is an excellent spot for those who enjoy lounging by the pool, families with children (especially preschoolers), and hiking enthusiasts. There is a bus stop nearby, though buses run infrequently; we didn't use them. We went on a few hikes of no more than 8 kilometers—visiting the Red Tower, the White Tower, and viewpoints on the eastern side of the peninsula. The ferry terminal to Gozo is about 2 km away—a half-hour walk. A round-trip ticket costs €4.65; the ticket is valid for 6 months but cannot be used for buses on Gozo. The hotel features an "IKEA style"—inexpensive furniture and a stark, minimalist décor lacking aesthetic flourishes. However, it is functional. At reception, you can borrow or buy a power adapter if you’ve arrived from outside the UK. The complex includes a shop, restaurants and bars, four cold-water pools, and plenty of sun loungers for sunbathing. There is also a small sandy beach nearby; the sea temperature was 26.2°C, making it significantly warmer than the pools. The food is good—one of the hotel's biggest pluses. There is also a gym, a large playroom for young children, and two indoor spa-style pools, though these are small with limited capacity. Beach towels are available for rent, included in the room rate. The overall atmosphere differs from that of family-run hotels; this is a corporate-operated establishment. The room—a junior suite—is spacious, measuring 70 square meters. It features two bathrooms and a balcony over a dozen meters long, offering a lovely sea view. The quality of the beds is not exceptional, though the air conditioning is excellent. The staff is diligent, but as they are seasonal workers, they sometimes lack a certain level of professionalism—though this is not a major issue.
In summary, this is a solid option for those looking to escape the city or for those who enjoy hiking. There is not much to explore in the immediate vicinity in terms of restaurants or entertainment. The room rates are high. The hotel caters to organized groups, including athletes. A significant plus is the designated non-smoking area in the outdoor dining space; unfortunately, no such area exists around the swimming pools.

Great hotel to stay at.
Go for one of the panoramic rooms views of the sea are first class and there’s lots of room. If you need it rooms are cleaned ever day and free bottle of water. All hotel staff are realy helpful and friendly. Car hire is easy to sort out in the reception area at a good price, would recommend this to go to Gozo and travel round Malta.This hotel is in a really good spot on the island and would definitely recommend and stay here again.
