A Relaxing Retreat & Unbeatable Dining at Radisson Blu Golden Sands
We recently stayed at the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa Golden Sands for a relaxing break, and if you are looking for a completely stress-free holiday without much hassle, this resort is an incredible choice.
Pools & Private Beach: Fantastic amenities if you just want to unwind. Between the outdoor lagoon pools, the warm indoor pool and indoor jacuzzi, and direct access to the private beach facilities, there are plenty of spots to lounge, you will never find it crowded or noisy. There is also an adult pool.
Relaxed Vibe: Staff are attentive, we never have to wait to check in and out as guest relations staff quickly welcome us whenever the check in counter is occupied. At the pool and beach, there is no pressure to order food or drinks while lounging. You can truly relax on the sun deck all day undisturbed. Towel service is very well managed, and joining the morning aqua gym class with cheerful, energetic and welcoming instructors brightened up our day!
Concierge: We booked our shuttle to Mdina via the concierge desk and also book our shuttle to airport on our departure. Everything is clear and spot on. The lady at the concierge desk is lovely and helpful. If you have anything about your day trips or cab service with them, she is knowledgeable. The drivers for shuttle and cab are professional and you wont worry about any of their trips. The concierge is also 5 star service.
Unbeatable Dining: Food was a major standout of our stay. Although the buffet wasn’t operating every night, our half-board allowance converted into generous daily restaurant credits that were more than enough for a full meal. Dinner at Agliolio (Italian) was lovely, and Essence of India was absolutely outstanding. Book in advance and requesting your seat is highly recommended if you want to look at the stunning sunset of the Golden Sands Bay.
Resort Layout: The hotel complex is huge with separate accommodation towers, so expect a quick learning curve on day one to figure out the lifts and hallways! But there are signage everywhere, just walk a bit more if you lost your way.
Bar Location: If you are an early sleeper who values quiet nights, you may want to request a room on a higher floor or away from the main bar area, as live music carried upstairs past 11:00 PM on one night of our stay.
Despite the late-night music, we had a wonderful, restful stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this resort!

A Beautiful Resort with Outstanding Dining and Service
We had a wonderful stay at the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Golden Sands. The setting is absolutely beautiful, with spectacular views over Golden Bay and a relaxing atmosphere that makes the resort feel like a destination in itself.
The property is well maintained, the pools and beach are excellent, and the spa added another nice element to the stay. We also found the staff throughout the resort to be friendly, helpful, and welcoming.
The dining was a particular highlight. Our dinner at Essence of India was outstanding. The food and service were exceptional and easily one of the best experiences of our trip. We also had an excellent meal at Agliolio, although the service there was not quite as polished as what we experienced at Essence of India.
Overall, we were very impressed with the resort and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Between the beautiful location, excellent amenities, good food, and warm hospitality, the Radisson Blu Golden Sands provided a memorable ending to our time in Malta. We would happily return.

Beautiful but not worthy of 5*
Stunning location plus we paid for double room with sea view which was well worth it. Although we felt a little isolated as there’s nothing much around the hotel it was a great base for going to everywhere eg boat trips and buses. Personally, would’ve liked couple of shops/bars nearby and somewhere to go for a walk after dinner- we had to settle for a walk around the pools! Cannot fault the staff-friendly and helpful which made for a very pleasant atmosphere. If you pay for half board , breakfast and dinner is served in the Flavours restaurant. Wide variety of delicious food. The staff were amazing-nothing was too much trouble. Special mention to:Vikul, Jerry and Szilvia . Although the view was breathtaking, we were surprised and disappointed by how shabby the room was. Generous size but not luxurious like the ground floor of the hotel. Almost all fixtures and fittings had visible signs of wear and tear, holes around plug sockets that needed plastering, grout in the bathroom needed redoing, painted walls required attention. Basically, needed a refurb. First 5hotel we’ve been to after booking 4 previously and we were disappointed. Unfortunately, on our last 2 days the hotel was preparing for a large group/convention which took over. Part of the poolside closed off, main restaurant shut for evening which had a knock on effect on rest of guests.
