Radisson Blu Resort and Spa Golden Sands

Excellent, unfussy service. The Indian restaurant, Essence, was superb.

My husband and I stayed her for 10 nights in June. First impressions as we came into reception was that it is very grand and luxurious. The staff were very welcoming and efficient and both check in and check out was quick and easy. BA cancelled our flight home at the last minute and the staff were fantastic in helping us contact the company providing the transportation to the airport and also our carparking company in the UK to rearrange pick up times. We had a sea view suite in the Twilight Tower, which is the middle one of the 3, and it was massive with a living area including a sitting room and an open plan kitchen and patio doors going out to the balcony which had a truly awesome view over the hotel swimming pools and Golden Bay. The kitchen area included a large fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, pots/pans, crockery/cutlery, chopping board, cloths, brushes....literally everything you could need. We were given 2 small bottles of water every morning which were perfect for making tea with first thing in the morning. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. The pillows were a little soft for our liking but we found some firmer ones in the double wardrobe between the bathroom and bedroom. The bathroom was enormous with 2 basin areas, a walking shower and huge bath. The food quality and choice at breakfast and in the Mokka Bar was excellent which was the only restaurant we used as the menu was so good and open all day without having to book which suited us better. We chose to eat on our balcony most nights with cheeses, fruit, snacks and a bottle of wine bought from the deli shop. The deli shop is worthy of a specific mention as when I was reading reviews before we went I got the impression that it was small, poorly stocked and very expensive. I found it to be none of those things! Somebody had said they should stock fruit ...... they do, but it is at the back of the shop behind a shutter, as is all the diary stuff, to keep it cool. Maybe that reviewer just didn't lift the shutters? 🤷‍♀️ They really have all the ingredients you would need to cook in your room if you want to, and also chemist items and of course crisps, beers and wine... try the Maltese wine (merlot, rose and sauvignon blanc) it's delicious! The shop is not easy to find going through the hotel!! All the corridors look exactly the same and the signs are not consistent. It's far easier to find if you go out to the pools and walk in the direction of the adult pool. You'll see a big blue sign for Blueberry's bar and the doors behind the sign into the hotel lead you straight into the deli. The quality of the food poolside is fantastic and the staff wander around taking orders for drinks and food all day. The beach does have a little private area but the sun loungers are very close together and not moveable and we prefer a bit more space to ourselves so we stayed up by the pools during the day. The hotel and pools did get very busy over the weekend. All the staff were awesome and always ready to help. It's obligatory to specifically mention Henri, who welcomes you most days at breakfast, the guy is a legend! But I would also like to shout out Jerry who was amazingly friendly and attentive at breakfast and who always remembered how we liked our tea and bought it over when he saw us arrive. Atharva at the pool was also an absolute star! We absolutely loved the resort and will definitely be going back and will probably take our grandchildren with us 😎

Everything was great. Sometimes the food and drink service at the beach was slow.
