To be fair I did only pay £155 for a 3 night all inclusive break which was booked through a local travel agents (offer).
Read the reviews before leaving and was expecting the worst and to have to go to another hotel.
First impressions hotel looked fine, lad on reception was alright and the look of reception was fine.
Got to my room and thought oh my I cannot stay here, there was a little seating, pull out bed are and it was minging to say the least , a manky chair with cigarette burn in it and really old curtains and yucky sofa bed.
Next the bathroon, which needed a serious up date the grouting was muck black and a rubber hose shower with mildew.
However when i walked into the bedroom part it was new furniture and bed and bedding was clean so I could actually cope with it.
Food: The breakfasts were fine, I had no complaints, however lunch and evening meal I did struggle with and the food was repetitive although i really liked the garlicky potatoes that were on one day.
The bar in the reception area of the hotel Jack was canny. The barman was friendly and the drinks good with a mixture of music playing.
Location of the hotel was canny with a few busy bars in close proximity.
A must is the happy hour cocktails in Nine Lives on the beach €4 with beautiful views of the sea and sunsets, food here was also really good.
So on a whole I was expecting to be giving a 1☆ but found I could actually give a 2☆. Would I stay here again - No.
Stayed in this hotel and second I got here I was quarantined. So was not a pleasant stay but for 1-2 staff members my stay was as good as could be for the situation. One Maltese fella who worked there was great fetching me timpana and other things. The proper ray of light was a lady who grabbed loads of stuff for me and definitely made my quarantined stay comfy as could possibly be. Think she was assistant manager and if it weren’t for her I’d been climbing the walls from start of my trip. She was great, ringing from reception every day she was there and making sure I had food and anything I asked for she would grab for me on her travels. Dinners etc and plenty of it,fruit etc supplied by hotel so please bugibba hotel this lady should be looked after as not many staff like her. I would of give hotel 2 star rating but have to give a 5 star coz of this one lady staff member. Thanks v much
We stayed at the Bugibba hotel in March this year, there were 22 of us altogether, two of us and a baby and my mum and a friend but 22 of us in total. We booked with the others and went for this hotel because of the price, I didn’t even see pictures of the hotel until after booking. I came on here to look at the reviews and found that a lot of them were terrible and I honestly felt like cancelling. I was SO PLEASANTLY SURPRISED when we arrived at the hotel! The lobby was nice as you walked in and the dining room was lovely also! Yes, slightly tired looking in places but really pleasant and comfortable. Our rooms were basic but clean and comfortable and I honestly couldn’t believe how nice it was for the price! We stayed on a B&B basis and I was so impressed with the breakfast, everything you could think of was on offer and was hot and fresh and nothing ever ran out while we were there. The outdoor pool area was nice and clean with a nice little bar. It was too cold to use the outdoor pool so we used the indoor pool, again it was dated and a bit tired but we enjoyed it, my baby girl had her first ever swim in there! The hotel also has its own pub that you can access from the outside or from in the lobby, it’s nothing special, again a bit tired and dated but certainly not bad. I didn’t use the bar personally as it was quite loud and I had my baby but others in the party did and had a good night! The location of the hotel is perfect too! Directly opposite is a cafe/bar, a pub (Munchies which is excellent) a very cheap and friendly hair salon and a small supermarket type shop, again with very friendly and helpful staff. The road the hotel is on has lots of bars and restaurants and is only a short walk away from Bugibba square, the beach and the bus station and on that walk, or if you walk in any direction in fact, you are passing lots and lots of bars and restaurants. All in all I absolutely loved staying in this hotel and we are all going back in May next year! I was actually looking to go back this year but it is more expensive for the remainder of this year and with the way things are I’m not too sure I want to travel anyway. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because it is a bit dated and tired in places but very nice and comfortable and absolutely EXCELLENT for the price!
I can’t wait to go back next year! 😃
The hotel was Amazing, all staff were extremely kind and understanding. The hotel had small issues and was shame that the restaurant and bar was closed due to COVID-19.The pool was open and it looks the same in the pictures.Overall we had an amazing time in the hotel as they have apartments and they are so spacious especially for couples.
So I got two weeks for a cheap price so I wasn’t excepting to much. The place was big and clean but pretty tired. The pool was clean. The lift made some weird noises. The wasn’t much in the way of cookware. The indoor pool was closed due to COVID-19. The restaurant and pub onsite was closed but there was two places across the street to eat at and a shop. Location is good. Be prepared to leave €50 deposit for breakage in the room.
