Perfect venue. No notes. 💖
PERFECT.
I didn’t stay as I had an apartment but I was here every day it was so good.
5 things made this.
- The Staff. No matter how good a venue is, if you have the wrong people, everything else is pointless.
Honestly they were so lovely! I was in Gozo on my own for the week, every day they made me feel so welcome and were so chatty and warm. I’d like to give a special shout out to Katy for brightening my mornings 💖 she was the perfect person to greet you each day. Dale was on hand in the evenings and again made me feel welcome and was super chatty. 💖 Then Oliver and Emin on the roof - you took care of me every day, always topping up my glass and flipping the umbrella up and down when I needed. You were both very attentive. Everyone else was great but these were the 4 that really stood out. If there are staff bonuses or awards…. I’d say they deserve them. Thank you for making my trip so special.

The vibe. This was a bit of me. It’s very considered from the art, the scents, the lighting. It’s a beautiful space, all levels. There were different pockets and experiences all over the venue. Also loads of events from DJs, acoustic music, karaoke etc.

Roof pool. I had no idea this existed and was delighted to find it. Xlendi is beautiful and has lots of natural charm, but if you want to have a luxe afternoon with delicious cocktails and great music. Go to the roof!!! Again - lovely staff.

The food. LOADS of options and as a vegetarian I was pleased to say I was spoiled for choice. Not the one option that I’m used to when I go abroad. What made it better was…

Value. Incredible value. I was shocked at how well priced everything was and the quality of it. Lovely drinks and wines, and again the food - I had a pizza most days for lunch on the roof.
Whilst I can’t say about the rooms as I didn’t stay, I have looked at them and would book in a heartbeat.
Also good to know - they have a diving school! I didn’t have time to book.
I’m not one for repeat visits as I like to experience new things usually but this has everything I wanted. Highly recommended.

The perfect day
My friend and I have just spent a fabulous day at Above enjoying the sun & pool. The food & drinks were excellent. Thank you Oliver for looking after us.
Great place.
Studio apartment spacious and had everything needed. Lovely to have complimentary coffee. Rooftop pool excellent. Well set out, plenty of beds and seats. Only thing was the €20 charge for sun bed, should only be €10 for hotel guests. Oliver was so helpful and always cheerful, great employee. Food and drinks at Above and Front bar great and good selection.

What a lovely place
Really modern boutique hotel which well run and very clean. Rooms are well maintained and you can see the attention to detail in the fittings that have been used. Food and drink competitively priced, never felt expensive. Happy hour was great. Roof top pool and lounge area well run and staffed, ( Oliver really looked after us). Staff are all polite and attentive and work as a team really looking after you. We really liked this hotel for its location and amenities and also being attached to the dive centre below. Can’t fault the place. Thank you for a lovely stay.
