We stayed here for 10 days and it was absolutely perfect. For a longer trip we opted for the room with a large balcony and it was gorgeous to sit and watch the sunset. Very clean hotel. Friendly staff and helpful for all needs. Great air con and gorgeous bath in the room to cool down after a warm day out and about in Gozo. Thank you!
The hotel is situated in a nice square . Unfortunatly when we arrived there was a bad smell of drainage which was even in our room. We advised reception and even emailed but not even an answer.
Michelle the manager was wonderful! Nothing was too much trouble and her attention to detail was first rate (e.g. she arranged, without our even asking, for a take-away breakfast for us as our taxi on our day of departure left before breakfast was served). The room was very comfortable with all the facilities you could need (incl. a fridge, hair dryer, ironing board and iron), though ours was a 'comfort' room not a 'deluxe' one. The situation on Xewkija's main square was perfect, with several bars and two good restaurants literally on the doorstep. Yet there was no problem with noise at night. The very effective air conditioning meant that one could keep the windows closed to keep out the heat and any noise. Breakfast, with a cooked option, is taken in Giovanni's restaurant, directly next to the hotel.
I stayed 4 nights with friend from end of May to June the hotel is only staffed in the morning for. Few hours access is via key pas all instructions sent prior to arrival room was spacious, had everything, stocked with water and tea and coffee and toiletries, cleaned every day. Reception staff friendly. Breakfast was next door basic continental but were making eggs to order which was nice in the price. Staff at breakfast were so friendly, and kind. The location is 25 min walk to centre and all how hill but up hill coming back. We got taxis to get down and up, 10-15 min walk to nearest shops selling grocery items. The hotel is in a square it has 3-4 eateries but in the afternoon they don’t serve food only in evening, hence the need to go into Gozo town centre called Victoria. The hotel area offered a peaceful surrounding area at night, but to get anywhere ie to ferry terminal or beach you needed a taxi plenty of Ubers and bolt, add this to cost of holiday.
An excellent hotel, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful catering for dietary needs with no problem. The rooms were large and spacious, the beds very comfortable and the room serviced every day to a very high standard. We checked out the day before as we had an early next day start and the receptionist asked if we would like a breakfast to take with us. On our return to the room a bag for each guest containing fruit, juice, water and even a hand wipe had been left for us. I’ve stayed in 5* hotel where the service has been horrendous and this is classed as only a 3*! The village is small but has a good regular bus service within easy reach which will take you to various parts of the island or to Victoria where you can change buses using the same €2.50 ticket. A couple of nice restaurants in the square around the hotel and a beautiful church. A lovely friendly, helpful clean hotel which made our stay in Gozo even more enjoyable.
