The Segond Hotel

Very disappointing experience

We chose Segond Hotel specifically because of the plunge pool. The hotel description stated that it would be kept at the perfect temperature for any season, which was one of the main reasons we booked this room.

Unfortunately, when we arrived, the water was extremely cold. We were later informed that the heater had been turned off for the season, despite this never being mentioned during the booking process. This made the description misleading, and as a result, we were unable to use one of the main features we had paid for, especially during the evenings.

We contacted management to try to resolve the issue, but unfortunately nothing was done. Instead of receiving meaningful assistance, we were directed to an AI chat service that did not provide a solution.

The breakfast was also very disappointing. The selection was extremely limited, mainly consisting of salad and bread, with very few substantial breakfast options available. There were condiments such as ketchup and mayonnaise available, yet there was no proper hot breakfast selection.

Overall, we feel that the hotel did not deliver what was advertised. We booked this hotel based on specific amenities and descriptions, but our expectations were not met.

We hope the hotel improves its transparency regarding its facilities, customer service and breakfast offering so future guests do not have the same experience

Fantastic stay! The hotel was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and anything we needed was dealt with immediately. The rooftop was definitely the highlight, with amazing views and a great atmosphere. Breakfast was good, though a few more options would make it even better. Overall, a wonderful experience and we’d happily stay here again!

I booked suite with Plunge pool, the room was spacious enough very clean, I arrived there around 1;45 pm the receptionist was very kind and he said still early to check in but the room is ready i will let you in with master code and then i will receive the code by 3pm fair enough, I was so happy at the first 4 hours and I enjoyed the pool, relaxed, watching the TV then issues, started in the middle of watching a movieThe TV screen went dark! I then suggested that it might need to restart, but it didn't work, and when it was time to leave, my hair was still damp and my hair dryer wasn't working. I also couldn't use the Dolce Gusto coffee maker! I requested the iron and iron board when I made my reservation, and I was charged €3.00 even though I wasn't in the room.

Naturally, I kept contacting Zzziling about the problem, particularly with the TV, but no one ever showed up to inspect it. They said it would be rectified first thing in the morning, but it wasn't until the evening after 6 p.m., despite numerous communications on WhatsApp and then they gave me a number to contact the technician and I refused its not my responsibility to do so , so they agreed. They then provided me a number to call the technician, but I declined because it wasn't my job, so they agreed. After that, I had to pick up my iron and board from the kitchen before heading out to dinner, but I couldn't find a hair dryer. I was tired of reporting every single problem. The next day, the breakfast options were very limited. And I said, "Let me have a cappuccino from the machine," but it was just water because the coffee had finished! Another guest and I had to report to the waiter, who handled the situation.

After a long day, hot and fatigued, I returned to the hotel around 3:15 p.m. for a little nap, but my room was not ready! Once again I communicated via WhatsApp and spoke with the receptionist, and I had to wait more than half an hour before being able to use my room.

The next day, I had breakfast outside the hotel shopping complex and I really enjoyed it.

Be advised that there will be no receptionist by 4:00 as it will be self-checking, so if you have an issue, you will have to wait until the next day to have it resolved.

If you are willing to book, be sure that everything works properly; otherwise, you will be dissatisfied and frustrated.

Above all, the hotel is quite clean, although they need more organization on many levels to be near to flawless.

I had my own car ,If you don't you'll need to take a taxi as there aren't any close restaurants or shops. they said there is mini market near by and closes at 7:00.

I won't say don't go there, but make sure everything works, even if you have to call them before booking and after booking to confirm everything is well.

I've been to Gozo many times, and it's a great nice spot to visit and relax, and the Gozitans are kind and cheerful people and I will keep going.
