Ta Cenc Hotel and Spa is an island paradise within an island paradise. Set amongst 400 acres of beautiful grounds on the island of Gozo, Ta Cenc Hotel and Spa occupies its own private realm looking down over Gozo and across to Malta and Comino.
Built in keeping with the traditional local style, Ta Cenc Hotel and Spa is unlike any other hotel in Gozo or Malta. It is designed for your complete and utter relaxation; five star luxury is a way of life here.
Built on Gozo's highest point, the Ta Cenc Hotel and Spa affords unparalleled views. From this vantage point, you really do feel unencumbered by life's day-to-day worries. All that matters is the clean air, the astonishing landscape and the soothing rays of the sun. Peace and tranquillity reign. If ever a holiday could offer a transcendent experience, this is it.
In keeping with the local style, Ta Cenc Hotel and Spa is tastefully furnished – with lots of real wood and local stone, reinforcing that feeling of being at one with nature. Guest rooms are tastefully appointed, but come with all the modern facilities you'd expect, including cable TV, telephone, and tea/coffee making facilities. You will also enjoy your own private terrace or garden – just ask for more details.
For many, the spa itself will be the main attraction. In its indoor and outdoor heated pools, its sauna and steam bath, you can luxuriate in peace and quiet and savour each moment. To ensure every single care is lifted off your shoulders, the wellness centre also offers a Jacuzzi and massage service. (While those looking to get sporty can enjoy the gym and tennis courts.)
With all of Gozo stretched out below you, there is so much to experience and enjoy. But you may find that a week isn't even long enough to fully enjoy the Ta Cenc Hotel and its own surroundings, let alone Gozo. Still, with a superb hotel restaurant and extensive entertainment facilities, there isn't really any necessity to leave the hotel if you don't want to.
Visitors to the Ta Cenc Hotel and Spa enjoy a particularly special kind of holiday ambience and a unique sense of tranquillity that is very hard to resist.

Ta' Cenc, an island within an island for those who are looking for that special holiday of complete tranquillity and relaxation.
Built on Gozo's highest point, overlooking majestic cliffs and affording a magnificent view across to the islands of Malta and Comino, it is set in 400 acres of grounds. This very different hotel is built in local style so that it blends in with the surrounding landscape. The whole setting is one of remoteness at peace with nature.
A very comfortable resort south of Victoria close to the cliffs towards Malta. The place is nested into the typical nature of Malta/Gozo. The rooms are clean and spacious and offer even some private terrace. The bathrooms could be improved by better lighting and shower-curtains. The hotel area offers splendid pools, trees and plants.. This includes Spa-services. The overall service is friendly and helpfull . Breakfast and dinner could see some improvements, while offering almost everything of a full breakfast bar. You are well adviced to care about transportation, possibly with the help of the reception desk, we recommend the fairly reasonable rental car.
It is a perfect escape for couples and families. The Atmosphere was amazing and the food was great. A walk around the premisses shows you how calming and peacful this place is with wonderful staff.
Hotel selected for us by Kuoni through their agent Kirker, second stop in a Malta – Gozo - Malta trip. Hotel in a quiet location (Ta Sannat) around 2 miles from Victoria in a peaceful setting with sea views. Gozo is a 20 minute ferry ride from Malta and Kirker provided all transfers during our trip. This was fabulous with a pickup from hotel in Valletta (Palazzo Consiglia) and a drive straight to and onto ferry before taking us direct to Ta Cenc. Door to door service. I have noted previous reviews which comment on rooms/facilities being a little dated and, whilst this is a fair observation, rooms have been renovated or are in the process of being updated. We stayed in a classic double room which had been updated and faced the adult pool. Comfortable and roomy, with good storage space, safe and hot drink making facilities the room was sufficient for us with some complementary wine and fruit added on arrival. Bathroom had everything we needed, the corner cubicle shower was a little snug with the taps etc getting in the way occasionally. Small low level/sunken bath was available and the room was equipped with spa robes, slippers and usual selection of towels. The outside seating space was perfect for late evening drinks and the bar area and restaurant spaces were roomy with excellent service from the staff in both areas. The hotel has a quiet atmosphere with great views and is an ideal place to unwind. The adult pool had sunbeds, tables and umbrellas and was not over busy with families using the nearby children's pool at the other end of the bar area. Bar food was reasonably priced if you fancied a snack during the day as were the drinks and cocktails. The Wednesday BBQ in the bar area is a must but note that the restaurant is closed those nights as a result. We were B&B basis, and the evening meals were again reasonably priced with a good degree of choice. Breakfast menu provided an extensive choice both continental and cooked, once I found the omelette station I didn't stray too far away from it! More than enough choice to be able to start your day well. Good value for money here. The hotel was very clean as were the rooms which meant that we were very comfortable and felt well looked after. Hotel offered a spa with treatments and had an excellent gym which was well equipped, and featured a steam room, sauna cabin and an indoor/outdoor pool. Our room backed on to the end of the outdoor pool in the spa and could be a little noisy when the spa opened at 8 and guests were talking noisily near the window. Gentle moan here, noisy but not overly so unless you wanted a lie in. (A sign for guests to be considerate would work here, not sure if the noise was down to external spa guests.) Everywhere accessible using Bolt, Citadel in Victoria is a must, as is a visit to the hotels private Ta Cenc Il-Kantra restaurant down by the cliffs. We walked there and got a Bolt ride back, some small issue with driver not being familiar with the route/location but we didn't have to take up the offer of a ride in the hotel pick up to get back! Excellent food at Il-Kantra and access to additional sun loungers, small beach and the sea - take care as access is down some steep steps here. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would be more than happy to return here if we find ourselves in Gozo in the future, booking an upgraded room for even greater space and comfort.
Do not stay at this hotel. It is at best a 3 star hotel and not a 5 star hotel as advertised. Rooms shabby, bar shuts at 10.30pm Kitchen shuts at 9.30pm. Shower cubicle filthy and full of mould. Management not interested in dealing with complaint.
Hotel in a beautiful location but which is in dire need of refurbishment. The 5 star rating is definitely not merited- at it's current standard it should have 3 stars at best. The rooms especially (we stayed in one of the bungalows/trulli) feel run-down. There isn't a proper shower but a bath where it takes ages to get the right water temperature. The water goes from cold to boiling hot and vice versa. The TV in the room is not up to standard either. The same goes for the service- very slow and inattentive.
Pity because you can tell that the hotel was once beautiful and merited its 5 stars- perhaps in back in the 90s. With a bit of renovation and attention, its true potential can come to the fore once again.
