- Zante Maris Suites

The company Xenos Group Hotels, following its guests demand for a new small luxury hotel that will offer customised service of high standards, has decided the construction of a new unit, the Zante Maris Suites. The hotel operating for adults only who will be treated individually. Located in the famous resort of Tsilivi, the hotel is set amidst a forest of olive trees on the top of a hill with panoramic views of the Ionian sea, offering high levels of privacy and tranquillity but at the same time is a stone's throw away from the lively resort, where a number of restaurants, bars and leisure facilities are offered.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
we have just returned from Zante Maris Suites what an incredible experience! the hotel is just perfect in every way we stayed in a room with our own private pool it was so clean and the maid service came every day sometimes twice to make sure you always had water for the fridge and fresh towels the people are second to none, so friendly and cant do enough for you the hotel is high up so a bit of a climb but they offer a buggy service at all times if you dont fancy a walk the food is amazing! such a massive choice and they fresh cook everything we loved our week here. its so quiet and peaceful even around the main pool. thank you too all the amazing staff for making our stay so perfect!
Overall Experience
Zante Maris Suites is, without any doubt, the best hotel I have ever stayed in. From start to finish, the whole experience was utterly magnificent. I have been lucky enough to stay in some excellent places over the years, but this was on another level entirely. Everything about the hotel felt special, effortless and genuinely memorable. It is one of those rare places that gets absolutely everything right and leaves you wondering how anywhere else is supposed to compare afterwards.
Service
The service was the best I have ever experienced anywhere. It was consistently exceptional throughout the whole stay and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. Every interaction was smooth, every request was handled quickly, and everything was done with real care and professionalism. The standard of service was so high that it genuinely changed the whole feel of the holiday. It was luxurious without ever feeling forced, and efficient without losing the personal touch.
Staff
The staff were a huge part of what made this the best hotel and overall experience I have ever had. They were warm, welcoming, attentive and genuinely brilliant throughout. What stood out most was the way they made everything feel easy and natural. They were always there when needed, always friendly, and clearly took great pride in what they do. It is not an exaggeration to say that they helped turn a fantastic hotel into an unforgettable experience.
Rooms
Our room, 107, was absolutely marvellous. It was massive, spotless, beautifully laid out and felt like a real treat from the minute we walked in. The sunken bath was a brilliant feature and gave the room a real sense of luxury. The balcony was another standout and, in my view, had the best view in the hotel. We spent hours sitting out there just looking over Planos Bay, and it became one of our favourite parts of the whole trip. The room was not just comfortable, it was a proper experience in itself.
Facilities
The facilities across the hotel were superb. The pool, restaurant and bar were all excellent and maintained to a really high standard. One of the smartest things about the hotel is the app, which is an absolute must. We used it all the time for food, drinks, room service, maintenance for the air conditioning, extra towels, water, shower gel, coffee and even to request a buggy. It made everything seamless and meant we genuinely never had to lift a finger. Even the little details were handled brilliantly. We also had no trouble getting a sunbed, despite usually heading down after midday following a late breakfast around 10:40. I also hired a bike during the trip and the team stored it safely behind reception without any fuss at all. It was just another example of how easy they make everything.
Food & Drink
The food and drink were the best we have had anywhere in the world. That is a big statement, but fully deserved. Everything was consistently excellent in terms of quality, presentation and taste. The drinks were especially impressive, all made fresh to order and a cut above what you often get even in very good hotels. There was a real sense of quality in everything being served, and it added massively to the overall experience.
Location
The hotel is set up a steep hill, but it is absolutely worth it. The elevated position gives it a stunning outlook and adds to the feeling that you are staying somewhere really special. Once you are there, the views and overall setting more than make up for the climb. And with the buggy service available whenever needed, it never became an issue anyway. In truth, the location is part of what makes the place feel so unique and luxurious.
Value
We booked direct and got a great deal, so I would absolutely encourage people not to be afraid to get in touch and ask the question. Given the level of quality across the hotel, the service, the food, the rooms and the whole overall experience, we felt it represented excellent value for money. When you combine that with the quality of the made-to-order drinks and everything else included in the stay, it felt more than worthwhile.
Atmosphere
The atmosphere at Zante Maris Suites is relaxed, sophisticated and classy. It manages to feel luxurious without being stuffy, and stylish without ever becoming pretentious. There is a calm, polished feel to the whole place, which makes it incredibly easy to switch off and enjoy yourself. It strikes the balance perfectly and creates the kind of environment you do not want to leave.
Would We Recommend
Without hesitation, yes. I would absolutely return and would recommend Zante Maris Suites to anyone looking for a top-class hotel experience. In fact, we are already looking at booking again for next May, which probably says everything that needs to be said. This place set a new benchmark for us and, quite honestly, I am not sure anywhere else will top it.
Overall this is a very good hotel with a number of strengths but there were a few flaws as well.
When we arrived and entered through a solid wooden gate (no revolving doors or marbled lobby area) we were impressed by the tranquil and exclusive feel. We were also impressed by the genuine welcome and helpfulness of the staff. Check-in was smooth and efficient - greatly helped by a delicious rum based “welcome cocktail” (an alcohol free version was offered but politely refused!).
Herein lies the hotel’s greatest asset - the staff. Seldom have we stayed somewhere where all the staff have been so consistently friendly and helpful. Greek hospitality at its very best.
Following check-in we were taken to our room by a buggy. In a separate block and slightly uphill from the reception / restaurant / bar / pool area our room had a shared swim-up pool and a delightful sea view. However, first impressions apart, the room did not wow. On the positive side the large bed was very comfortable. There is also a pillow menu and a Nespresso type coffee machine with coffee pods (in addition to a kettle, coffee sachets, tea bags etc.).
The decor, though, is minimalist - nothing on the walls, for example, to soften the starkness. Housekeeping standards were good. A notice card in the room encouraged us to leave towels on the floor if we wanted them changing. Every day, though, the towels were changed regardless of where they were left. The pool towels that were provided for us were small and poor quality. Overall the quality of accommodation was out of synch with the rest of the hotel and lacked that luxury feel.
Food and bar service was, again, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was particularly good - plenty of choice and a good selection of freshly cooked hot items served to the table.
For dinner the food can be described as modern Greek. Competent cooking - fish dishes were particularly successful. Presentation was also of a good standard. Our only regret was a number of main courses were devoid of any vegetables. Particular praise for the wine list - virtually all Greek. An extensive range of wines by the glass (starting around €8 a glass) - with great help provided by an enthusiastic and knowledgable sommelier. Wine prices apart we were surprised that they charge €5 for a bottle of still mineral water. On a couple of occasions we experienced lapses in service - wrong dishes brought to the table - but these were dealt with promptly.
Bar service was also of a high standard save for the fact that o some occasions tortilla chips with olive dip was provided, and at other times there was nothing. A glass of Prosecco was €8, cocktails from €12, gin and tonic from €12.
You have to go up a steep hill to get to the hotel. To avoid the climb back up a buggy lift can be arranged by phoning reception. We never had to wait more than a few minutes before it appeared. Being away from the commercial centre of Tsilivi also helps with the exclusivity of the hotel. The beach is about a 15 to 20 minute walk.
In summary, therefore, a top rating for most aspects of the hotel except for the bedroom.
From the moment we arrived (only 2 days ago ) we were made to feel part of the family .. incredible welcome , the check in was different to anywhere I had been before. You are asked to sit , relax , bought a beautiful refreshment and ice cold towel while the lovely lady dos all your check in.
Rooms are fabulous Private pool is delightful Pool area is beautiful, and zen like Amenities in room are all bergamot.. my fave aroma Breakfast is à la carte and a banquet of flavours / tastes Staff cannot do enough for you , without being over the top !! Only 2 days in and I already know I will come back.
Just returned from our stay at Zante Maris, and we have to say it’s easily the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in. From the welcome we received on arrival until leaving for the airport the staff were so fantastic and accommodating.
Everyone who works there is so friendly and helpful, from the waiters to the maids, who do an amazing job and always topped up the complimentary water, towels and coffee pods at least twice a day. Anything we needed was no trouble.
The hotel itself is very stylish and modern. The rooms are very spacious and the air con was a godsend as it was nearly 35 degree heat outside! The private pool was incredible, what a view! Absolutely worth paying extra for this. As the hotel is based at the top of a hill, the surroundings are so quiet and peaceful.
Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice, and again, great friendly service from the waiters and waitresses. The food quality was brilliant and always well presented. The waiters and waitresses were so attentive.
You can walk into Tsilivi town in around 5 minutes, where there are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants to choose from. A very nice resort and everyone we dealt with was so welcoming and hospitable. Beach is around a 15 minute walk.
All in all, it was a fantastic holiday and we would highly recommend this hotel and resort.
