Nestled in a charming rural setting surrounded by olive groves, hills, and fields, this hotel offers a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Tsilivi is a popular holiday resort that boasts a superb beach with many facilities and gentle waters, making it ideal for families.
Sun Rise Hotel is just 500 meters from the town. It boasts an outdoor swimming pool, bar, restaurant, 24 hour reception, free wi-fi and a shuttle bus to the beach (scheduled upon managements discretion).
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We really would have liked to give a greater rating to a 4 star hotel. We will start our review with the positives. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, efficient and reasonably quiet air conditioning, spacious room, adequate and comfortable sun loungers with waterproof padded toppers, no problem getting around the pool at any time of day. Friendly staff, very good choice at breakfast, warm breakfast was cooked to order. Pool bar had poolside service although it was cashless, either pay immediately on card or charge, to room where it was possible to settle by cash payment.
The negatives. Our booking documents clearly state that our accommodation was to be a double deluxe room with pool view. The very spacious room (7m x 5m) clearly had potential room for clothes storage, there were NO drawers and NO shelving with only the equivalent of a single wardrobe with 7 coat hangers. This may be adequate for the sort term guests that use the hotel, we observed many 2 and 3 night stays, definitely not adequate for 14 nights. Earlier in the year we had moved our holiday from another resort due to bad reviews at our original booking, we elected to come to the Sunrise after reading the seemingly positive management response to similar comments last year that implied that the “management had acted on this and clothes storage provision had been made” A review posted a few weeks ago seems to highlight similar concerns with what appears to be a response comment made in reception that “ standard rooms do not have drawers and shelves “. By inference this implies that deluxe rooms do have shelving and drawers. If this is the case please indicate whether room 101 is deluxe or standard. We ostensibly paid for a deluxe room, if this is the rating for room 101 living out of suitcases for two weeks is not acceptable in a 4 star hotel. Also of concern were the 3 rusting screw heads at shoulder level protruding about 5mm from one of the shower walls.
As good as ever, the staff and the pool are really what make this place special. The pool area is like a little hideaway, sunbeds are comfy and the food area is superb. The staff though are something else. Rooms are good (maybe more coat hangers) 5 minutes from Tsilivi centre.
This is a review of two halves. First positives, pool area beautiful, relaxing, good play list, lovely bar staff. Breakfast staff lovely but very basic offering. Swan towels left on bed for my birthday . About 20 minutes walk to restaurants (we have had amazing food in the area). Lots of good places for cocktails. Negatives we paid for pool view and were stuck right on the end in 106 which technically is pool view but not really. You need to stand outside the door and crane your neck to see it. Shower leaked immediately, couldn’t come until the following day, so had soggy towels on floor all night. Next day still leaked, requested a room change which we were told was not possible. We were polite and accepted extra towels to again walk across soggy towels all night as they come out the next day. Shower repaired lasted a few days then started leaking again, didn’t bother going back just used extra towels we had as it was near end of the holiday. Then we watched in disbelief as a party came in and complained loudly that they didn’t want a room and were immediately upgraded. Guess I was too polite and should have stamped my feet instead. Day we left check out at 10. No late check outs and pointed to shower room beside the pool. No where to put bags, clean clothes without it getting wet. Think 3 star when booking, definitely lacks 4 star touches such as a courtesy room to book, repairs being left till the following day leaving you to deal with the soggy mess.
Run don’t walk u mean run past this hotel . This is not a 4 would struggle to be a 3 star. There is nowhere that tells you that you have no drawers in your room and you have to live out of your suitcase . The light fittings on our room was hanging down also the shower was not fitted properly to the wall . When wr said about the drawers I was told that a standard room has no drawers although this is not mentioned when booking through TUI. The breakfast doesn’t have much choice . If your not there by 8.00 form expect and Parma ham to be left as 3 times I asked anymore and I was told that they don’t order enough and what did I expect them to do I said order more but this never happened . There is 1 toaster for the whole of the complex and it had to be the slowest in the world . The yoghurt wasn’t Greek yoghurt . If you wanted to order eggs you couldn’t ask the person cooking them directly you had to ask the waiter . We had a fridge but this was in the wardrobe and because the safe was also in the wardrobe we couldn’t open the fridge fully . The light fittings was hanging out the ceiling . I would not recommend this hotel. The only good thing was the pool and sun loungers . The staff are friendly apart from the reception staff
Lovely hotel but no storage drawers or shelves for clothes had to live out of the suitcase for the week location it's a 15 min stroll to centre but there are a few bars and restaurants on the way rooms are pretty big WiFi a bit hit and miss you can get it on your balcony but not in the room with the balcony door shut
