White Olive Elite Laganas

I’ll start with the good ! Lush little hotel in two storey apartment blocks very modern and clean, digital rooms as in lights air con doors etc. Good sized room and balcony over looking second pool (family room) sliding glass doors. Coffee facilities, water in fridge daily lovely toiletries including toothpaste/brush razor etc. Pool area lovely relaxing tidy nice sunbeds. Great pool bar with decent daytime snacks including burgers hotdogs gyros kebabs wraps sandwiches. Restaurant lovely, option to dine in or out. Very close to Laganas strip 10 minute walk and a few bars just outside hotel. 15 mins from airport. Small but well equipped gym. Quick friendly check in with helpful staff. Self serve soft drinks beer and wine. Nice heated area in evening near the bar. Relaxed hotel not too many rules. Free safe in room. Close to beach 5 minute walk out back of hotel. Not sure what the 5 star rating means but it’s definitely only 3+ 4 at a push. Had to move rooms twice as electrics were playing up. (Sorted quick enough) Drinks were a big disappointment, extra charges on milkshake, ice coffee, coconut rum, amaretto and lots of your usual cocktails like pina colada. Only one cocktail on menu containing vodka. Tiny little cups just not nice. Food in main restaurant dreadful, I am the least fussy eater but I struggled… dry salad dry meat rice pasta potatoes. Same most nights, no Greek cuisine really disappointing ate out a lot and at snack bar. No drink service either. Entertainment was 3 nights a week, one night it rained and there was nowhere to sit or go apart from to your room?! The location of the hotel although close to bars, it’s very grotty on a main road and crappy end of town, dark dirty and derelict. Pool towels provided but not free €30 deposit and €20 for iron even though advertised as free service. No one collecting cups or rubbish until evenings. No lifeguard. Terrible shower. This hotel could be sooooo much better with a few changes. Sadly we won’t return or recommend. Lovely island just hotel not for us.

This hotel is good but definitely not 5 star. I would rate as 3/4.

Reception - quick easy check in. Had an issue with the door bell ringing on its own so room was quickly changed.

Room - Very clean and comfortable excellent shower and good amenities in the bathroom. No coffee pods however tea and instant coffee provided. 1.5 litre of water in fridge. Both available for purchase at reception. Room cleaned daily. I didn’t pay for a view however was at the side of the hotel above the walk to the beach and also above the kitchens where staff gathered near the bins. Had a balcony but never used it. Was noisy every night around 11pm when bottles and bins were being collected for a few minutes and on Wednesday where it went on for about 20 mins which was a bit annoying however bins need emptied. Would be better if it was done a little earlier maybe if possible.

Pool - good facilities. I’m not a pool person - prefer the beach - but plenty of sunbeds. Fresh towels for pool use is a deposit payable at reception and refunded before you leave.

Food - I’m not fussy and like most things. There was plenty to choose from. You wouldn’t go hungry. Unfortunately as is difficult with buffet style, food was not hot enough for my liking. Live cooking station didn’t offer anything different. Chef was cooking to fill the cold food on the buffet. Restaurant staff there to clean and didn’t smile or interact. Maybe it’s been a long season?

Drinks - self service soft drinks beer and wine. Too many wasps round this for my liking. And the wine was drinkable but not great.

Entertainment- not every night. I didn’t partake. Not my scene but seemed to suit some.

Location - very good. Quiet area but a short stroll to the beach, bars and shops and far enough away from the busy strip of clubs and bars.

I’m a bit sorry my review can’t be better. It’s a nice hotel but needs to up the game to become what a 5 star should be. You don’t pay extras for water, coffee, towels and drinks and also food needs to be better before you get a 5 star. It’s definitely at 3 & 4 star. But then if you are looking to take full advantage of all inclusive then this is ideal for quantity for your money not quality.
