Fantastic stay

We have just returned from 10 days at Domes Zante and we had a fantastic stay. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised by receiving a sea view in our room despite expecting a garden view. The room was clean and the mini fridge being restocked daily was a nice touch. The pool area was pleasant and lots of sunbeds to go around so there is no need to wake up early and reserve a bed. Towards the end of our stay it did get quite noisy around the pool but that is no fault of the hotel. The à la carte restaurants - Italian, meze and Yellow Sea were faultless. The portion sizes were large and the food and service was great. We enjoyed dining at all twice during our stay. Surfer Maya, the other à la carte, was pleasant, but as other reviews say would be better as a lunch restaurant as we were in an out within 30 minutes due to the nature of the restaurant and the food was less exciting. All of the drinks were consistently good and the service at the main bar, particularly from Maria was amazing. Elena on reception kindly recommended us a few restaurants in Zante town, one of which we tried and was delicious. Elena was also fabulous upon arrival, showing us around the property and to our room. Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay and would certainly return in future.

Lovely family hotel by the sea

My husband and I and our two boys age 10 and nearly 2 have just finished a 7 night stay at Domes Aulus Zante. We stayed in a Tropical Serenity Retreat room - 659 which although billed as garden view actually has a pretty decent sea view. The setting is gorgeous. The hotel is beachfront and you can see the beautiful blue sea from pretty much anywhere you are, which is especially nice while you're eating. The beach itself is lovely - water warm, very shallow and crystal clear. Be aware turtles nest here so there are areas you can't go but that didn't bother us at all. There are other reviews complaining the beach was messy with sticks etc - it's a nesting beach and is right in the middle of a wooded area so I don't understand these complaints at all! If you want a couple of minutes down the beach you can hire pedalos and so on. The pool at the hotel is lovely and we never struggled to get a sunbed. There is a kids' splash park (small area most suitable for under 10s although my 10 yo had a lot of fun there) on the other side of the hotel near the tennis court and a small toddler pool next to the main pool. Service at the main bar is prompt and friendly and there is a grab and go fridge with sandwiches and snacks plus self serve ice cream.

We thought the food was excellent - it was always well stocked, very fresh (particularly the large variety of salads and dips which were lovely) and always hot. Plenty of variety, always something for everyone. Breakfast is 7-11, lunch is 1-3 and dinner is 6-10 so I don't really understand reviews complaining there isn't hot food available outside these times - we didn't use the grab and go fridge at all because why would we need to with three huge meals a day?! But maybe something to be aware of if you arrive outside these times and want a hot meal immediately upon arrival.

We used the kids club for one session per day for our toddler and the ladies there are absolutely lovely - it's 30 euros per session for the under 4s which was very reasonable. It's free for the 4-12s - my 10 yo would have been a bit old for the activities on offer but there was plenty to do for under 8s.

Check in and check out very smooth and golf buggies carried us and our luggage to and from the rooms. All staff absolutely lovely. We had an issue with our AC one evening (that turned out to be our fault) and they came out at 10pm within 5 minutes to fix it and followed up with a phone call the next day to check it was still OK.

Our toddler was in bed relatively early so we can't comment on the entertainment but this is a relaxed and peaceful resort rather than a lovely, party type of atmosphere.

Our room was lovely, don't really understand the other comments about the room being small - it was plenty big enough for four of us. I guess the bathroom was a little small but it's just an en suite shower room so not sure what others were expecting. There was also plenty of storage space in the wardrobe and we are not light packers! Lovely terrace with table and sun loungers to sit out in the evening and enjoy a drink. The mini fridge in our room was restocked daily with pepsi, lemonade, orangeade, beer and water and the room was cleaned daily.

We had a really lovely family stay and I would highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely location but in our opinion not 5*

My friends and I booked The Grand Sapphire Nest interconnecting rooms last year which included a VIP lounge and terrace in the main entertainment area. This is however now being used as a kids lounge which unfortunately has open wooden slats into the main area which let's the sound in when noisy kids are using it and the small adults only terrace was always full. We were given a 20 minute back massage in lieu of this, the other small items would have been included anyway as it was all inclusive.
The rooms are quite small with minimal storage. No room for cases under bed. 3/4 of the bedside cabinet had been blocked up so had to put things on the floor. Wardrobes cramped with no full height hanging for long dresses etc. We had to use the ladders from the terrace, which are provided for drying swimwear etc, to balance hangers from, hence the swimwear had to he hung on the chairs to dry. The shower room is in need of urgent upgrading. The basin was quite disgusting, although probably nice when new, as it resembled clay/stone which had been painted grey and which now is scratched off in places, also brown "silicone" around the plug hole. A rough grouting job has been done in the shower between the base and wall. The entertainment was hit and miss, starting at 8 and finishing at 10, followed by "spa" music. A sure way to clear the place. 9 till 11 would not be unreasonable. The food was buffet style which was barely warm and with flies landing on the uncovered food. The choice was repetitive and quite limited especially for vegetarians (the lasagne, potatoes and soup was nice) It isn't ideal making up a meal of potatoes and veg and then having to use the sauce from a meat dish. There was a rotisserie of chickens and pork. The lunch in the pool restaurant served undercooked and hard chips and dried up sandwiches, again uncovered, although the "Grab and Go" fridge offered packaged sandwiches, salads etc. Too many inflatables provided by the hotel in the main pool, better to keep these in the kids pool. On the positive side, the hotel is in a fabulous quiet location, directly onto the shallow beach between Laganas and Kalimaki in a turtle conservation area. It has well planted grounds in progress, I believe, due to having had recent bad weather. Lots of sunbeds and sunshades. Good quality all inclusive drinks until midnight. Great sea view from our rooms, 243 and 244 which were on the first floor above the bar. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Clean comfy beds. In our opinion not 5* and this was made know to customer services whilst we were there which just resulted in a shrug of the shoulders.

What a fabulous hotel

What an amazing stay and find. Staff were fantastic. Special mentions to the wonderful Italian waiter and waitress, Choro behind the main bar and Elena from guest relations. All staff were amazing however the above went that extra step to make it an unforgettable experience. The hotel is far enough away from the main strip. The beach is sandy and has the turtle area cordoned off which is beautiful to see. Recommend hiring a pedalo as you can get out and see turtles. There are loads of sunbeds. Pool area gets taken quite quickly however there are loads around the sand area and we managed to get sunders on the decking area which are very comfy. All restaurants are easy to book once you download the app. Food was really good however sometimes the buffet was a bit hit and miss. Buffet breakfast could do with a omelettes person to have this whilst you wait but besides that it was a great stay. Will be looking at coming back again and definitely looking at other Aulūs hotels in Greece.

Wonderful hotel, great food, drinks and service!

We have just spent a week here as a couple in our twenties. The hotel was immaculately clean, the food in both buffet and al a carte were high standard, probably the best food we have had in an all inclusive in Greece.

Al a carte’s really are worth booking, the service and food amazing!

Pool area small but always sunbeds available no matter what time of day, and we stayed in peak season! We would have enjoyed some atmosphere by the pool as there was no music, however great if you just want to relax!

Great location for walking down the beach to Laganas strip, however I think we are too old for partying now days!!

Turtles nesting right outside the hotel so some of the beach area is cordoned off, but doesn’t affect the holiday at all.

The grounds have a very rustic feel, unspoiled land, unlike other 5 star hotels we have stayed in, in the past.

Absolutely loved our holiday here!
