Nice and friendly
Very nice place to stay, clean and friendly. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are nice and are cleaned every day, always getting fresh shower and pool towels. Quick 2 minute walk to the beach and about a 10 minute stroll in to the bars and restaurants. The cocktail bar is cute. The pool bar is good. Hotel food and drink is more expensive than Kalamaki strip but to be expected as onsite.
We would return to hotel as overall experience was very good.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our Third Year at the Marelen Hotel – And We’ll Be Back!
We have now stayed at the Marelen Hotel for three years running, and it has become a very special place for us and our family! Our first visit was just the two of us as a couple. The second year, we returned with our adult children, their partners and our granddaughter. This year, we came back with the family again, along with their best friends! I think that says it all about how much we love this hotel and the wonderful holidays we’ve enjoyed here.
The location is fantastic. Kalamaki Beach is literally a five minute walk away and is beautifully clean. The main strip is around a 10–15-minute walk, which is perfect for getting a little exercise in before heading out for dinner, and burning off a few calories on the way back!
We always choose bed & breakfast as we love exploring the local restaurants and trying different places to eat. Breakfast at the Marelen is lovely, with a wide variety of choices and something to suit everyone.
The hotel has four swimming pools and a jacuzzi, so there really is something for everyone. There’s a dedicated pool for babies and toddlers, a splash pool for toddlers and older children, a general pool for everyone to enjoy, and an adults-only pool at the rear of the hotel for those wanting a little peace and quiet. All the pool areas are kept lovely and clean, making it a great choice for families and couples alike.
The hotel itself is scrupulously clean, modern and beautifully maintained. The rooms have everything you need, with air conditioning included in the price (no extra charges!) and a safe for your valuables. Rooms are cleaned daily as needed, towels are changed every day, and pool towels are included too. It’s those little things that make a holiday comfortable and hassle-free.
When we heard that the hotel had changed ownership last year, we were a little apprehensive, as we had come to love the Marelen and hoped it would retain the same feel and high standards. There were lots of new faces this year, and it was clear there had been a significant staff changeover, although it was lovely to recognise a few familiar faces too. All the staff we encountered were friendly, and we were delighted to see that the cleanliness, care and overall standards we have come to expect from the Marelen have been maintained.
It really is a lovely, well-kept establishment, where everything is clean, tidy and looked after. We’ve made some wonderful family memories here, and it’s lovely to have a hotel that we all enjoy returning to.
Thank you, Marelen, for another fantastic holiday. We’ll continue to return year after year, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Lovely stay
Overall the hotel is beautiful, the location is so close to the airport and to the beach, and during october it is a lot quieter than peak season. The staff at reception where very helpful and when we arrived they took our bags to the room for us and took us personally on a short tour of the hotel before showing us to our room. The rooms are clean and very tidy, they have robes and Slippers for after your shower and upon arrival they provide all the necessities need like coffee tea and water. The rooms also come with a mini fridge which is great for cooling down drinks. However I would've liked if they topped up the tea and milk everyday, after our first night we didn't get anymore so it was lucky that I brought my own, and the shops are closing enough to by some milk.
I also wish that the hotel offered an all inclusive package as the only options are half board or bed and breakfast so it can get quite expensive to keep buying drinks and food. You can have dinner at the hotel for €25 per person but you have to pay extra for drinks.
Another thing is, if your flight is later on in the day the check out time is at 10am, you can pay an extra €100 to keep your room up until you leave but we found that quite expensive, instead we left our bags with reception and borrowed some pool towels and spent the day around the pool without having to pay extra which is a great option.
I had a lovely stay at this hotel, I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to visit the island this hotel is especially great for anyone that likes or is into aviation as the hotel is directly in the flight path and you can see all types of planes throughout the day, the first flight of the day is around 9am so you wont get woken up by the noise. I will definitely be back again to stay.
Great Hotel
The location was great especially if you are into aviation as this hotel is more or less on the flight path staff are really friendly, the rooms are lovely mind i would have liked my tea coffee filled up every day but little things overall this place has provided me a fantastic week away I will be back
3rd visit & not the last
We’ve returned from our weeks stay at the Marelen, this was our 3rd time. Whilst we agree of plates & tables not being cleared away quickly at breakfast time it did not detract from the overall cleanliness of the hotel. Our room was kept clean with fresh towels daily & frequent bed linen changed. The cleaning staff are all so friendly & helpful. We were a bit worried hearing that it was under new management but we needn’t have been. The choice of food & quality at breakfast was amazing, we know as regular travellers. We look forward to returning in September 2027.
