Lovely hotel! Kind and friendly staff! Close the beach, whichbwas ideal. Room was more than sufficient and was kept clean by the wonderful cleaning staff. The food at the hotel was also amazing. Overall, would definitely stay here again, good value for money π
We had a fantastic 14-night stay at the Ionian Blue Hotel in Kalamaki and really couldnβt fault it. From the moment we arrived, the staff were absolutely fantastic β so friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere, making it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a peaceful holiday. The food was great, with plenty to enjoy, and the pool area was excellent. The pool was spotlessly clean and there were more than enough sunbeds, so there was never any need to rush out early to reserve one. Our room was lovely and kept very clean throughout our stay. The hotel is also in a great location, being close to the beach as well as a good choice of restaurants. Overall, we had a brilliant 14-night holiday at the Ionian Blue and would happily return. A lovely hotel with fantastic staff, a relaxing atmosphere and everything you need for a great holiday. 4.5/5 β Highly recommended!
Been coming here for years, often twice a year but the attitude to the customers has really gone down
Reported and ignored 2) public gents toilet no light so totally dark Reported and ignored 3) hand soaps and shower gels are supposed to be filled up but ran out twice Reported and ignored till we brought in the cleaner who did deal with it 4) fridge hardly got cold and no ice box facility Asked for a cup (5) of ice cubes, had to talk the barman in to it. Manager told me it's not problem. Next time fine, the 3rd time refused when I spoke to the manager xhe said we could and it would be sent to our room. Never happened
They just don't care about the customers No customer service and they just sit behind a desk doing nothing!
We have been to Zante loads of times but never to Ionion Blue. The location is perfect and the hotel and its grounds are very nice. The pool area is lovely and there are always plenty of sunbeds available. The rooms are decent if not a little dated in places but we werenβt bothered by that. Always nice and clean. The staff were very nice and helpful. Decent size car park on the side if you wish to hire a car too. We will definitely return.
We have just returned for a week here. A nice hotel with nice size rooms which are cleaned daily.
We were in room 104 on the ground floor and paid for the Aircon which i think was 11 euro per day if paying cash and 13 euro per day if paying card. the balcony was nice with a table and chairs etc, but when the aircon was on, it blew out red hot air as the unit was right next to the door when you went outside. So you have to turn it off while you're out there!
We only had breakfast in the hotel a couple of days as we found it poor but there are plenty of places to find in Kalamaki for a breakfast!
there were a few things that bugged us.. the wait time for food, i suggest ordering at least half an hour before you're going to be getting hungry! it took over 30 mins for some cheesy chips most days!
I know we went in the school holidays and there were plenty of sunbeds but if you want one with a parasol they are mostly only on the ones round the pool. the rest are on grassy areas with no shade. We struggled to get just one sunbed for us to share do to people "claiming" them early in the morning. Even leaving them for 3-4 hours! For this reason, we actually went to a different hotel some of the mornings to use their pools and beds!
The price for drinks and food is a little pricy but to be expected. It's a little annoying that they don't allow tabs which meant we needed to carry money on us all the time where as other hotels usually allow a tab to be paid at the end of the day. the lady who works the bar can be very blunt, i asked her about a tab and she just said "no" hey ho!
the location it's self is great, a 5 min walk to the beach and same to the main road in Kalamaki with a super market and shop close by.
We paid for a late checkout due to a late flight but be aware we chatted to other guests who had been charged different amounts for shorter times. we paid 50 euro to keep the room till 5pm. I chatted to another guest who had paid 60 euro to keep their room till 3pm!
Overall, we did have a great week, and we love coming to Kalamaki, but we feel there are much better hotels to stay at.
