The hotel invites guests to spend their holidays on the beautiful island of Zante. It aims to provide the traditional principles of hospitality with high standards and comfort. The hotel is located 5 km from Zante town and the main port, 6 km from Zakinthos International Airport and 2 km from Laganas, where guests will find plenty of nightlife spots and the tourist centre.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The hotel itself is very clean, the maids do a fantastic job with daily cleaning and are all very friendly and always say hello. The restaurant and bar staff are very miserable, no hellos, thank yous or any conversation. This wasn't great to deal with. The pool is lovely, however sunbeds are a bit of a nightmare unless you are an early riser. Although it states sunbeds cant be reserved and towels will be removed, in our experience this wasn't the case and sunbeds were left unattended with towels left on them for most of the day. The food was the worst experience for us. We are not fussy eaters by any stretch, however most of the meals we found inedible. On a few occasions I had slimey chicken and undercooked meat. We ate at the restaurant 3 times in 10 days, we ended up eating out for the rest. We love kalamaki and have been to this beautiful island many times, and I can honestly say we had a great time minus the hotel. We will definitely be returning to kalamaki, however unfortunately not to this hotel. We paid quite a lot for this hotel, and can honestly say we did not get our moneys worth. We have stayed in much cheaper hotels and had a better experience all round.
Had a lovely week at this hotel. Rooms good. Cleaning staff excellent. It was spotless. The food was excellent. Always fresh and different dishes to choose from everyday. I would recommend the Moussaka. George the barman was excellent. Always friendly and helpful as was one of the other young bar staff. The reception staff were excellent. They booked us a boat trip to see the turtles. Elton was our guide and skipper . He was excellent and we would highly recommend. The planes never bothered us. After day one we never took any notice. The pool area was lovely as was the pool. We got a sunbed everyday maybe not the best position but it was fine. Our only moan was one of the dining room staff never smiled and we always tried to be nice but she was borderline rude. We would recommend this hotel. The area was good close to the beach and the shops were a short walk away.
We spent last week at the Bitzaro Palace, the room was really clean, it was spacious and the bed was so comfy. My husband snores nearly every night and he didn’t make a sound all week, so I felt like I had some really good sleep. The staff are all friendly, especially the lady on in the morning, she is really helpful and George in the restaurant and snack bar was always happy and helpful, not so much the older man in the main bar. It was nice to be able to buy bottled water at the bar for a cheap price, no need to walk from shops. We also had a roll each made for us daily as we spend every day at the beach, which was good as most of the sunbeds are taken very early. The beach is only a five minute walk away and the restaurants and bars are about a 10 minute walk. We were really happy with the food, a lot of Greek food provided which is rare in all inclusive, we did eat out the last night, only because it seemed to get really busy over night, we went to the Vintage restaurant and had an amazing meal and service, all the staff were so friendly. We have really enjoyed this second visit to Kalamaki and will be returning again, most probably at this hotel because of good sleep and food.
Just back from this lovely holiday and hotel, very clean, lovely pool view, great staff, excellent food best all inclusive food we have ever had, excellent pool would have appreciated more padded sunbeds as the ones they had were very comfortable but reserved very early each day, always plenty of other ones just need pads for thoes, lovely relaxing entertainment 3 times a week very nice, reception staff always say hello and a lovely wave off to the airport, highly recommend and can't wait to return 😀
We stayed at the Bitzaro Palace for a week, 11th – 18th June 2026.
We wanted a quiet relaxing week away in the sun and we got exactly that.
If you are looking for a lively hotel with Kids Club, Animation Team, Nightly entertainment etc. then this is not the place for you.
What you will get is a relaxed atmosphere, great food, good drinks, clean but basic rooms and friendly helpful staff.
The hotel is small, 3 floors, no lifts, 2 bars, one of which is within the restaurant, which is also the Snack Bar, One pool with small kids section and Jacuzzi.
You do need to be up early to get a sunbed right next to the pool, however there are plenty further back if you are not an early riser.
Breakfast is 7:30 to 10:30 the usual buffet style you get in an All-Inclusive hotel, cereal, toast, pastries, cakes, eggs - boiled, fried, poached, scrambled and omelette, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, beans, crepes and pancakes and fresh fruit are all available. The coffee is also very good.
The Snack Bar is open 10:30 – 12:00, you order what you want from the menu and they prepare it for you, there is also ice cream available all day.
Lunch is 12:30 – 14:00
The snack Bar reopens at 14:00 – 18.00 and then dinner from 19:00 – 21:00.
We couldn’t fault the food, there is plenty of variety and although some people were saying it wasn’t hot enough, we didn’t find that at all.
The All-inclusive bar runs until midnight. The drinks were good, your typical All-inclusive beer, not overly strong, but does the job, there are plenty of spirits available, I’m partial to a G&T and this was absolutely fine, There are cocktails available, but no Prosecco (which would have been nice, but no big deal) We liked the white wine, the rose unfortunately wasn’t for us and we didn’t try the red, so can’t comment on that.
We read on some reviews that the staff could be a bit miserable, this is not the case at all.
Special shout out to George and Chris on the bars, Petra and the other lady who works reception in the evening (I have forgotten her name) always happy, always smiling and couldn’t do enough for you.
Tip: if you want bottled water for your room, buy it from George at the Snack Bar, €2 for 6 x 1.5l bottles, cheaper than the local supermarket and you don’t need to carry it far.
You can walk from the hotel to the main street of Kalamaki in about 5 minutes if you do want to venture out to the shops or the bars and it’s roughly a 10-15 minute walk to the beach.
We took the Tourist Train into Zante town which was a nice few hours out, but as we went away with the intention of not doing a great deal I can’t comment on other trips or excursions, however, we got talking to other couples who did do trips out and they said they had some brilliant experiences.
All in All we loved the Bitzaro Palace, so much so, we have booked again for next June and are taking my parents with us.
