Avianto Suites

We booked two nights at this property. Knowing there was no 24-hour front desk, we emailed the hotel one month in advance with our late-night flight details (arriving Santorini past midnight) to request assistance. The reply was to call them upon arrival. When we landed and got in the car, we called as instructed. It took three attempts for them to answer, demanding we switch to WhatsApp. Instead of meeting us, the manager sent photos and told us to find the room ourselves. With two 30kg suitcases and steep stairs typical of Santorini, we asked for help. His response? "You didn't email, so no one is here. Nearest staff stays at least 20 minutes away."

It was 1 AM, n that place is unexpectedly freezing cold, windy, and super foggy with low visibility. We wandered around lost for nearly half an hour trying to find the entrance. After several attempts we lost temper and called him to come. When the manager finally showed up after another 10 mins, his first act was to accuse us of lying about sending the email instead of apologizing or guiding us to the room as it’s freezing outside! Despite showing him proof, he berated us, saying "I am not your slave who would wait till midnight! and accused us of having "no manner."

After finally entering the room, exhausted, we asked him to leave immediately and we wanted to sleep. He snapped bk and threatened to throw us out onto the street. Later, while we were speaking Chinese to each other about being cold, he claimed we insulted his mother, threw our luggage out, and screamed at us to leave. We refused as we had paid in full.

The next morning, despite this traumatic experience (which resulted in me getting sick/fever), they refused any refund for leaving early. For over 300 euros a night, the facilities are mediocre and the breakfast poor, but the real cost is the complete lack of basic human decency and professional hospitality.

If you value your safety and peace of mind, avoid this place. This was the most terrifying accommodation experience of our lives.

Also this suites is kinda at the highest point of the island. You can never seen sunrise sunset but thick fog and strong wind in June, while Fira n Oia are super hot and sunny! We put on thick jacket and hats when living there! Bad choice for vacation nor honeymoon!

The staff are warm and welcoming, hotel has a bar with an equally stunning view, and there are several restaurants and cafes within a few meters. There's also a nearby convenience store.

The best hotel I have ever stayed in the staff go above and beyond for you. I went for a week for my 30th birthday and they spoiled me rotten! Lovely quiet relaxing environment with stunning room views and amazing breakfast! Could not fault the place. Massive thank you to Margarita and Julietta for making my stay so special.
