I strongly advise against going to this poorly managed property. To begin with, when my gamily of four (my husband and two adult children 18 and 28) arrived this past Saturday evening, there were no porters available to help bring our larger bags down to our suite. The woman at the desk apologized because not only were there no porters, but the guy in the kitchen refused to help her when she asked (yelling at him into the phone) at first. He finally came and took one bag and we took the rest down multiple narrow staircases. When the woman took us to our room, it was not made up correctly. It was supposed to be one large bed for my husband and me in one room and two twins in the other. However the second room had two beds made up into one. When we asked for them to make the two beds up separately as we had booked it, she said she could do it in the morning. When we said that brother and sister would not be sharing a bed, she said that she had shared a bed with her brother, what was the problem? So we told her we would make the beds up and asked for sheets. When we separated the beds and finally got the sheets they were not the right size, but we just made due. The next morning the power went out and stayed out from around 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. We couldn’t even get a cup of coffee in the morning so went out for bfast. We were in and out during the day doing activities. And asked repeatedly when the power would come back on. They would say “a few minutes” and then “1:00.” But it didn’t come on until the evening. We took cold showers that night. The lights also flickered when the power was on the rest of the time. The WIFI only worked the very first night and didn’t work the rest of the time and it was difficult to even get any phone service in general, making it very challenging to check on tours, reservations, etc. We had to walk out into the pool area to get any service and check on anything. As for the jetted jacuzzi, it looked nice, but it wasn’t heated. So we did not ever use it. There were a few heated jacuzzis on the outside of a few rooms, but not ours. We complained multiple times to the front desk about all of these issues. They would take down our room number and say that they would tell manager. I asked for the manager on several occasions. But the manager was mysteriously absent any time I came by. I told them on three different occasions that I expected at least a partial refund. They said they would ask. Then they said that our travel agent had to email them to a specific address, which they did. I had been letting our travel agent — Greeking.me Tours know all along about our issues. And they emailed them as asked. Greeking.me got back to me today, while we were at the airport and basically said no refund because they could ‘t verify any complaints because I hadn’t complained in person (which I had several times) and that the power outage wasn’t their fault — despite the fact that NO hotels or restaurants in the area that we spoke to had the same problem. I am also angry at our travel agent, who did little to nothing to help us. So I don’t recommend them either. Greece is beautiful, but you need to be careful who you use and where you go.
This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I would never recommend Mr. and Mrs. White in Ios to anyone.
During our 4-day stay, the hotel had no power for an entire day while every other hotel nearby still had electricity. The Wi-Fi only worked for a few hours before it was down for the next two days.
We booked a room with two separate beds, but they expected me (a man) to share a bed with my sister, which was completely unacceptable. The hotel was also extremely understaffed, and we had to carry all of our luggage down multiple flights of stairs ourselves.
The employees were trying their best, but they clearly weren’t properly trained. I don’t blame them—I blame the management. The shower pressure was awful, there was little to no warm water, and the bartenders couldn’t make basic coffees or cocktails.
When we asked for a refund because of all the issues, management refused, even if we wanted to leave and stay somewhere else.
Poor management completely ruined our stay. Between the power outage, unreliable Wi-Fi, terrible service, and refusal to take responsibility, I would strongly recommend staying somewhere else.
I went to this hotel believing I would have a simple hotel with low service. I was very wrong. Even though the facilities may seem simple, the hotel is amazing. The family suite is one of the sweetest hotel rooms I've ever seen. It is clean and in very good condition. The way they have built the room is really charming.
The staff is superb and the food is really worth a taste. The hotel is situated 15 mins walk from Oia centre. The walk to Oia is really a sight!
I really recommend this hotel! I've had an amazing trip and would love to come back!
Great spacious room, great view, loved the view of the pool water and islands. Staff was very friendly. Walking distance (15 min) to a tourist town.
Amazing looking place - fits the iconic look. Great , exceptional views. Great breakfast , nice pool. But surrounds concrete cracked and need some attention . Room was very comfortable and had plenty of space , huge by hotel Standards. Good sized comfortable bed & pillows. Few little points : our hot water wasn’t the best in shower but they attended to it. Tv is poorly located away from bed and lounge so you have to move a chair to sit and watch it. But who is here to watch tv? I was - World Cup final . Room flooring seems cheap- ply boards just painted . Bathroom starting to get tired and needing some attention eg plasta render walls cracking, but that’s being picky. All this said it wasn’t disappointing at all.
