We really enjoyed our break at volcano view. Very relaxing, friendly staff, great food. Amazing views!
We arrived by ferry and were collected and had a 10 minute taxi to the hotel. On entering the reception you are met by the most stunning views out to the Aegean Sea. We had a junior suite located between the restaurant and pool. No. 133. Views again were spectacular.
Pool rules you can't leave or pre book (towel on the bed) early doors which is brilliant and meant we were able tr beds at the pool in the morning. Again, views from pool were spectacular and the bar guy was spot on with drinks and food available.
Breakfast was as expected which was fresh tasty and all you could eat if you wanted. We had dinner watching the sunset at the restaurant which was without a lie the best meal and the best view (bar my wife) I've ever had eating dinner. I would highly recommend it.
25 minute walk to Fira from hotel with a bus put on by hotel with a last pick up at 8pm if you want to get the bus back to hotel. Taxis are €20 from Fira to hotel for a mile and a half which is super expensive or you can try and get public bus but there's big queues to get on but not everyone does.
Last point and this is why I gave the hotel 4 stars. I tipped the bar staff and the restaurant staff as I always do, however as we were checking out and paid what was quite a big bill the receptionist asked if I wanted to tip her! I've been to a lot of hotels across the world and never been asked this or l would say embarrassed into it so disappointed tbh. I'm only mentioning this so the hotel can maybe review its check out policies with staff as this isn't on.
as our third time in santorini the location is perfect! the view breathtaking! we stayed at a superior room with caldera room which i recommend ! the room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with a beautiful private balcony overlooking the caldera. Housekeeping kept everything immaculate throughout our stay. Overall, Volcano View Hotel offers stunning scenery, luxurious comfort, outstanding service, and a perfect Santorini experience. We left with wonderful memories and would highly recommend it. very friendly and polite staff!
From the moment we arrived until the day we left, our stay at Volcano View Hotel was absolutely unforgettable. Every single member of the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, cared for, and truly valued.
A special thank you to our wonderful waiters, Petros and Kostas, who were consistently friendly, attentive, and genuinely made every meal feel special. Their kindness and exceptional service did not go unnoticed, and they were a highlight of our trip.
We enjoyed everything the hotel had to offer—from delicious breakfasts and dinners at the restaurant to room service and drinks at the pool bar. No matter where we were on the property, the service was consistently outstanding. The food was excellent, the drinks were fantastic, and every interaction with the staff left us smiling.
The atmosphere at Volcano View Hotel is simply magical. Between the breathtaking views, beautiful surroundings, and incredible hospitality, it was the perfect place to relax and enjoy Santorini. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience and are already dreaming of coming back.
Thank you to the entire team for making our honeymoon so memorable. We would recommend Volcano View Hotel to anyone visiting Santorini without hesitation!
We had a fabulous stay at the hotel. The views over the caldera are stunning and the sunsets at dinner are spectacular. The hotel staff were excellent, everyone was really friendly and couldn’t do enough to help.
The hotel is built into the cliffside, so there are a lot of steps and no lifts. This could be challenging for anyone with mobility issues, but for us the amazing views more than made up for it.
The hotel also provides a free shuttle bus to and from Fira four times a day. We usually took the shuttle bus in the evening and then walked back later at night, which took around 35-minutes. Taxis are expensive on the island – we paid €20 for a five minute journey to Fira and this was the standard fee.
We stayed at the hotel for two weeks because we wanted to spend most of our time relaxing by the pool, with a few sightseeing trips in between. The pool area itself is beautiful, there were always plenty of sunbeds available, and a bar serving drinks and food throughout the day.
Our only real disappointment was the music played around the main pool. Every day, for around eight hours, the same playlist was played on repeat. It sounded like AI-generated music, with the same male voice, very similar songs, repetitive rhythms and banal lyrics. Occasionally it switched between a male & female vocalist, but the style remained virtually identical. Over the course of two weeks, it became extremely monotonous, to the point where we had to move to the smaller pool or wear headphones instead. We weren’t the only guests who noticed this, as several people commented on it during our stay. I also asked George, the barman, whether the music could be changed or varied, but he explained that they had to use a fixed four-hour playlist. I tried to suggest that there are countless playlists available that would provide much more variety, but I don’t think my point came across!
This is a small issue in the grand scheme of things, but one that’s easily fixed for the sake of future guests enjoyment, investing in Spotify or Apple Music and rotating a selection of chill-out playlists would really improve the atmosphere around the pool and make longer stays much more enjoyable.
Overall, we had a wonderful holiday and would happily recommend the hotel. With just a little more variety in the poolside music, the review would have been 5 stars rather than 4.
